Villa by the sea

LorraineRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a fabulous week and a bit in Maureen's lovely Woodbridge Island home. The house is spacious yet homely and we were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The outdoor area is very pretty and secluded and we enjoyed sitting out there in the evenings. Maureen is a warm and friendly host and always happy to help with any queries. We hope to visit again in the future!

Beach, Mountain & Pool side home - no loadshedding

RobinaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Our stay was absolutely lovely! The house offers a beautiful view of Hout bay Harbour and Beach. You can easily and safely walk down the street to the beach, to the main road. We stayed as a family with a 2 year old child and had a wonderful stay. The equipment in the house was sufficient. The location is quite windy but that is Cape Town and Hout bay. Carrie was a great host and offered all the help You need. Thanks again!

Modern Contemporary Zen Tree House Sparkling Pool

HenningRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had an absolutely fantastic time staying in Gardens! It’s just a great area with a lot of restaurants around. You can see the Lions had from the pool and be in Camps Bay or V&A in 15 minutes by car. The house is great. You basically feel like you are in Costa Rica or somewhere in the jungle when you wake up or have a coffee on the terrace. We loved it!

Palm Spring, a Mid- Century gem in Cape Town

DeniseRating, 5 stars11 months ago
It's not easy to find the proper words for this ever so beautiful accomodation. We came to Capetown for running the Marathon and we couldn't have imagined a more wonderful place to stay. Not only has Jo's house the best location (just a short walk to the start line), but it also is the most fantastic place to relax (before & after running a Marathon!). Jo's garden is a place of heaven. Sitting there on the porch, enjoying the light breeze, the sun, the fresh air, hearing the birds singing, smelling all these beautiful flowers ... this is life at its very best. And eventhough you feel so secluded, you are still in the middle of everything. Restaurants, cafes, grocery-stores are all in walking distance. Inside the house, everything is so carefully selected. It radiates pure calmness. We loved the well stocked kitchen, the bed with its soft linens & the selection of books. Last but not least, the bathtub with a view to paradise 🌸 Thank you, Jo, for sharing your gem with us.

Luxury Open Plan Family Home |8 Sleeper|4 Bedroom

GrantRating, 5 stars11 months ago
This house will not disappoint! I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. The home is spacious, sparkling, an organizer's and entertainer's dream, comfortable yet with high-end finishings. You can expect to find that this home will easily match your expectations based on the photos. We are Canadian South Africans who lived in Cape Town 20 years ago. We wanted a space to bring family together. Taryn's home provided that and more! Even though it wasn't quite warm enough to enjoy the pool, it was well maintained. We certainly enjoyed the outdoor space by the pool, sipping our morning cappuccinos. We had so much fun playing table tennis, enjoying a braai and chatting in the spacious living room. The home is centrally located for seeing all the sights but neighbourhood dogs barking sometimes disturbed the sleep for light-sleepers. Even though all bedrooms are upstairs, we appreciated having a full bathroom on the main level for the less mobile family members in our group.

Silvertree Villa

WillemRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Had a wonderful stay, just too short! The house was so conveniently located close to wine farms, golf courses, nature trails and even beaches 10 mins away. The host was very helpful with advice and tips where to go and quick to respond to any queries. Everything has been thought of and well communicated in the welcome pack - I did not need to ask for anything! This house really offers everything you need! I’ll be back!

Stunning home with pool and view of Table Mountain

MichelleRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We recently stayed at this property with four adults and two small children and were delighted by our experience. The accommodations were perfect for our needs, offering not just cleanliness and security, but also a thoughtful setup that included two camp cots and a beautiful wooden cot, which were ideal for the kids. Despite its proximity to a busy street, the property felt peaceful and secure. Both check-in and check-out were seamless, thanks to our friendly and knowledgeable host. The house was stocked with every little thing you could possibly need—from wood for the stunning fireplace, to pillows and noodles for pool fun, and even handy extras like a lighter and a sewing kit. Absolutely nothing to complain about (except maybe the non-stop wind during our trip, but that can't be helped!). We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a hassle-free and comfortable vacation experience. Cant wait to come back!

