Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Sangamon County

It was an older home, but it was clean and pet friendly, which we needed this trip. We like older homes with nice old trim and doors, so it was great for us. It was also great to be able to get just one night, which is all we needed. David was responsive and answered all our questions, so we have no complaints there.

We loved our little home away from home and hope to stay there again. We had lived in a nearby neighborhood and returned to visit friends. The place was sparkling clean! We were provided with some snacks and anything we would have needed to cook. There’s a nice fridge with an ice maker and a blender, both important to me. The beds and couches were very comfortable and the shower pressure in both bathrooms was perfect. I was able to sit at the kitchen table and see a variety of birds in the back yard including woodpeckers, blue jays and cardinals. There are simple instructions for walking to the walking trail. It’s a great trail that spans several miles in either direction. We used it a lot when we lived there. The home rules were very reasonable-we didn’t feel like we had to be the housekeepers. Brad was extremely friendly and attentive. He introduced us to his dogs so we knew how to interact with them. (We are cat people so we didn't have a lot of experience.) Brad was very clear about the household rules and we felt at home. We were extremely comfortable in the bed on the second floor....some of the softest sheets I've ever felt.

Cool 😎, well-appointed, and comfortable. The bed and toilet were amazing, the fridge and cabinets were well-stocked. Samuel even left us toothbrushes and little toothpastes! Everything we needed was at hand. Thank you!

My long distance girlfriend and I needed a place to stay for our date weekend. This place did not disappoint!

This property had everything our family dreamed of for our 3 day stay. The host pampered us and explained everything very well on the walk through. Our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the pool, sand area and trampoline! The lake was peaceful and fishing relaxing. Plenty of things to do here with all the games, toys and outdoor activities. The hosts were very friendly and everything was super clean. Thank you for a great time with our family. We hope to come back!

We enjoyed our stay with our 2 dogs while visiting Champaign for a football game. The place was clean and homey like, with a fenced in back yard for the dogs! We enjoyed the backyard and the fire pit on cold nights. Brenna’s places was great in my book!

My family was returning to Taylorville after many years to reconnect with family. This was an excellent home base, feeling welcome from the moment we walked on the front porch. Bedrooms were roomy and comfortable, and they even provided extra bedding for our kiddos. Bathrooms and kitchen had all the amenities, and the large basement area was perfect for kids to play legos and games. David was an excellent host, being very responsive and understanding. I highly recommend staying at this wonderful guest house and will stay again on our next trip.

Great location for seeing the Lincoln historical exhibits. We loved being in this historic building. The house is so beautifully maintained. Our suite was a blend of contemporary and vintage. Bed was comfortable, bathroom lovely. Living room comfortable. Used the kitchenette for light breakfast in the morning. Must be able to navigate steep staircase to second floor. Would love to return during summer months and use the lovely outside space.

Place looks exactly like the pictures. Very friendly host! Would stay here again.
