Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Scott County

Sheila’s home was incredible, if you’re looking to get away from the busy hustle of everyday life, book a stay here and make sure to stop at a grocery store. Only a couple hours from the Gatlinburg, an hour or so from cookeville, makes this a great spot for day outings. This was everything that we wanted! Sheila and Darryl were the nicest people, with lots of information, shortcuts, and jokes to be had. We’re already planning our next trip back down so that we can bring our pups!

Aaron’s cabin was very beautiful, and it was fully stocked with a nice kitchen. My husband and I found it very relaxing, and the surrounding area was stunning.

This cabin is a little slice of Heaven! Big South Fork National park is breathtaking! Leane goes the extra mile and then some! We were pleasantly surprised to see all the extras she provides. We roasted hot dogs and had s’mores around the fire pit with our granddaughter thanks to the things Leane provided. This cabin is peaceful, beautiful and checks all the boxes. The beds are comfortable and the entire place feels like home! Thank you Leane for all your recommendations and for making our stay at your cabin an amazing get-away!

Absolutely wonderful trip. Karin’s cabin was immaculate, and cozy. It was perfect for our trip, and we can’t wait to come back. We are already planning our next trip back. The cabin had everything we needed, plus more. My husband and I visited for a hiking trip. We stopped at the Cumberland Falls State Park on our way, and didn’t get to check-in until 10PM. Karin and Bruce were more than accommodating to our late arrival time. They had the cabin ready to go, and turned the heat on for us. (We were a little wet, and cold from our hike.) The hot tub was a huge bonus to add! It was so nice to relax in after long days of hiking. We also visited Pickett State Park which we highly recommend. It was beautiful, and not too far from the cabin. There is something for everyone here regardless of your trip. If you want to just relax, or visit state parks this is a must stay destination for your trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, and getting to meet Karin and Bruce. Wonderful hosts!

This gem was a wonderful find in this area of Tennessee. Nestled right between Pickett and Big South Fork, I was able to easily get to trails on either side in no time at all. The property was quiet and peaceful with birdsong and the gentle water sounds out back. The bed was the perfect amount of support and comfort and I am really picky about mattress comfort. I fell asleep so easily. The air conditioning unit is located in the kitchen window and the host provided plenty of fans to keep the air flow to your liking. The hot tub was perfect after a long day of hiking and I loved watching the horses in the pasture nearby. No complaints, only positives at this spot. Would definitely stay again.

We got many hours of joy from the piano and the incredible screened in porch. We loved the tranquility and the birdsong. The new, blessedly deep bathtub and big shower were excellent. Also enjoyed reading a few of the great books! The place was not as clean as we had expected, and since we were staying for over a month we did a good bit of cleaning, so it may be better for the next folks. Updates to the kitchen and better pans would be nice. Be prepared that there are not a lot of restaurants or grocery options nearby. We planned ahead so that wasn’t an issue. For accessibility, be aware you will need to go up or down curved wooden stairs from the main level to get to any bathroom. Be careful not to slip on the steps.

Enjoyed a spur of moment visit to RM Brooks store & stay in the treehouse for some much needed R&R! The bed was comfortable & the battery operated lights added some ambiance. The weather was rainy which made it even more enjoyable!

The house is in a great location for access to brimstone with plenty of parking. The full basement with garage was great for everyone to hangout! SxS access to local gas station and food was perfect for us! The host was very responsive and even allowed an early check in for us at no cost since there were no guests in the house the night prior to our arrival! Well definitely be back and sending a few photos for the wall of shame 😅

Our group absolutely loved staying here! This is our second time staying in this house and it is always a wonderful stay! Close to numerous riding trails, including Brimstone. The house is ALWAYS IMMACULATE! The beds are comfy, the kitchen has everything you need and some! We will be visiting again next year!
