Kalven was proactive and reached out to me as I booked to let me know about the place and also watch out for the hotel to try to sell timeshare. Overall really great value for money paid right near union square. Lots of places to go eat and place was safe at least until 11 as long as you don’t head towards tenderloin. Super close to the union square cable car which takes you directly to fisherman s wharf, Lombard etc - buy a day pass and take the red cable car and save money ! Room was spacious, bed was comfy and bathroom delivered comfy showers! Will stay again !

Wonderful property, a hotel but more personal. Amazing location. SF is on the rebound. So nice to walk around all around the property. Wonderful hosts who have been super cool for two stays now. Couldn’t recommend it more for a family. So spacious and the views are second to none.

Just like it says in the description. Good value and in Soma. The other unit in this place has a window and I think is nicer.

The place was perfect for two peolpe (or two couples) to have their own space, but share a lovely central kitchen, dining and living space. Unfortunately, one of the bedrooms didn't have a tv so we had to fight over the room that did. Everything was super clean! I loved having access to the gym. It was like being a local, but having hotel amenities. I didn't even have to ask about early check in. It was offered. This was so incredibly amazing after a grueling day of travel! When in the Bay Area, I'll book here!

Stayed at The Donatello for 2 nights! Very easy check in and check out process. The hotel room was beautiful and spacious and and the staff was very courteous. The building is in downtown SF so it's not completely insulated from noise. Overall, I enjoyed my stay!

I have just one complaint: This apartment has ruined other AirBnBs for me! It's my favorite place to stay in Oakland, by far. The neighborhood is lovely - a quiet street near a commercial hub, very walkable. The apartment blends the thoughtful touches of a dear friend's guest room with the spacious privacy of a high-end hotel. Every corner is appointed with love, from the artwork's playful geometry to the linen's comfy textures to the drawers' soft close. After a long day, the secret succulent garden is a quiet, whimsical retreat. John and Lauren put great care into this place, and it shows.

Katie was wonderful and welcoming, answering all our questions. She was a fabulous and considerate host! We loved the space and it has a beautiful view. The kitchen was lovely and well-stocked. The bed was super comfy! It is a cozy sanctuary.

My only complaint is parking. If you stay here and you are not able to park at the facility ($35/night) because of limited space be aware the cost of parking garages nearby will cost between $60-100 a night.
