Herb's House is pet-friendly, but we prefer well-behaved pets. There is a basement apartment below this home.

A beautiful place for the outdoor lover or App State Mountaineer fan, come fall asleep to the sounds of a creek running past the house. Secluded & private, our mountain retreat is just a short walk to Elk Knob State Park & only ~15 minutes from downtown Boone. It's accessible year-round, though you may need all-wheel/4-wheel drive during the winter months if there is snow or freezing weather. The road is plowed, but some parts are steep & can be slippery.

Let our cozy cottage be your home-base for all your mountain adventures. For mtn biking, you will be minutes away from the trails at Lees-McRae College as well as the bike parks at Sugar and Beech Mountains during the summer. In the winter, you'll have several skiing and snow tubing options within a few miles as we are within 10-15 minutes to Beech or Sugar. Wildcat lake is at the bottom of our street. Bring your fishing gear or kayaks/stand-up boards!