Sun, Sea & a Wood-fired HotTub in a Downtown Villa

AnnaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Wonderful house, amazing views, well equipped, comfortable, spacious and secure. Hosts were very informative, communicative and helpful. I would highly recommend this house. We were 6 people. It sleeps 8 comfortably plus a couple of kids in the bunks. Plenty of room for all. We enjoyed the pool table and dartboard. Didn’t use the hot tub as didn’t really have time. Loved the outdoor seating area and hammock. It’s an easy walk down to shops/restaurants. Harder going back up the hill. (Ubers are VERY quick and cheap though. Make sure you have the app.) Thanks to our hosts.

Centrally located entire apartment

PatrickRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Stayed here for over a month and loved it. Large, light and well equipped with a great shower, and well-located near Kloof street, right by a great supermarket and walkable to all the best stuff in the area: restaurants, bars, shops, the Labia cinema. The designated parking space was perfect and the weekly cleaner really excellent. Rita, the property manager, was responsive and helpful and fixed stuff quickly. I had an issue with noise from unexpected building work next door but was offered a discount which I thought was a good solution. Highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed my month-long stay at this amazing one-bedroom apartment. It was clean, there is an abundance of towels and my bed was changed weekly. Everything works beautifully. It is a short walk to grocery stores, a shopping mall, restaurants, ATM and coffee shops. The view is spectacular! I visit Cape Town often and plan to rent this apartment again.

Your guide to Cape Town

All About Cape Town

South Africa’s breathtaking scenery and bustling cosmopolitan energy are perfectly encapsulated in the sprawling city of Cape Town, one the country’s three capitals. From the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain to the panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Cape Town has no shortage of impressive sights to see — not to mention a thriving cultural scene that’s quickly transforming the city into a veritable metropolis.

Whether your perfect day in Cape Town means touring the city’s top wineries or tucking into crayfish hauled directly from the sea to your plate, you are sure to find something to hold your attention. Spend easy days sunbathing on white-sand beaches, go snorkeling at Pyramid Rock, and if you are interested in checking out the local wildlife, head to the Boulders Penguin Colony to see some 3,000 African penguins.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Cape Town

Due to its Mediterranean climate, the city typically enjoys warm, dry summers from December to February and cooler, wetter winters from June through August. Cape Town Pride takes place every year at the end of February and is a celebration of the LGBTQ community. Tweede Nuwe Jaar, or Second New Year, happens every year on January 2 and is one of the longest-held festivals in the city, which sees the capital turn into one big carnival with parades, dancing, and traditional music. It’s a celebration of freedom and hope and continues to educate locals and tourists alike on the area’s history.

Top things to do in Cape Town

Neighbourgoods Market

Neighbourgoods Market, tucked into the trendy Woodstock neighborhood, is a buzzing food market that has quickly become a symbol of the next generation of South Africa’s diverse culture. Wander between stalls, snacking on everything from burgers to vegetarian cakes, before checking out the wares from artisans and local designers that set up shop there too.

Table Mountain Cableway

Named for its flat top, Table Mountain is one of Cape Town’s most iconic destinations. Whether you make your way up by foot or by tram, ascending the 3,562 feet to the top is an essential experience. There are a variety of trails up the mountain that vary in difficulty. But the easiest, fastest, and arguably most scenic way up is via cable car, which will have you soaring high above the rocky valley, with the sea on the horizon as you climb to the peak.

Wander Kalk Bay

This seaside suburb is beloved for its trendy cafe scene, quirky vintage shops, and English-influenced restaurants to grab a bite. You can spend an afternoon strolling along the shore, perusing bric-a-brac and antique treasures behind colorfully-painted facades, and end the evening with tea and fish and chips.
