Hosting takes time—but once you get the hang of it, you can optimize many aspects of your routine. That way, you get to focus on creating a memorable experience for your guests.

Streamlining your cleaning routine

Setting up a cleaning routine helps make turnover tasks easier.

  • Consider hiring a professional cleaner to help maintain consistency.
  • Choose bedding and towels in similar colors, so you can wash them all at once.
  • Keep an extra set of bedding and towels on hand for quicker turnarounds between guests.
  • Plan for a regular deep clean to make cleaning easier between stays.
  • Schedule a recurring order of your go-to cleaning products and other essentials, like toilet paper and soap. This can save time and help you avoid running out of supplies.
  • Buy in bulk to stock up on the items you and guests go through the most, like shampoo and conditioner.

Communicating clearly and effectively

Responding to guests’ messages doesn’t have to be time-consuming. Using Airbnb tools can set up more efficient communication with guests.

  • Download the Airbnb app to reply promptly. Opt in to push notifications and keep your device handy with the sound on.
  • Use scheduled messages to share certain details when guests are likely to want them, like confirming that guests received check-in instructions the day before their stay.
  • Set up quick replies to respond to common questions faster by writing answers in advance. The Messages tab automatically suggests which one of your quick replies may best apply to a conversation.

Creating an effortless check-in

Simplifying check-in can help your guests feel welcome. Consider adding a Co-Host to help manage your listing and reservations.

  • Use the Arrival guide in your Listings tab to add important details, including your check-in method and time, directions, house manual, and wifi password.
  • Opt for self check-in—using keypads, smart locks, or lockboxes—to save time and give guests greater flexibility.
  • Provide a house manual to share instructions, like how to use amenities or access wifi.
