Great place to stay! Beautiful mountain views:) would highly recommend it for seeing north west Iceland.

Beautiful house in a beautiful place

This is our second visit to Hvammsvik Resort. Originally we stayed here 2.5 years ago and stayed at the Hilltop house and Hvammsvik was just being built into a resort. It was beautiful, and Ive already left a review for that house back then because it was one of our favourite airbnbs that we have ever stayed in. This visit we have the luxury of staying at two different houses on the property. First we stayed in the Club House. (this one was our personal fav for this trip) but only because of what we travelled to Iceland for. The house is so cozy, but large enough for a family with children, or even two families. HUGE kitchen and dining room, cozy couch and TV area. Our second house we stayed in was the Lake House (the most stunning views) This place is a bit smaller, but just as tastefully decorated, and I cannot even describe the views in such few words. Such a magical place to wake up to, surrounded by mountains and water.

The house was modern and very clean. The wall of windows gave us incredible views from sun up to sun down. The host was helpful and responsive. I would come back to this property in a heartbeat. We had an unbeatable experience in this house--which included hours of Northern Lights dancing above us as we luxuriated in the hot tub!! Magical!

The most incredible house we have been in, all luxury of details.. there was nothing missing, the house beautiful, the jacuzzi is an authentic madness, we have fallen completely in love with the house!! We will be back for sure!

Lovely guest lodge in a stunning location - very warm and welcoming accommodation. The lodge is large and well equipped- three good size bedrooms - we used the one with the double bed and it was very comfortable. We loved this place - great for relaxing as we were near the end of our trip and the weather was very snowy.

Our favorite Airbnb ever! This gorgeous house was tastefully decorated with amazing amenities and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Everything was spotless, and the instructions were clear. Telma was friendly and responsive, making us feel right at home. It was the perfect end to our vacation – waking up on the lake with mountain views and goats passing by each day. The weather was rough during our visit so we spent a lot of our time indoors - this was the perfect retreat. We already miss the sauna, it was hard to say goodbye. Absolutely perfect in every way! Thanks for the memories.

The hottub is fantastic. The greenhouse is awesome and really worth a visit.

A wonderful vacation with friends in a beautiful place! Siggi's home is well beyond expectations, it is cared for in every detail and you can breathe the love he has put into creating it! Cozy, relaxing atmosphere, you immediately feel at home! The host has always been more than available and has always supported us in every need and request. The house is well equipped with everything you need to cook and everything works perfectly! It's really the most beautiful house in the area and maybe one of the most beautiful I've stayed in!

We loved it! As a group of women, spending beautiful time together in our favorite fjord by cooking, late night talks, sitting in a hot tub under the stars and auroras, long walks to the island, seeing seals and warming up in the sauna afterwards… Precious! The surroundings are incredible! The house is a dream, the view is unbelievable and everything is super clean and the kitchen is well stocked. Sarah was always helping us when I reached out. Amazing communication. I’d say it’s perfectly comfortable for people who know each other well and maybe no more than 8-9 people if you stay a few days, especially in the winter when you’re mostly inside.

BEAUTIFUL house in a great location! Only half an hour from Reykjavik but far enough away to see the northern lights and grand natural sights. Perfect home with fully supplied kitchen, ample living room and comfortable beds in the bedrooms. We used the hot tub throughout our winter stay. Next time we’ll use the wood fired sauna. My family and I would certainly love to return. Thank you.

Stacy was an amazing host. She was very informative and wonderful with the children. It was our favorite day while in Iceland. We hope to come back again and stay with her.

Kjartan's Borgarnes Villa was everything we hoped it would be. The views were amazing, the lake access was enjoyed and the deck time was spectacular!

10/10 recommend. Perfect trip from start to finish. Eugenia is a lovely host. Personable and kind to communicate with via the Airbnb platform. This house is simply incredible. If you’re thinking of visiting Iceland don’t hesitate, you’ll be blown away by the nature, peace and beauty. The house is 45 mins - 1 hour from the airport and Reykjavik. It’s in the middle of the “Golden Circle” where you’ll be able to see many waterfalls, the Geyser etc. It’s a private community of secluded houses in the valley of some mountains. 4x4 recommended as it’s a dirt road for 5-10 mins from the main road. Everything works perfectly in the house. Fireplace, BBQ, well stocked kitchen, all taps had boiling hot and freezing cold water (so refreshing!). Very clean house and felt like home for the week. Jacuzzi, sauna and cold plunge were nice perks. You can hike the mountain behind the house and find blueberries. 100% perfect stay for a family or a group of friends. Thank you, Eugenia!

Such a fabulous cabin in a stunning location. We enjoyed our stay immensely and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hot tub was a bonus. We used it several times during our four nights stay. The cabin was spotlessly clean had every amenity to make us more than comfortable throughout our stay, the hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. Such a wonderful place, we really didn’t want to leave. Make sure you stock up on groceries when you pass a supermarket (as the nearest one open during our stay was a 25 minute drive) and you won’t want for a thing. We forgot to purchase some sugar for our hot drinks, so Matthias, one of the hosts, called round within a couple of hours with a bag of sugar cubes for us. Amazing service! The horses in the adjoining field were a delight to watch and kept my daughter entertained for hours. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

We were a family - 8 adults Everything as we hoped. The young adults in their late twenties felt it very cosy and authentic and practical.

Really the BEST! Zoei was so helpful and went above and beyond. The location was gorgeous, serene and so beautiful with all the snow. She made sure we had everything we needed. She contacted me early and made sure that we arrived and all was well (because of snow). The house was super cute, with the loveliest natural hot tub so you can watch for the northern lights. She has a cute kitty who stops by too! We had such a fabulous time. I could go on and on, but hands down the very best AirBnB I have ever stayed at and the best host. Note: must have a 4x4 SUV during the winter! Do not try without that.

The owner responded fast on messages and questions. A problem with the supplied phone to open the gate was solved quick. The cottage was clean and warm enough for cold and windy Icelandic autumn climate. The hottub was great. Arrival during daylight is recommended, since it is surrounded by bushes, away from the road. Not easy to see from the road during Icelandic pitch black night time.

Ágúst is a super friendly & attentive host. He was very helpful & made us feel very welcome. Upon arrival we found the cabin to be clean & well presented as well as easy to check in to. The oven broke just before our arrival but Ágúst got it replaced ASAP so that it didn’t affect our stay which we really appreciated. His cabin was perfect for our stay as well & is in a beautiful area. The hot tub really stood out to us & was a highlight of our stay. No complaints at all, would definitely recommend & stay again!

The home was absolutely stunning! Took advantage of the hot tub almost every night during our stay. The location was about 50 minutes away from Reykjavík, making it extremely quiet and peaceful. Gudrun was always quick to respond and super helpful whenever we had questions. The only things that my family had some issues with were the sulphur smell from the water and the water pressure of the shower. The pressure got progressively worse that by the end of the trip there was barely any water coming out. Regardless this place was an amazing experience and made our trip to Iceland 10/10!

Wow! The cabin is in the most spectacular location with amazing views. Inside is spacious and well equipped with just what you need, also nice and warm. The outdoor hot pot is a great addition. Instructions to the cabin were easy to follow taking us straight to it. Neighbouring property’s around but the cabin is private and peaceful. Would certainly stay again.
