The pictures do not do this place justice. It was even more breathtaking in person. My family and I had a great time. The hosts were very responsive. The sunrise and sunsets were nothing short of magical. Thank you Eric and Melanie for a great stay. We will be back!

Tanya's place by far was the nicest Airbnb in which I've ever stayed. She was kind, friendly, hospitable and checked in frequently to ensure that I had everything I needed. I even had a chance to meet and chat with her while I was enjoying the outside amenities. She was kind and warm and made me feel right at home. I even shared some of why I was there which was comforting and for a reason. This Airbnb offered everything that was needed for a few days stay in addition to so much more. I hope to have an opportunity to return with friends and family and to enjoy some of the other amenities in the warmer months. Thank you again to both Tanya and her husband for their warm hospitality!

Impeccable experience! This Airbnb, and hosts Tim and Christie, thought of everything! The house is filled with pristine, beautiful linens, the most comfortable beds I've ever experienced in a rental, and more. Memory foam mattresses in all bedrooms, fluffy down pillows, and plenty of blankets. The sofa was super comfortable, and the large screen TV was a smart TV, so we could continue to watch our shows easily. The kitchen was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed to cook at the Airbnb. Everything looks and feels brand new at the house. The home is bright and airy, and the layout is just perfect. The bedroom in the loft was really nice to have. We slept extremely comfortably every night. The neighborhood is quiet, and the water is absolutely breathtaking. We would absolutely recommend this Airbnb 100%.. would love to return to this beautiful Airbnb. I could not give this a higher recommendation! :-)

Patrick's place was very cute and beautiful. Right by the water with enough space and privacy to enjoy a family weekend trip. The view of the water was beautiful, wish we could have come when it was warmer so we could enjoy the kayaks and the water more. Thank you!

This was our annual book club weekend and we had such a wonderful time. We spent cozy evenings by the fire. Enjoyed recommended places to visit and eat. I loved having my morning coffee on the dock and watching the sun come up. Thank you for sharing your home with our book club of 14 years!

We loved the house; cozy, nicely decorated, with many pieces of original art that really added character. The kitchen is well stocked for those who like to cook. The location right on the water was wonderful, and Nancy provided kayaks, which we took advantage of. Our dog was beside himself with so much room to run. Nancy’s daughter and family live next door, and we spent quite a few hours enjoying conversation and local knowledge with them. We would go back again.

Our family had a great stay! The house was exactly as listed. Our only disappointment was that it was so cold we couldn’t take advantage of the great backyard kitchen and patio! The house was clean and Jacqueline was super helpful and responsive! We would stay again.

My daughter found this gem online to book for my 65th birthday and a family get-together on the Northern Neck. We stay in Airbnb homes quite frequently all over the world and this is the loveliest home we've had the good fortune to stay in. Christine is the most gracious host and this home is special because she has made it that way for her family. It's a huge difference to stay in a vacation home that the host rents and a home that the host lives in. Christine's eye for beauty is exquisite and the home is comfortable as well as beautiful. It seldom happens that you say, "I wish the house had (fill in the blank)" and this house has it. The river is a gorgeous backdrop and there are kayaks to use. The saltwater pool is a great addition and a reason to hang at the house. And there is everything one needs to knock out a meal or if you don't want to cook, plenty of places to eat in the area. All in all, this house is a 15 out of 10!!

It was a comfy stay in a beautiful marinia. The house was clean and the beds were soft. It did well for me and my 4 kids who each had their own bed. The landscape of the place and the sunsets were great! It was quite, tranquil with beautiful warm and sunny days. I would go back. Very easy check in and out.A lot to do in the area.

Marvelous property! Our family had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving at Oyster Shell Cottage. Plenty of room for our large gang in this spacious and immaculately appointed cottage. The fenced yard was perfect for our pup, and the screened porch was glorious. The kids enjoyed the dock and fire pit. All of the bedrooms were comfy and cozy. Of special note was the enormous shower in the master bedroom on the ground floor! The kitchen was fantastic and had everything we needed. Highly recommend Oyster Shell Cottage for your family’s vacation or get away!

