Vacation rentals in Sane Valley

Thanks to Debbie for her wonderful communication. Also for accommodating two of my work colleagues who were a long way from home. They loved having some home comforts and wifi while away from home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fowler”s house number 1. Right in the centre of Jamestown. Great terrace looking out over the town and hills. Great layout for 2 people. Everything in Jamestown is walkable from the house. Jean and Peter arranged a hire car, giving us freedom to explore the island. Top tip would be take plenty of pound sterling, as the island is mostly a cash economy and the bank doesn’t open until Monday.

David and Di were amazing hosts right from the start to the end of my stay with them! They met me at the airport, and gave me a lift to their house so that I wouldn't need to book a taxi! They also helped me with hiring a car (a must for travelling around the island as buses are infrequent), and David even came out with me on a test drive so that I could get used to driving on the (often very steep and narrow) roads. There are many things about St. Helena that tourists may not know (e.g. you will need physical cash for most of the transactions you make on the island, but there isn't an ATM on the island, not all stores do cash back, and the bank is only open at certain times of the day), but David and Di were able to answer all my questions, and give recommendations and advice! Also they have wifi - which was invaluable, as there isn't any free public wifi that I came across on the island. I loved my time staying with them, and I know you will too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wranghams Cottage! Debbie and Neil were excellent hosts throughout our week long stay, and was always willing to answer our questions and provide suggestions. The cottage itself is by far the best of the available Airbnb options on St Helena, and was very well equipped. As a travel destination, St Helena is highly recommended, and we loved our adventure on the island . Our top tip would be to hire a car, as Wranghams is some distance away from Jamestown and some of the other more populous centres. That being said, the distances on the island are quite relative, meaning that you are hardly ever further than a 30 20-30 minutes drive away from different locations. However, there are also other transport options available across the islands such as shuttles and taxis. Enjoy St Helena and all its wonderful sights and friendly inhabitants!

A fantastic option on an island with limited accommodation options. Donald and his wife offer three self-contained apartments which adjoin their home which is perched on a mountaintop overlooking the island. If staying here you will definitely need a rental car as the house is far from Jamestown. A big plus is the use of the laundry and each unit contains a kitchen which allows for self-catering. Highly recommended.
