Kailua Beach Park - 2 BR Cottage

DebbieRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This is a VERY well-maintained property! We appreciated the shower wand (a boon if you're short!), the safe, the extra bath linens, wall hooks for clothing, and the use of some nice beach chairs and towels. We enjoyed morning coffee on the private porch, several walks along the "next door" Kailua Beach, and the quite do-able walk to Lanikai Beach. Brooke provided excellent written communication, from spot-on directions and parking (with photos!), to operating the A/C, to the clear labels everywhere. The local recommendations of restaurants and "things to do" were also very helpful.

Jewel in Sky near Hilton Hawaiian Village

jordanRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Thank you so much! The view was even better in person and the night view was stunning! You don’t have hotel right opp to you so it’s nice to have the curtains open and still have privacy. The aircon was great after some hot days! The kitchen had all the essentials - kettle, countertop, microwave, toaster and mini fridge. Spent most time eating out but it was good to have a few options to eat in especially the day of that big storm. I didn’t rent a car and I found this place was great to catch the bus - 2-5 min walk. You won’t be in the heart of Waikiki but I found this location better for my needs. Right in the middle to go Waikiki or right towards Ala Moana or Honolulu which is where some of my tours were located. Place was spotless on arrival and appreciated the clean mid way through. Stevrella was great at communicating so I really had no questions as all bases were covered. Would definitely stay again.

Waikiki Amazing Views 1/1 Beachfront Condo

MelissaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Incredible place to stay! Everything was super easy to find, two of us stayed here comfortably and had our own areas. Our host was incredibly responsive. The updated shower and bathroom was super cleansing after a long day at the beach. What was really nice is that the host had provided extra beach chairs, towels, seats, and boogie boards. It ended up saving us a ton on one time purchases or price gouging rentals.

OHANA Suite 15F Waikiki Banyan Oceanview "Parking"

AshaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Excellent location just blocks from the heart of Waikiki action, as well as many excellent food options on Kuhio ave. Unit has amazing sunset views, new kitchen and bathroom, and a very convenient sofa bed where the cushions don’t even have to be removed. Beach gear and towels were also provided. It was perfect for our small family. Things to note about the building - elevators can be slow. Mostly not an issue but give yourself time if you need to get somewhere at a certain time. Laundry is also $4 per cycle - so $8 to wash and dry, only quarters accepted. Front desk can assist w change. Given location, unit and building - I would stay here again!

ClaraRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We loved our stay at this beautiful condo near Waikiki beach featuring picturesque surroundings, close by amenities, delectable restaurants and unique shopping! Claude and Sara responded promptly to any questions or needs and were friendly in their texts. We loved cooking in the kitchen and hanging out on the lanai watching the boats and surfers! The condo was very clean and spacious and we slept well. It was a treat to remember forever! I hope to return and stay here one day! Highly recommended! Now back to cold Wpg. , sigh! Thank you!

Ocean View in Paradise - TA-083-345-6128-01

WinnieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We enjoyed our stay very much. Condo is exactly as pictured and very well equipped. Our stay was comfortable for 4 adults, with 2 young adults sleeping on sofabed and air mattress. Location is very convenient near Ala Moana, restaurants, Waikiki beach. Street parking along Marina for $1 hour was relatively easy to find. Kitchen layout was a bit awkward with sink in corner, microwave on a hard to reach shelf but for a vacation rental, it’s totally fine to reheat food. Just don’t plan on doing too much actual cooking. Hosts were very detailed and communicated well before and during our stay.

Aloha Suite Near the Sea III 3 Block Walk to Beach

JoyceRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I really enjoyed my stay! Super comfy and appreciated the extra touches like coffee & filters (lots of coffee), toiletries and suntan lotion. Enjoyed the beach chair. Short walk to the beach and enjoyed nice runs & walks in peaceful and beautiful neighborhoods. Found a great happy hour and went 2x because it was sooo good. The bed was really comfy. I had read reviews about the air conditioner being a little loud but it really wasn't - whisper soft. Only used it at night - otherwise enjoyed the ocean breeze from the lanai. Peter was an amazing host - super proactive and responsive. Highly recommend. Clean and cozy!

The space was exactly as Jayden described. It was very clean, and it was also refreshing to have all the "little things" in the kitchen to be able to cook and find what you needed. The location was convenient. The parking seemed a little confusing at first, but trust the directions and instructions Jayden provides and you will have no problems. I'd definitely stay there again.

