Gorgeous house with tons of beautifully curated amenities that make you feel right at home. The rooms were spotless with gorgeous design and details, and the primary bathroom even had a towel warmer! The kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever need including pots, pans, baking sheets, and even a bread maker! A record player in every room with an amazing collection of music. Lots of games and activities in the den! The backyard was gorgeous and a relaxing place to hang out. If you are looking for a place to stay in Sacramento I can’t recommend this place enough. The host worked with me to make an early check in possible and was extremely responsive.

Entire Luxury Apartment in Downtown Sacramento

PaulRating, 5 stars23 months ago
This is one of the most relaxing and comfortable and Airbnbs I have ever stayed. The host Danielle, has carefully and respectfully provided an environment that is soothing and incredibly comforting. While the kitchen and bathroom are incredibly relaxing and clean with plenty of positive aspects. The bedroom was probably the most comfortable space I have ever stayed. Danielle’s mattress has to be one of the most comfortable beds I have ever stayed in. It is also obvious that Danielle puts detailed efforts to make this a very special place for her guest. That said, her location also has many wonderful qualities. While you might want to rent a car to go see some of the sights around it is fully capable to go without a car but it would be a minor struggle. Lastly, the neighborhood is a quaint mid century community with several walkable, entertaining places to enjoy.

Modern Oasis Suite with a Luxurious Shower

JessicaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This condo is a clean and well decorated one bedroom, one bathroom second floor unit. Bogdan is a very thoughtful host, there were extra blankets, sheets, and towels, which were appreciated for my weeklong stay. I also noticed condiments and single serve coffee creamers were provided along with a small basket of books/toys in the laundry closet if you have a child visiting/staying with you. The location is in a very nice area, close to both shopping and restaurants. I thought the bed was comfortable and the shower was fantastic, and I also really liked that the entrance’s door lock code was tailored to me personally, making it easy for me to remember and difficult for others to figure out. I’d recommend staying here, and definitely book again.

Charming condo offering comfort & convenience

AllenRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Apartment was as described in the listing. Very functional and comfortable stay. Easy to communicate with Susan and the place feels very safe given the location. We were in the area visiting someone at Sutter hospital so the location was ideal, right around the corner. The bed was a bit soft for our tastes, but in reading reviews there's as many folks commenting it was perfect as there were commenting that it was soft so this obviously is a personal preference.

Marv's Mini House

JohnnyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Great location, safe neighborhood, easy to park, very quiet cute back house. The bed was clean and comfy, I think the listing said it was a queen but it was a large cal king! The layout of the space made it feel bigger, lots of open space, large kitchen and a large outdoor front patio. The hosts left the heater on so the place was cozy upon arrival, nice touch for a winter trip north. We explored on bikes and the neighborhood was in a great location to get around, bike paths everywhere, cute neighborhood spots to eat. It was the perfect neighborhood to explore the capitol. Thanks for the hospitality.

Your guide to Sacramento

Welcome to Sacramento

Smack-dab between San Francisco and Tahoe, and cut through by two big rivers, California's capital and oldest incorporated city embraces its rural past while rushing headlong into the future. Fortune-seeking Gold Rushers have been replaced by suit-wearing political strivers, but somehow this town has maintained an affable, unpretentious vibe. Upscale boutiques and farm-to-table restaurants dot the Grid — a network of numbered and lettered streets in the city center — while wooden sidewalks and historic buildings define Old Sacramento, where nostalgic kitsch rules the day.

The capitol building’s distinct copper dome dominates the Sacramento skyline, but its interior may be even more impressive, especially the 128-foot-tall ornate rotunda decorated with cast-iron grizzly bears. After touring the building, visitors pour forth into a forty-acre Victorian garden. In recent years, the dome has gotten some competition as visual mascot for the city, as Sacramento has gained recognition as a public arts hub with more than 700 murals. All of this is served among a booming craft beer and restaurant scene, concentrated in Midtown, making Sacramento an under-the-radar gem nestled in the sun-dappled environs of central California.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Sacramento

Thanks to its central inland location, Sacramento enjoys hot, dry summers — perfect for tubing on the American River or gawking at the scores of migratory bats that cluster under the nearby Blecher-Freeman Memorial Causeway. Fall and winter are cooler, with winter being the wettest season, which also ushers in bouts of notoriously dense fog. Spring is mild, and a perfect time for strolling streets lined with budding trees.

Top things to do in Sacramento

Railroad Museum

Visitors are invited into a different era at this museum that is home to 19 carefully restored steam locomotives and other grand vessels that once navigated the state’s vast rail network. You can also explore a 3,300-square-foot display of 1,000 vintage toy trains zipping past doll-sized mountains and towns. Complete your experience by hopping aboard a gondola pulled by a vintage diesel engine for a round-trip excursion along the Sacramento River.

Crocker Art Gallery

Like Sacramento, this art museum is a marriage of the past and the future. Installed inside a historic circa-1872 Italianate mansion, a bold modern addition was opened in 2010. The Teel Family Pavilion — a modernist expanse of clean lines and glass — tripled the size of the museum. Inside you’ll find a vast collection of Californian art, European paintings, and one of the largest international ceramics collections in the nation. Swing by the store to shop wares made by local artists.

Sacramento History Museum Underground Tour

Back in the mid-19th century, the youthful settlement of Sacramento was frequently flooded by the nearby river. The solution? Abandon the original city, and build on top of it. Later, excavations unearthed the subterranean city, and now you can descend below the Sacramento History Museum with tour guides dressed in period garb to explore an underground ghost town.
