Decatur City Cottage
Let kids climb a wooden ladder to a secret sleeping loft under the roof of a rustic cottage. Adults can kick back and relax here, too. Share a bottle of wine on the porch, choose books and snuggle on a couch, and fall into slumber in a comfy bed. Need more space? The main house is also available and sleeps up to 10. Looks us up The Decatur City House. The Cottage is in our beautiful, gated backyard with a private entrance and lighted walkway. It is a quiet, cozy space. In the front room, there is a queen size crate and barrel sleeper sofa and a 46 inch HD flat screen TV (with Roku including Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime). In the back there is a very comfortable queen bed with a Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Plush mattress and 100% Egyptian cotton sheets and quilt. There is also a single size mattress in the small loft area with a reading light perfect for an older child or small adult. The kitchen area has a small oven, cook top, microwave, toaster oven, and a mini fridge with a freezer. There is a Keurig coffee maker with several different coffees and teas to choose from. The bathroom is stocked with clean fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We love our cottage and hope you will too. I look forward to welcoming you to our home. You have full, private use of the cottage and may feel free to relax in one of our shared spaces in the beautiful back yard. Relax on one of the comfy chairs on the back porch. If you are traveling with children, we have a fun trampoline and a large play scape area that your children are free to enjoy. This space is shared with our family and sometimes friends. I will be available as much or as little as you need me to be. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns during your stay. I will plan on meeting you when you arrive if I'm here to show you around and answer any questions you may have. Otherwise I will respect your privacy. The cottage is in the city of Decatur, in a safe, quiet, walking neighborhood with lots of children about. Downtown is a 15-minute walk on tree-shaded sidewalks, where there are restaurants, shops, and pubs. The Marta station is two blocks away. Avondale Marta Station: 2 Blocks Dekalb Farmers Market (a world market and an amazing place to visit), 1 mile Downtown Decatur, 6/10 a mile Glenlake park is within walking distance, ask me for directions DeKalb Medical Center, .5 miles Agnes Scott College, 1 mile Emory University, Medical Center and CDC, 3.3 miles GA. Tech, 7 miles Piedmont Park, 6 miles Downtown Atlanta: (World of Coca-Cola, GA Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, GA World Congress Center), 8 miles Stone Mountain Park, 9 miles -PET OWNERS - Pets must be approved by host prior to arrival. I will allow small, well behaved, house trained dogs under 30lbs. Maximum of 2 dogs. I need your help in order to maintain an open policy to pets. Pets must be crated while you are away from the cottage and are not allowed on furniture/beds at any time. You will be responsible for any damage caused by your pet. Families with Children: -We have a trampoline and play set that children are invited to play on. The owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises. I also have a pack n play available upon request. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises. Separate coffee cart with coffee maker and the best freshly ground local coffee and premium teas plus microwave. Full refrigerator. Closet space to hang all of your clothes. Large chest of drawers. Full length mirror. Luggage rack for suitcase. Extra sheets, blankets and pillows for pull-out sofa bed. One dedicated off-street parking spot in driveway. Lots more free street parking just one block away. Your host will be on the property and available for anything you need during your stay, so please don’t hesitate asking. In the meantime, we value your complete privacy. The home provides a great location for exploring both Decatur and Atlanta. There are many great restaurants and shops in the area to enjoy and the MARTA train station is one block away providing direct access to downtown Atlanta. Our carriage house is also one block away from the MARTA train with a direct line to Downtown Atlanta for anyone visiting Atlanta and spending most of their time downtown. Forget about traffic and paying for parking. Stay in Decatur and take the 15-minute train ride into downtown instead.
