Great place to stay for the price. Be prepared to walk if using public transport. But everything suited our needs perfectly.

We can’t say enough about how happy we were with this stay. The space is homey, beautiful, and beyond comfortable. The location was near Honcho street and a short walk from Chureito Pagota. We could easily access the more touristy hub of Lake Kawaguchiko while feeling like our accommodation made for an authentic, rural Japanese stay. Thank you for your hospitality, Saruya!

Absolutely magical stay at Saruya hostel. We stayed for 1 night, would have loved to stay longer. They use top quality items like linens and toiletries. The linens are from local weavers. Shimoyoshida has a long history for makers but most especially, textile. I wish I could bring home the tenjen linens but alas luggage allowance restrictions. The quality of the toiletries provided far exceeded the ones we use from the other hotels we stayed during this trip. Shimoyoshida station is a short 10 min walk away. Short walk from Chureito pagoda which made it really convenient for an early morning hike to the viewing deck just right before the tour buses arrive. There's a bus stop right in front of the hostel but we never did get a chance to figure out how the public transportation worked in the area. But it made for a peaceful walk. Lots of small cafes and stores (longtemp, kura house and unmanned thrift store) Fab Cafe for breakfast was great, yummy food and great ambience.

Saruya Hostel is a really beautiful little hostel. The whole place has been beautifully designed, and host lots of luxuries such amazing ceramics for guest to use in the kitchen. Comfortable shared areas and plenty of space. really clean and nice bathrooms and showers with beautiful soaps. The whole place has a lot of attention paid to it and was such a wonderful stay. The rooms and the building is very safe, and felt very private. It was a pleasure to stay here. The hostel is attached to a beautiful cafe next door where we had great coffee and breakfast both days, was really nice and felt at home with the friendly staff! Location is fantastic, great view of Fuji from the street outside.

We genuinely had the best night ever! The dinner was delicious and it gave us the opportunity to meet and chat with some lovely people. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the rooms were perfect. We stayed in the traditional room, which was very cute and comfortable. The futons were incredibly comfy. We absolutely will be back here next time we visit Hakone.

Would definitely recommend. One of the only hostels I visited in two weeks which had your own space for luggage making your pod feel more like a small room. It is better in person than the listing may suggest. Hosts are helpful and welcoming. Great value for money.

I stayed for two nights and three days at the university seminar camp. They were helpful in many people, including facility guidance, cleaning, etc. It was very cozy with lots of relaxing spaces like capsule beds and shared spaces. The starry sky from the rooftop was clean✨ Thank you!

I was flexible with my check-in time.I was able to get in touch with quickly, and I was quick to respond and the phone was quick, which was helpful.After the fireworks display, they laid out futons in the room that arrived in Heto after the fireworks display, so I thought it was God.The bathhouse is at the door with the bath/vacant room tag at the door to take a key and take a bath with the key!The bath didn't have a tub, so it was only a shower, but I knew it from the time of booking!The air volume of the dryer is also good!There was only one!There is also a shampoo, rinse, body soap!The space is clean and has a toilet and washroom!The drying rack and hangers were convenient.We slept well with towels and futons. the wifi is also superb.Air conditioner Refrigerator, kettle and TV.It was simple, but I was impressed by the fact that I had everything so much that I could stay so cheaply.Thanks for your hospitality.

This will be my first choice for everytime I run trail in Fuji area.

Although the house is a little partial, there is a free car transfer, it is very quiet and the experience is very good.

Great experience, the store will speak very fluent English, the things are very complete, the accommodation is very comfortable, and it is very unfortunate that you can't see Mt. Fuji when you stay.

I just booking near Shimoyoshida area and never realised I get one big room with Japanese style room called Ryokan . The price is really affordable for us and really good deal because near to viral photogenic place , Honmachi doori & near to Selva supermarket . We spend 3 days 2 nights here and almost cover all of Fuji 5 lakes except Yamanako lake because we bought red, blue & green line pasd only for 2 days .Thanks for wonderful hospitality , good communication & quick action .definitely will come here again next time & will recommend to other fellow Malaysian friends as well.
