Could not recommend more highly! Sara's place exceeded our expectations. Super friendly team, local recommendations, helped us sort everything we needed. In an amazing part of the island. We even woke up to monkeys outside our room, which was wonderful. Thank you for such a special stay.

green space villa

RenéRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Staying at this house was a unique and unforgettable experience. It truly felt like a jungle house, surrounded by nature and accompanied by the soothing sounds of the jungle, which created a very relaxing atmosphere. The location is excellent—tucked away from the noise of the main road, yet just a few minutes away from the beach, shops, and restaurants, whether on foot or by scooter. It offers the perfect balance of tranquility and convenience. A special thanks to our host, who was incredibly attentive and proactively checked in to see if we needed anything. His hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful yet well-located retreat!

Relaxing Poolside Townhouse #27

NigelRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Firstly, Frank’s communication is spot on, helpful and friendly. Secondly, the photos really don’t do this place justice. The accommodation is roomy which I don’t think comes across on the Airbnb ad. The complex accommodates full time residents of various nationalities and other holiday eras. It’s a very friendly place in a quiet spot close to a lot going on. The pool is really good and the garden really well maintained As others have mentioned, you really need transport to get about but so many restaurants/eating places nearby. Frank has employed a manager so any issues can be resolved easily. She lives on site and is very friendly.

Bungalow with sea view and A/C

NikolajRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Really nice place. Quiet and beautiful. Would have liked more nights there. Short distance to central hub. Note: Steep winding road up to the home. It went well for us, 2 people on a scooter. Also helps with laundry and suggestions for attractions.

The Beach House/ sea views

ShonaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
This was our second stay here and once again was perfect for us. Quiet and peaceful retreat right on the beach with numerous lovely restaurants a few minutes walk up the beach. Great massages next door and the sea is as warm as bath water. We have come home revived and relaxed. Thank you hope to see you again soon.

Panoramic View on AoYon Beach

MichalRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This is our second stay at Mike's place in AoYon beach. Beyond the truly amazing and beautiful place on the beach, we'd like to thank Mike for being such a kind host. Sometimes the whole is more than the sum of its components, and in our case the component of the host literally made our stay! This place is probably the last remnant of a by gone era of simplicity and unpretentiousness in AoYon beach, so if you are heading to Phuket, don't miss out on this place.

Beachfront Oasis, 6 beds, Modern

HegeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My husband, our two children and I were staying at Maggie’s place for 2 weeks. We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect - on the beach with a restaurant right next to the appartment. There were also many toys for children that they could use while playing and swimming at the beach. One thing to note is that there are some small ants in the kitchen and on the floors inside the appartment. Other than that we had a fantastic stay. We recommend this place for families and others that wants to live in a quiet area!

Vacation Resort Home by Doi Inthanon National Park

IsmailRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We spent a beautiful weekend at the Cabin with two families. It is in a superb location right by Doi Inthanon National Park. The house has everything you could ever need, and a lovely homely feel to relax and play games and hang out after a day of hiking and waterfalls. The facilities are top-quality with a real attention to detail. The morning light is also stunning, and the kids loved the pedalos in the little lake. The enclosed veranda with daybeds and the dining table with full french windows looking to onto the gardens is really a nice spot! We would definitely recommend this place for families or a group of friends looking for a comfortable base to explore Doi Inthanon from. The food from the nearby restaurant was also very reasonably priced and delicious. The hosts were super helpful and responsive, though we had nothing to really ask them for as the place is so perfectly set up and all the instructions and directions clear from the start. We will definitely be back!

Absolute Beachfront

ThomasRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Very good and helpful service. Clean and fresh. Incredibly comfortable beds. Plus for coffee maker (presso) and extra bath towels. The only negative was that there were only two sunbeds and that stream to the TV or Apple TV did not work. There are some restaurants on the beach that are quite expensive so we recommend renting a scooter to get to the main street where there are many restaurants with very good prices and good food. Then you can also relatively easily get to White Sand which is about 15 minutes south (however, you need to pass a mountain with fairly steep slopes).

