Rustic, but works great! We just needed a place to stay for a night traveling from Sweden to Rovaniemi. This place worked well. Easy to get to, comfy beds, and a very quiet area. Great spot for big groups! We had 7 and we slept comfortably

A really charming old house with modern and fresh bathrooms. The location by the Kalix River is perfect. The view could be improved by sawing down trees in the hillside down to the river. A grill would have been nice to have. The seat in one of the toilets was broken/loose but it could be used. On the whole, we are very happy with the accommodation and Nils was a great host!

My husband and I have just returned from Petr's house (9 night stay) (Feb 25) everything was as described as per listing, Petr was very friendly and very quick to respond to any questions we had, He came and met us personally one day to say hello and make sure we were happy in the house, He also recommended lots of places to visit and sent us links so we could look before we visited etc. The house was very warm and had everything we needed during our stay. The queen size bed was super comfortable. Hot water a plenty. The house had its own drive and plenty/easy parking. We saw the Northern lights 8 out of the 9 nights from the garden :) The surrounding area is stunning , the views were lovely, we even had 5 reindeer on the drive one morning :0 Would definitely recommend this house and we would 100% return. We (4 adults, 4 kids) had a wonderful time in this cottage! The home has an authentic, cozy vibe, and is equipped in everything you need for a longer stay. The location is amazing, directly between forest and the see. There are possibilities for close trails along the frozen bay (we frequently met reindeers) as well as a longer trip to Rovaniemi (less than 2 hours by car). We enjoyed northern lights from the balcony. On top of that, great sauna experience.

A perfect place to get away and have some privacy. The garden is spacious, beautifully arranged, with a barbecue place and a marvelous view. Private bridge to take a swim and perhaps best of all a sauna house for sweating, bathing and relaxing also with a view. Car needed to get around but it is only 15 min to Haparanda. We where a family of six and a dog and there where plenary of room for us and enough of kitchen wear. The host is very welcoming and helpful, in fact the whole family is involved and able to make the best of your stay. I understand they can offer boat trips and guided fishing tours. We don’t think any one can be disappointed at this place, we strongly recommend this place.

We had a great time at Madelene's place. The house is beautiful and very quiet. We organized winter activities with Niklas and it was amazing, I recommend it. The house is well-equipped and the beds comfortable. The fisherman's hut bed is a sofa bed, so not necessarily very comfortable and there is no toilet in this room, it is important to know. We were able to see northern lights from the garden and on the frozen lake it was magical. We were able to enjoy the sauna which was very comfortable, but a toilet was not working and neither was the bathtub. That didn't stop us from having a wonderful stay. I highly recommend Madelene's house for a quiet winter vacation in an amazing setting.

Four weeks 14.12-11.01 we stayed at Sara's fantastic place. We were lovingly welcomed with Glögg and chocolate, Sara even provided us with a Christmas tree! We didn'T MISS ANYTHING, everything was perfect. The house is MEGA equipped. Sara always asked if there were any wishes, unfortunately there was only one person who didn't want to end the time. The house has a perfect northern light location, we saw the lights dancing on 8 days. The wood-fired sauna completes it all. Through the carport we never had to freeze the car despite the -31°. The neighbors always diligently pushed the yard for us in the morning. The internet connection was great, even for video calls with Microsoft teams. An absloute recommendation!