Abbie’s place is located on a beautiful place right next to water with a very peaceful and serene setting. The house was very clean and had lot of amenities for a water front home. We had a wonderful stay at the place and also explored Montross downtown while we were there, which is about a 10 minutes drive. Abbie is very responsive and promptly answered all our questions and concerns and was very flexible with our checkin check out times. I would really recommend the place.

We had a wonderful time over the Thanksgiving weekend. The condo was just as described, and even more impressive than the photos show. Lots of nice little touches, including a welcome basket with wine and snacks. The view of the beach and river from the balcony was beautiful, especially at sunrise. Although it’s a quiet time of year there, we still found plenty to do. We ate in most meals, but did have a delicious lunch at the Sunflower Cafe, and the guys visited the brewery next door. There’s a delightful Art Gallery just across from the parking lot. We’d love to come back sometime when the weather’s warmer and enjoy Colonial Beach in full swing. Our host was very responsive to any questions. All in all, a great place for a winter holiday celebration. Thank you Brittany!

Views for miles! The location couldn't be better and the host was always responsive and helpful. This unit sits right on the potomac river and morning sunrises were my favorite part of my day. Walk to many restaurants and entertainment

Old Smokey was a wonderfully unique little getaway! The camper has so much charm. Access to the marina’s amenities (pool, tiki bar, laundry and bathhouse) was very convenient. We might not have expected the busy tiki bar scene upon our arrival but, we greatly enjoyed hanging with the locals and the other boating visitors on Sunday. Then, come Monday, the serenity and solitude we were hunting for was delivered with the private, secluded beach access!! We had the beach completely to ourselves. Not to mention it was an osprey lovers paradise… they were everywhere and were so much fun to watch. It was also so incredibly peaceful to listen to the bay lapping the shore at night and to catch the beautiful sunsets. We will most certainly return again!

We're from Michigan, our son is stationed in Alexandria VA. We were looking for a place we could meet up with him for a relaxing weekend away from the city. We rented the Mermaid cottage @ Endeavor Point and it fit the bill perfectly. The cottage was impeccable and had everything we needed for an amazing weekend. The setting was beautiful and entire property was ideal for rest and relaxation. Sophia was awesome and made everything super easy for our stay. She even gave us a few places to check out based on our interests. Our only regret is only being able to stay for a weekend, but we will definitely be back when we can stay longer and bring some fishing gear.

We loved this snug, little spot on the water. Watching the sunrise over the water made for enjoyable mornings. It had a full kitchen that made cooking our meals very easy. Two seating areas in the living area gave us room to spread out. Fast wifi....I even stayed online while I was down by the water. I wasn't a huge fan of the overly curious swans, but I did find some really nice pieces of sea glass down by the water. The heat in this house was great.

We felt right at home in this sweet house and look forward to coming back!

My husband, dog, and I spent a long weekend at this house to celebrate my birthday. The views are stunning, making it a perfect place to relax, recharge, and take in the beauty of the water. The beach is just a few minutes away (head down the hill and take a left at the stop sign). It’s a private beach, and you’ll need a code to unlock the gate, but once inside, you’ll find soft sand and calm waters—perfect for families. At seven months pregnant, I found the environment incredibly comfortable and peaceful. Michael was quick to respond and very helpful, and the house exceeded our expectations—even better than the pictures! Since we love cooking, we were thrilled with the variety of appliances and kitchen tools. The sunroom was our favorite spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery. Overall, a wonderful experience, and we look forward to returning with our baby next time! Thank you very much, Michael!

This was SUCH a beautiful property. The house, the lot, the dock, the water, the sun rises and sun sets—absolutely perfect for a relaxing girls’ trip. I will absolutely be back with other friends and with my family.

Our family traveled from South Carolina for a funeral in LaPlata MD (a short drive away from this home). Jane's property was just what we needed to accommodate our family of 6. The house was clean, comfortable and well equip with everything that was needed. The ping pong table in the garage provided much needed entertainment when we had down time. The views were absolutely beautiful and we can not wait to come back. While there we enjoyed crabs at Captain John's crab house a couple of miles away. I would totally recommend this home to anyone that is traveling for business, leisure or just a peaceful, quiet getaway. Thanks Jane for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful home with us.
