What a beautiful piece of heaven on earth. We loved the cows, the stunning view of the river, the brightness of the stars, and the quiet….did I mention….the quiet! We enjoyed our time and hope we will be able to come again and stay longer.

If your like me and you go to historic homes on tour and you have a secret desire to live there, than this home is for you. To have the opportunity to actually sleep in a 1700s home complete with antique furnishings was such a wonderful opportunity. Definitely recommend reading through the history of the house and taking time to peruse the many interesting things in the home. I’m sure there are more comfortable/luxurious places to stay but as an experience and a stay all rolled into one this was a great one.

This place is as wonderful as the pictures show. The scenery was amazing and the house was clean, spacious, beautiful and perfect for our Thanksgiving getaway. Our host/s were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this home!

Very nice little spot located, literally, right on top of some local shops. We did not get a chance to visit the local hiking areas but would like to come back to do so and eat at some of the restaurants we saw in the area...maybe Vickie's place will be available again! The little snacks and extra touches of hospitality were greatly appreciated. Arriving home for the night and munching on some snack size boxes of cereal really hits the spot! Very clean, comfy, and uncluttered. Thanks Vickie!

Happy Trails was nicely updated and furnished with all the items we could think of. Beds were comfortable and heat system was excellent. The two bathrooms looked as if they had just been updated and showers had good water pressure. Eddie is a great host. Proactive reaching out to see if we needed anything and full of written information about area attractions. We would be happy to stay here anytime we come to this area of southwest Virginia.

Clay was a wonderful host. Super quick responses and detailed instructions. The house is beautiful and exactly as pictured. Very clean and had all amenities. Unfortunately it rained while there but very walkable to town and to our family. We will absolutely book again when we return to BSG.

R-Pod of Whippoorwill Hill

We needed somewhere to stay the night during a roadtrip and the r-pod was perfect for our needs! All of the basic essentials were provided, plus some thoughtful touches. As a plus size gal, the bathroom was a squeeze but still doable. Be warned, it was quite chilly inside the pod for an October night! There was a small space heater provided, which came in very handy, but bringing extra blankets might be a good idea (or dress warm for bed lol). Also, a heads up that there were some loose dogs hanging out around the pod when we arrived and left. They seemed friendly, but were not scared of the car, so be on the lookout when pulling in/out. Overall, a good choice!

We loved our stay at this AirBnB! It was perfect for enjoying downtown activities, as it was conveniently close to every great local attractions and restaurants. Josh was very responsive to any questions l had. The room was very cozy and clean. I will definitely be back in the future!

I absolutely loved this place. After driving down for most part of the day, it was such a relief to be able to get inside easily and just rest. The place is beautiful and looked like something out of a fairytale. My boyfriend was so impressed with the hospitality, breakfast felt like catching up with family members.

We enjoyed our time at Beef Holler Lodge. We enjoyed the cabin. It was secluded and peaceful. Our dogs appreciated having the field down by the pond to stretch their legs in. We also really enjoyed the hike to the cave and sitting on the porch enjoying the view. Cabin was clean, well stocked with the basics, and as described. Would stay here again.

This was the coziest cabin with a beautiful view! it was easy to find and inside was clean and comfortable. Our host was quick to respond to a question, and we dines at the Hob Nob Diner, which was recommended. It was warm and felt like home, which was wonderful to return to after freezing at the nearby state Park all evening. My only regret is we didn't stay longer!