Riviera Villa, Luxury 5 Beds, Baan Bua Nai Harn

KimRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place is gorgeous, very spacious and gives you the feel of luxury for a fraction of the price. A beautiful surprise to us was the view from the terrace overlooking a body of water. There was also a quaint neighborhood park right outside of our villa doors. The location is everything! It’s right on the strip of all the activity. More massage places than you can imagine, restaurants, and only a short walk to the beach. I really couldn’t ask for more. Where they could improve is to perhaps have better coordination with the villa chef they connected us with. I reached out several times and was left on read the first time and after following up, was told they were inquiring on the chefs availability to confirm and then never did. I asked well beyond the 1-2 day window so not sure what happened there. Also, I wish the electricity deposit was just build into the overall cost. I don’t like dealing with additional fees while vacationing. Otherwise amazing stay!

Mountain View House with Pool

FabienneRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a wonderful stay at Suratda’s place in Chiang Mai! The house provided everything we needed, making us feel right at home. A highlight was the rooftop pool, which we enjoyed during our stay. The location is a bit outside the city, offering a peaceful and quiet atmosphere—exactly what we prefer. If you’re looking for a relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle, this is the perfect place. We highly recommend this accommodation and would definitely come back!

House On The Bay

Helle Rating, 5 stars4 days ago
We had an absolutely amazing experience! From the very first moment, we felt incredibly welcome and were greeted with open arms by David and his wife. They were always available if we had any questions or needed help, which made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. One of the highlights was renting their private boat for a day. David planned a trip for us with his personal recommendations on what to see – and it was simply magical! We got to experience places we would never have found on our own, and it was without a doubt worth every penny. All in all, we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. It almost felt like visiting good friends, and we can wholeheartedly recommend booking with David and his wife. We wouldn’t hesitate to do it again!

Deniz’s Lakeside Retreat II

BenjaminRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Deniz is a great host, and great human! He offered to personally come help me when I had a minor medical issue! The house was a perfect fit for what I wanted--off the traffic roads and a bit of privacy that resorts can not offer. The balcony was my favorite, with a big super comfortable chair and a welcoming space to sit and chat.

Your guide to Thailand

Welcome to Thailand

From bustling Bangkok to captivating Chiang Mai and lost Lampang, Thailand offers a rich tapestry of experiences and landscapes for travelers ready to journey off the beaten itinerary. The country is a foodie destination, with every restaurant and home giving “classic” Thai recipes their own special twist, plus a well-loved street food scene. Shoppers indulge in designer stores in ultra-modern malls alongside floating markets and night bazaars, while photographers can fill countless SD cards with shots of glittering temples, lesser-visited ruins, lush forests, and vast historical parks.

Visitors often love Thailand’s festive nightlife, from Bangkok’s clubs to Koh Pha-Ngan’s Full Moon Parties. History buffs will be fascinated by Thailand’s rich past and vast array of architecture, from modern working temples to the picturesque ancient ruins of Siam. Luxury lovers and adrenaline seekers are equally at home in the friendly country known as the Land of Smiles. Five-star rooftop bars and world-class spas call to some, while others skydive, zip line, scuba dive, and rock climb to their heart’s content. Explore this well-traveled and world-renowned destination with every kind of tour imaginable, by bike, bus or boat.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Thailand

Thailand has high temperatures and humidity year-round with plenty of sunshine. The country essentially has two seasons: a dry season and a rainy or monsoon season. Weatherwise, it’s best to book a villa for the dry season, between November and March, which is the peak time for visitors looking to enjoy up to nine hours of sun a day. The shoulder seasons, from April to early June and late September to October, can offer pleasant weather and fewer crowds. April and May are the hottest months, whereas the months of June through October receive heavy rain, although showers pass quickly, still allowing for plenty of daily sunshine. For diving and snorkeling along the southwest coast, November to February is the best time to travel for clearer conditions and calm seas.

Top things to do in Thailand

Historic City of Ayutthaya

The former capital of Siam is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating from 1350, it’s a hybrid of history and architecture, with its myriad colorful temples rising resplendent above the tree canopy. Take in enormous reclining Buddhas, golden statues, and stupas reclaimed by majestic tree roots.

Chiang Rai

In the north of the country, Chiang Mai’s somewhat sleepier and slightly less-visited sister city, Chiang Rai, holds its own magic: the intricate and fascinating Wat Rong Khun. The modern White Temple is an architectural marvel, blending pop culture with religion in such an unthinkably delicate structure it requires a whole day to marvel at.

Lampang and the Unseen Temples

The “Unseen Temples” — (albeit seen by more than a few people now) — nestle in the heart of mountainous Lampang Province. Take a tour for mountaintop views, unrivaled peace, and a peek into the ancient past. The town of Lampang is worth a stop, with its famous traditional teak buildings and modern street art in the local market.
