Places to stay in Rio Vista

I booked Michael's place for a visiting relative, whose plans kept changing. In the end my relative did not actually stay at the AirBNB, but I'm adding this review to show that our experience of the booking and communications was only very positive. Michael was patient in adapting to our changing plans and very clear in communications.

Wonderful trip staying at this property! We loved the accessible location and the charm of the building---and several friendly cats outside! The owners were flexible with timing and very responsive. Very spacious as well and the TV had every channel under the sun. BEST part was the kitchen, equipped with super high-end appliances and a fridge to die for---exquisite! If we had a quibble, it would be the shower water pressure, but that is to be expected in older buildings. Overall, this was an A+ location. We will book again soon! Thank you!!!!

Amazing Home. From the interior design, to the cozy backyard hammock, this place is a 5-star home. Little things you would never imagine, like eucalyptus in one of the showers. I'm already looking at their calendar for future stays. Stores and restaurants only 2 min away - great location. Easy drive right off the highway. The pictures are nice, but the energy you feel upon entering is something few images can capture. Great communication. Host went above and beyond to help make our trip one for the books. I've been doing airbnb for a long time, both as a guest and superhost, and I can say this is one of the best stays and host experiences.

Booked this place for a girls trip. Location was amazing and easy to walk to downtown, with plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and shops. There were 4 rooms and we were able to fit 8 adults. Two of the rooms are smaller, but the living room and dining spaces were very comfortable and that’s where we spent most of the time when we were at the Airbnb. The host was very responsive during our trip. We would definitely come back again!

This place was very comfortable. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bed is great, the linens are soft and high quality. It was quiet at night for sleeping and the location was great (close enough to easily bike to the main square in Sonoma), but also some nice restaurants closer. We had coffee and a simple breakfast there every day and they've got all the things you need for that although washing dishes in the bathroom sink wasn't totally ideal. There's nothing to be done about this, it's just the limitation of the space but it's something to keep in mind if you think you'll eat meals there. But yeah overall this was a really nice play to stay!

Michelle is a great host and the cottage was lovely! The garden is gorgeous and there are lots of places to relax outside. I felt very welcome and taken care of! It was not an issue for me at all, but the location is a little ways out from the action and there is not a lot close by. On the plus side, it’s relatively quiet, cozy, and relaxing! I enjoyed the hot tub both mornings I was there! Overall , a very pleasant experience!

Place was perfect for us. If I'd been more astute about reading how to enter the smaller house, I wouldn't have had trouble getting in. Both houses have the same # address, but the host was very articulate in explaining how to get into the smaller house. It was really my error. The location was terrific, as we had ridden bikes so didn't have access to a car. We rode into town for dinner. It's a super quiet and comfortable place.

Idyllic cottage respite. Rustic, not rusty! Feels worlds away in the countryside yet just two miles or less from wineries, restaurants and downtown/Sonoma square. Minimal kitchen (small fridge) but can accommodate lighter fare such as sandwiches, yogurt/parfait for bfast, charcuterie, or take-out (bring back and eat on the lovely wraparound porch, watch an amazing sunset and listen to the peaceful nightlife). Four people max — trundle and one queen — but it was comfortable and a wonderful setup for our needs. Dim bath lighting but fixable. Very fluffy towels and nice linens, plenty of seating for inside or outside dining/lounging. Hosts are on property but unobtrusive/unseen. We were greeted with a beautiful bottle of wine and some light provisions to help us unwind and settle in. Definitely would come back. Thank you, Kathleen!
