We love Holy Island and this was our favourite stay of all, the accommodation is perfect. The property is really nicely decorated, incredibly spacious and has every amenity covered and then some. It couldn’t be situated any better and the views out the back towards the castle are stunning. This is a place we will most certainly come back to and would highly recommend to anyone, it’s brilliant!

Miss Rankin's Cottage was a delight. The place was exactly as described - in a remote and beautiful part of the Scottish borders, with lovely walking and cycling nearby. This was just what we were looking for. The house was clean and well presented. Very warm and comfortable, and with plenty of running around space for the dogs. Kitchen was well equipped; we didnt need anything that wasnt provided and the instructions were comprehensive. Liz was helpful without being intrusive (she lives next door - although you can barely see the house from the cottage, it is only a stones throw away) There are sandy beaches and cliff top walks less than 30 minutes drive away and we even managed part of a day in Edinburgh, which is just over an hour. We could have stayed longer. Very nice and comfortable for a quiet stay away from it all for a few days. Thank you Liz.

Gorgeous log cabin in a peaceful location. Hot tub was amazing. Good location for star gazing. Excellent afternoon T at the Running Fox. Good, home cooked food at The Village Inn, within walking distance of the cabin, but the first part of the road is not well lit so a torch is needed.

We had a lovely weekend in Portobello Edinburgh and Julie's place was absolutely fantastic. Very homely and cosy. Julie even made sure the heating was on for our arrival. There are loads of great places to eat within short walking distance and plenty of shops very nearby. The beach is a few minutes walk away. I'd definitely recommend staying here and I'll be back again soon.

This was an unexpected treat. A glorious location above the river, a delightful cottage which was beautifully furnished and equipped and extremely clean. We all loved it and will definitely return .

Stayed here for a second time in two weeks on our way back from holiday in Scotland (having stayed on our way up too). Spotless and cosy as before although weather had cooled a bit (last weekend of Sept) so was a little chilly at night even with the heater on. Worth noting for late autumn/winter stays. Great to see Mike again - top host. Also it’s worth the half hour drive to the Drover’s Rest pub in Monkhill with its great range of draft beers from local independents, amazing 10 inch hot dogs and ridiculously friendly staff. Also great for dogs. We had a brilliant dinner there.

Excellent location. Lots of good restaurants a few steps away and a short walk to all tourist locations. Adorable, comfortable, clean, and safe. Would love to stay again.
