Family-friendly vacation rentals in Rolleston

We loved our stay with Kaye & Johnny, super thoughtful and friendly hosts. The place is lovely, in a great location and well equipped. We had everything we needed and more, including fresh fruit, bread, milk, butter, jam and all coffee/tea things we needed. A water dispenser was also provided which was another thoughtful touch. Kaye & Johnny were very friendly hosts, as was their little dog Billy. We appreciated being able to use their hot tub/spa too. Also, we were able to check in early after our long flight. Thanks so much guys!

I stayed here with my bridesmaids the night before our wedding and it made a wonderful backdrop for our wedding photos. Beautiful home, very spacious and had everything we could have possibly needed. Great communication from the hosts and the house was lovely and tidy. Would love to stay again!

What a rare gem. Private, peaceful and filled with all the amenities one would want after camping out for 2 weeks throughout New Zealand. Ryan clearly has a love for the rare birds and weaves together the unique geology along with the Māori cultural uses. We were super grateful to happen upon such a special lodge.

This was our first air bnb experience. Cabbage tree retreat really felt like a wee retreat with the bedroom area’s veiw of the garden. We are a small family of 4 the space was not too big or small. Well presented, very clean. Vicky did so well to maintain contact with us while she was away, she gave us an abundance of info on things we could explore nearby and around chch. as well as general info. Theres a nice space right outside the main door where our kids played soccer and explored the garden 🪴 The spa is soooo yummy to wind down in after a long day! Overall it was a really nice stay, beautiful peaceful place to be 👍🏽

What a wonderful stay! You are greeted right away by her warm welcome! This stay was beautiful! Gorgeous grounds, and a very quaint and cozy inside. Heather went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great with all of her personal touches and communication.!

Tanya could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. Birdsong Lodge was everything I hoped it would be and true to description. It is truly remarkable what Tanya and Ron have created. The work, love and care that has gone into this beautiful bush setting is astounding. Highly recommended.

Lynnie was a wonderful host! Her hospitality made our stay incredibly special. The place has everything you could want, including a cozy fireplace by the bed, stunning views of hills through the forest, and a truly magical atmosphere. It’s ideally situated for nature walks right outside, or a quick trip down the hill to town. Taking a hot bath outside the hut, enjoying fresh eggs in the morning, and listening to the beautiful birdsong was a delightful experience. Looking forward to seeing you again soon, Lynnie!

A spectacular stay in Lyttelton! The location is off the main drag and quiet, yet walkable to restaurants, pubs and shoppes. The house is clean, comfortable and has everything you need to feel right at home. Host Frances met up with us for check in and had freshly baked orange ginger date scones waiting for us. Oh, and did I forget to mention the view? Incredible view of the port and marina, beautiful at sunset and sunrise. Overall an outstanding stay, delightful host and excellent location. Highly recommend!

Wendy's place was just lovely. We stayed 4 nights. It was spotless, quiet, nicely furnished and very comfortable. Everything needed was provided- utensils, kitchen appliances, extra linen, kitchen supplies, toiletries etc. There was a lovely basket of treats on arrival as well. Wendy was super responsive and helpful. She also allowed us to check in early which was great. The townhouse is very quiet and felt safe. It was also a walkable distance to town. We thought it the best Air BnB we have stayed at. Thanks, Wendy.

The place was quiet and very easy access to the park across the street. Great for families and those with pets!

Nice quiet little spot in lovely Lyttelton. 15 min walk to downtown (downhill there, uphill back), or catch the bus to city center Christchurch. Just $4 each way and a half hour. My second stay in Lyttelton and I’m a fan. A rich history here and more and more good food, drink and an art scene. Great place to base your exploration of Banks Peninsula.

Had a great stay at Jen's. Felt really comfortable there and we were settled in nicely when arrived. Apartment was well equipped - had everything we needed and more. Especially appreciated having the dog there with the fully fenced back yard. Location was superb - great views and access to dog walking spots.

Jule's place was beautiful and the perfect stay for our group of 4! Jules was great at communicating about the accommodation and the Sumner area. The space was very spacious, with a clean living, kitchen and bathroom area. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very cosy. Our group was thrilled to stay there and we can't wait to come back and enjoy the accommodation and the Sumner area again. I highly recommend booking this place!

Sue & Greg's place was so relaxing after a long day of driving in the rain. The bed in the enclosed bedroom was so comfortable. We were grateful for food when we arrived and the homemade quiche, muffins, and rhubarb for breakfast. Breakfast also included toast, granola, yogurt, cereal, milk, fruit, tea, and coffee. I wish we could bring our kids and grandkids and swim/hot tub.

I can't thank Louise enough for our wonderful little homely and private cottage in the autumn trees, showering yellow leaves over the garden. Rose Cottage is just pure magic at this time of the year, especially if you are a keen photographer as l am: While it is close to the airport it isn't in the flight path so there's not that much aircraft noise, and it is close to supermarket, coffee shops, etc. Louise and Matthew are wonderful hosts and I highly recommend their property to anyone visiting Christchurch and wanting something just a slightly bit different :)

Beautiful place. G Maps gives you the wrong location. Follow the street numbers. Comfy beds and enjoyed reading the history of the house and comments from other guests. Gardens are beautiful and the native birds put on a beautiful show.
