Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Ruapehu District Council

That's exactly as what we are looking for! Big enough for every of us, open view face to the golf course that we are going to play next morning, too short to enjoy our stays as we've been busy to finish our golf trip in only 2 days inTaupo (Kinloch). Looking forward to book here again when I have a chance in the future :)

Charming, and large house, amazing views of the lake from the upstairs bedroom. Quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds and full kitchen. We enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very responsive. Enjoy!

We stayed for one night while travelling down the North Island. The house was easy to access and was fully fenced which was ideal as we have a dog and 2 young children. The place was clean and tidy and was family friendly.

Lovely large old villa. Well insulated with great heating and cooling ammenities. Large rooms with very comfortable beds, even the bunks have quality mattresses. Very clean throughout. We only stayed a short time but would love to come again and be able to enjoy the outdoor space and lounging, it’s very large, private with large gardens and trees.

We loved our stay, such a relaxing and peaceful place and a lovely walk to the lake. We enjoyed relaxing in the spa in the evening. Cute bach which had everything we needed.

This was a great place to stay close to Tongariro National Park. The house was comfortable and had good amenities, the location was excellent, the snacks/spices/teas and such available to use were really nice, and we loved the fireplace!

Great home for families with good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. The living space was very comfortable, and the addition of a range of family boardgames was great. The home is set in a quiet tranquil area overlooking forest/bush which provided lovely walks. Easy 10mins walk to Carrotland which is an an awesome adventure playground and activity area with pump track, bike tracks, playground etc. Our 7yr old loved it. We had some issues with running water when we arrived but Charlotte was super responsive and helpful and it was all resolved within an hour...and Charlotte provided a wee gift basket (nibbles and wine) in acknowledgement of our being slightly put out. Charlotte was very thoughtful and responsive in managing the whole issue. We will absolutely stay again. It was a lovely comfortable home.

We loved our night here, was so cosy and the kids loved the toys.

Beautiful destination and amazing views of the lake. The Espresso Coffee machine was the cherry on top!!! Plenty of parking which came in handy, very clean for a place allowing pets (we were anxious about our dogs playing at the lake and going in the house wet and dirty, but cleaning equipment came in handy). Pizza oven was a nice surprise, and we had the more luxurious lifystyle for the weekend thanks to Karen and Matts dream destination.

Belinda’s place was beautiful. We loved the deck and the window seat - just such peaceful views over a lake Taupo. This place is a few kms out of Taupo town but worth the few minutes in the car! Beautiful neighbourhood! House was gorgeous with everything you need. Beautifully finished with lovely quality linen and accessories. If you’re reading this - just book it - it does not disappoint!

We had a lovely stay at Danni and Rod's place. The cottage is super cute and is in a great location, near the old town and in walking distance to some beautiful trails. Kids loved having the big backyard to explore! Thanks for a great stay 😊

Stunning view of Mount Ruapehu as you drive to Ohakune! Great region to explore or rest for the night! Kate has a guestbook with everything you need to know about her place, recommendations of where to eat, and what to explore in the area. We needed a night’s rest before driving to Auckland all the way from Wellington, and I’m glad we chose her place. 5 stars!

Comfortable and cosy. Lovely spa pool and fire with firewood and kindling ready to go. Only complaint was the dim lighting in the living area which made reading and board games hard to see. Other than that, we loved it and would recommend to others.

I stayed in Kosbys Cottage for 2 weeks in the New Zealand summer to hike in Tongariro National Park. The cottage was a large space for a solo traveler but provided a nice kitchen with adequate pots, utensils, and so forth for meal preparation. It was a very pleasant space to relax in after a long day of hiking, and rest days were pleasant with a large sofa for lounging and large dining room table for working and eating. Notes for future guests: the New World grocery in Ohakune is large enough to shop when you arrive; the front door was locking automatically every time the door closed so I was very careful to keep the key with me at all times to prevent lockout; read the cottage information on the refrigerator for helpful tips. I used the woodstove early in my trip when the nights were cold and it kept the cottage warm and felt like part of the adventure. Sara was responsive to my questions. I would stay here again for a long time.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and well-equipped property. The house was spotless, cozy, and perfectly located—close to town yet peaceful with stunning views. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the outdoor area was great for relaxing. One highlight was the spa pool—a great addition to the property. However, the water felt a bit over-chlorinated, which meant we couldn’t stay in for more than 10 minutes at a time. That’s just a small detail in an otherwise perfect stay, and I’m sure it’s something that can be easily adjusted. Overall, we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ohakune. It’s a wonderful spot, and we would happily return in the future!

Beautiful location looking towards Ruapehu - so majestic! Loved staying in a Yhurt!

Our stay at this stunning home overlooking Lake Taupō and the golf course was nothing short of incredible. The views in every direction were absolutely breathtaking, and the home's design, furnishings, and fittings were all top-notch—every detail was perfect. It truly felt like a dream to wake up in such a beautiful space each morning. This was, without a doubt, our best Airbnb stay ever, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to call this place home for four nights. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

Second time at the cottage. Is becoming our go-to in Ohakune. Very comfortable stay. Great location. Great hot tub.

Really lovely place! We wish we could have stayed here longer. Unfortunately we checked in late and had to leave early (due to our poor planning). So we recommend guests try to maximise their time here to fully wind down and recharge. The cabin was beautiful and gives you an opportunity to disconnect. We took the opportunity to use the candle light only (you can still use power if you need to, but we chose to immerse ourselves fully in the experience). The outdoor bath was a great addition, and we enjoyed being able to use the fireplace for extra ambiance. Oh and if it is a clear night -you can enjoy all of the stars. Definitely recommend!

We stayed at Pumice during the off-season for Okahune, so the vibes may be a bit different during the Winter months, but our stay was super relaxing. Pumice is obviously gorgeous and the design was well-crafted. The kitchen has everything you'd need to cook a meal (we cooked thrice). The shower is lovely and I'm sure the heated floors only get better in the winter months. Evan is super helpful and kind - don't hesitate to reach out if you have concerns during your stay. Okahune in the off-season doesn't have a lot going on, but you should still check out the Carrot park - it was a highlight of our stay as we just kind of stumbled upon it. There is also a small disc golf course within a 5 minute walk if you're into that. Be sure to grab a latte while you're in NZ - I feel like every place we went made the best latte I've ever had and the little store in Okahune was no exception. Grab an eclaire while you're there.

David was an awesome host we arrived late but he didn’t mind and was most accommodating and friendly very cool guy highly reccomended

The lodge was everything we needed for a boys weekend away. Will be planning to go back in the future
