Beautiful house in a beautiful place

Great place and super responsive hosts, location was amazing! The house and resort offered a lot to do, not to mention the hot springs! Definitely recommend this spot!

We spent a week at Sonja's beautiful lake house and had the most wonderful time! Iceland is a beautiful country, but staying at this lake house has made the experience even more magical. Beautifully and tastefully decorated, spacious and full of amenities, this was one of our favorite Iceland Airbnbs we've ever stayed at. The hosts were friendly and communicative, check-in was easy and parking right on the property. A car is a must if you are staying here, but I'd argue that's true for all of Iceland. 15 minutes to the nearby town with restaurant and grocery store. It was amazing waking up each morning and having coffee sitting on the patio overlooking the beautiful lake. It was amazing being able to BBQ outside and use the hot tub at night, just a wonderful stay all the way through.

Had an amazing time, beautiful property in a great location central to many attractions . Well stocked. Would gladly stay here again!

The most incredible house we have been in, all luxury of details.. there was nothing missing, the house beautiful, the jacuzzi is an authentic madness, we have fallen completely in love with the house!! We will be back for sure!

Our favorite Airbnb ever! This gorgeous house was tastefully decorated with amazing amenities and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Everything was spotless, and the instructions were clear. Telma was friendly and responsive, making us feel right at home. It was the perfect end to our vacation – waking up on the lake with mountain views and goats passing by each day. The weather was rough during our visit so we spent a lot of our time indoors - this was the perfect retreat. We already miss the sauna, it was hard to say goodbye. Absolutely perfect in every way! Thanks for the memories.

One of a kind view

Our stay was amazing. The house is beyond beautiful and had every single thing one could ever want. The hosts were responsive and super accommodating. Can’t want to stay here again in the future!

Absolutely wonderful house and host. It's a fairly remote location, but that's why you go to Iceland. Only took about 30 minutes to get to the nearest grocery store. The host was awesome, came down to talk to us and led us into the barn to say hi to her horses. I would absolutely stay here again as the place was comfortable and clean and easily fit our group of eight. One thing to note is that two of the bedrooms require that you go outside and walk about 5 m to get to a separate entrance. No big deal at all, even in the rain and wind. but just something people should be aware of.

10/10 recommend. Perfect trip from start to finish. Eugenia is a lovely host. Personable and kind to communicate with via the Airbnb platform. This house is simply incredible. If you’re thinking of visiting Iceland don’t hesitate, you’ll be blown away by the nature, peace and beauty. The house is 45 mins - 1 hour from the airport and Reykjavik. It’s in the middle of the “Golden Circle” where you’ll be able to see many waterfalls, the Geyser etc. It’s a private community of secluded houses in the valley of some mountains. 4x4 recommended as it’s a dirt road for 5-10 mins from the main road. Everything works perfectly in the house. Fireplace, BBQ, well stocked kitchen, all taps had boiling hot and freezing cold water (so refreshing!). Very clean house and felt like home for the week. Jacuzzi, sauna and cold plunge were nice perks. You can hike the mountain behind the house and find blueberries. 100% perfect stay for a family or a group of friends. Thank you, Eugenia!

We were a family - 8 adults Everything as we hoped. The young adults in their late twenties felt it very cosy and authentic and practical.

The owner responded fast on messages and questions. A problem with the supplied phone to open the gate was solved quick. The cottage was clean and warm enough for cold and windy Icelandic autumn climate. The hottub was great. Arrival during daylight is recommended, since it is surrounded by bushes, away from the road. Not easy to see from the road during Icelandic pitch black night time.

Incredible stay! Beautiful space and surrounding areas. Gorgeous beach just a 15-20 minute walk down the valley. Amazing spot to see northern lights. We saw them in full clouds!!!

Incredible stay from start to finish. I really cannot describe how beautiful this location and the cabin is. It’s impossible for a picture to do it justice. Cabin was spotless. Homely and cosey. The hosts were very helpful and responsive before / during and after our stay. If you are looking for a perfectly remote getaway but still within reasonable distance of civilisation in Iceland. You cannot beat this cabin.

Wow! The cabin is in the most spectacular location with amazing views. Inside is spacious and well equipped with just what you need, also nice and warm. The outdoor hot pot is a great addition. Instructions to the cabin were easy to follow taking us straight to it. Neighbouring property’s around but the cabin is private and peaceful. Would certainly stay again.

We rented Sara’s place because of the beautiful setting and because we wanted true peace and relaxation and a place to come home each day. We got that and more. It was convenient to Reykjavík. But it also afforded us adventures in several of the surrounding regions – including the majestic Snaefellsnes. Honestly, though we might have never left and been happy still: the view was spectacular and ever-changing. And it was so very quiet. Smartly designed, it met all of our needs perfectly. We cooked delicious meals. Several hot soaks. And slept so comfortably. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great cabin, spacious, comfortable, clean and really well equipped. We only spent one night here but would have been happy had we been for longer. The cabin feels nice and remote, so a good place to avoid light pollution for northern lights spotting, but also conveniently located near to the main town (borgarnes).
