About Airbnb.org

Airbnb.org is a nonprofit organization that works with other nonprofits, governments, and resettlement agencies to provide people with temporary housing in times of crisis.

Through current programs and former initiatives such as Frontline Stays, we’ve worked with communities to help people in times of crisis since 2012.

How Airbnb.org relates to Airbnb

Airbnb.org is an independent nonprofit organization with its own board of directors, but Airbnb covers its operating costs so that community donations go even further to support people in times of crisis.

Airbnb.org is a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to organizations with 501(c)(3) status may be tax deductible.

How you can help during a crisis

You can support Airbnb.org by hosting or donating. Hosts may choose to host Airbnb.org stays for free or at a discount or donate a percentage of each payout. Airbnb waives all host and guest fees for Airbnb.org stays.

Participating hosts receive an Airbnb.org supporter badge on their profiles to recognize their contributions and help spread the word to our community.

If you need help in a crisis

Airbnb.org offers free or discounted temporary housing for people displaced by humanitarian crises. To do this, Airbnb.org works with nonprofit organizations and resettlement agencies that connect people to temporary housing, resources, and specialized support in times of crisis.

Airbnb.org doesn’t currently provide a direct intake process for individuals.

Airbnb.org guests may be required to set up an Airbnb account, which may include verifying their identity.