This place was perfect for groups, even with 8 people. Very easy to access Waikiki by bus. The hosts were super responsive and kindly let us store our luggage before check-in, which was a big help. If I had to mention one thing, the large windows made it bright during the day, but it felt a bit dark at night. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

This was a super low-key spot to stay in the middle of a very busy part of town. Super quick to stroll to the beach and grab whatever incidentals from any one of the omnipresent ABC stores haha. Grabbed a scooter from across the street and rode to quieter area when I felt like. Super chill!

this cottage is a dream of a destination in kailua! the garden, pool, outdoor deck, well-equipped kitchen, and beautiful interior spaces are just the start. access to the beaches at lanikai for amazing sunrises, lush landscaping, views to offshore islands, and long walks on a sandy beach is easy from the cottage. and a slightly longer walk gets you to kailua beach park's boardwalk and beach, and the hike at lanikai pillbox without driving or parking hassles. it's in a safe, private, and quiet neighborhood for residents, runners, bikers, and dog walkers. shops and restaurants are a short drive away, and a few are even walking distance. thank you for access to this special place!

We had a great four month stay with Son and his wife. The location was super close to Waikiki but also quiet enough to escape the city. The bus took us to the sea within 5 minutes. Everything you need was available in the Airbnb. Son was always helpful and if we needed anything, Son helped us out. We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend staying with Son.

We loved this place, I would recommended to anyone that wants to be in the center of Waikiki but still in a quiet apartment building. Great views, walkable, and the apartment has everything you might need to enjoy your time. The parking in the building was great and cheap too. The parks and the beach are so close and it’s so fun to go for a walk early morning or evening. The pool was always empty, if you prefer a deep in the coolish pool instead of the ocean. They have many food trucks and restaurants options steps from the apartment. It was a pleasure to have breakfast on the balcony looking at the surfers, ocean and always changing colorful clouds.

Beautiful Waikiki Apartment Free Parking*

MatthewRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I enjoyed staying here. The price was great, the location had a lot of restaurants, and Alan was a great host. Alan is a responsive host who helps when he can. The location seems safe, the parking is spacious for Waikiki, and I think it was one of the best deals I've had on AirBNB in a long time. I think if you enjoy and want a night life in Waikiki it's a good place to stay. At the same time, the location is placed in a good area for those who want to leave Waikiki without too much hassle. The only thing I would consider next time to prepare for is that some nights it can be a little noisy at night, but I think most of Waikiki is this way. Overall it was a great place, thank you very much.

We loved staying at William's place and it felt like home especially after a busy day! Very comfortable, had everything we needed (and then some) and located in such an excellent area - close to shopping, restaurants, beach (and of course the rainbows) but away from the noise of Waikiki streets. William was very easy to deal with and responded quickly to questions. Would definitely stay there again if we got a chance to come back.

Your guide to Honolulu

All About Honolulu

As Hawaii’s state capital, the largest city across the islands, and the most remote major city in the world, Honolulu has long been the most famous and popular gateway into the Hawaiian experience. With a population of nearly 1 million residents, Honolulu thrums with diversity and energy, and a lush surrounding landscape and gentle aquamarine shores frame its populous high-rise skyline.

Blessed with a beautiful and swimmable beachfront — Honolulu means "calm port" in Hawaiian — visitors will have a wealth of oceanfront activities to choose from, whether it’s snorkeling in nearby Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve or strolling across Waikiki Beach in the shadow of the city’s most luxurious resorts, or stand-up paddleboarding under the warm glow of a Oahu sunset.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Honolulu

Chances are you’ll never need anything more than a light sweater or jacket to stay warm in Honolulu, where average temperatures typically hover between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Warm and dry summer weather extends from April through November. The island’s pleasant trade winds cause temperatures to fall only modestly between December and March.

Top things to do in Honolulu

Diamond Head State Monument

The hike up to the 300,000-year-old volcanic Diamond Head Crater would be arduous if the trek wasn’t so breathtakingly beautiful along the way. The reward for those tired legs is a stunning view of Honolulu and the glistening Pacific below that deserves numerous photos for posterity. Just be sure to arrive early to avoid the wave of crowds, bring cash for the walk-in entry fee, and wear a hat and bring water for the hike up.

Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve

Those hoping to escape from highly developed Waikiki Beach should make their way southeast along the East Honolulu coast. A sheltered and tranquil bay awaits, offering some of the best snorkeling on the island for beginners. Just note: Getting down to the reef requires a 10-minute descent by a steep trail, and there’s a small admission fee (those with disabilities can take a bus down for a smaller fee).

Honolulu Chinatown

If you want to immerse yourself in the scene where Honolulu locals dine, shop, and celebrate, head over to the city's Chinatown district. Many of the best new restaurants helmed by young Hawaiian talent are based in this section of Honolulu, packed with Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese markets and shops. The Maunakea Marketplace food court is recommended for a snack or meal, and numerous galleries and local boutiques further flavor the neighborhood.
