Family-friendly vacation rentals in Rangárþing ytra

The cottage was exactly as described, perfect quiet location overlooking the river. Check in was very easy. We received an email before arrival from the host with clear instructions for check in and locating the property. The kitchen had everything you would need for your stay and the whole property was spotless. The hot tub was great to unwind after a full day exploring. The host was very responsive and checked in with us to make sure everything was good which it was. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

We’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnb’s but this was our favorite so far. Absolutely beautiful location, isolated and peaceful, but we still could drive to all of the activities and sights we wanted to do. The house was amazing, comfortable beds, great shower, and of course the hot tub!

Brilliant location in the middle of the golden circle for seeing and doing everything, Can be tricky to find first time with certain navigation apps, I would suggest a what3words location or a shared google pin, Good amenities and facilities in the cabinet, The hot tub was great to sit out and see the northern lights, Took us awhile to fill up and get the correct temperature but once sorted you get amazing views of the sky The two single beds pushed together were very comfortable, A second pillow would have been a nice touch But overall really good place, Lovely cabin, Good amenities and amazing location:)

We absolutely loved staying here! It was easy to get to in winter with 4WD and was a lovely location to watch the northern lights (there is not much light pollution). We visited in February and watched the lights from the hot tub multiple nights in a row. It is also the perfect location to visit the three 3 major attractions on the Golden Circle (Thingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss) as well as other Golden Circle destinations. They are all within a 10-30 minute drive. The house was clean, warm, and inviting. The welcome book and “leaving Uthlið” book was very detailed and well thought-out. Everything in the house was in its place as the notebook and instructions stated. Palmi and Vala were very responsive and had great recommendations. 10/10 Highly recommend!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here while we were in Iceland. The host was communicative, responsive, and accommodating. He met us at the local gas station to guide us to the house because it is located in a remote area nestled within farmland. The house was clean and comfortable. Hot tub on the patio was a great way to relax and unwind after a day of exploring Iceland.

Very nice house! Great location in a very calm and beautiful environment. We enjoyed the jaccuzzi and the outdoor shower. We’ll come back if we ever visit South Iceland again.

Amazing place. We sat in the hottub at night with - 10 degrees while it was pitch black. A moment we will never forget. The place looked even better than on the pictures. We cooked at the place two nights, the oven is amazing and all the equipment is there. Linda responded very quick and was very nice. Thank you Linda!!

Stina's cabin was perfect for what we were looking for. It was a great base for exploring the south coast of Iceland. Sveinn communicated well and was very accommodating. It was warm and cozy in winter, and we were able to see the auroras on our last night.

Loved our stay in this beautiful home. It was toasty warm with lovely outlooks and space yo relax while still feeling part of the beautiful scenery. The house was well equipped. The host was very responsive when we needed some help to work the hot tub.

A beautiful little cabin in a gorgeous area with stunning views. I used this as my home base from which to explore the Golden Circle. The cabin was clean and tidy, the kitchen had all the basics, and there were some lovely touches including chocolate bars, some seltzer, a full carton of milk and cereal. And the heated towel rack was an incredible luxury that I used every day! Sylvia was not there and did not respond to my message telling her what time I would arrive, but her very nice and helpful husband Gylfi greeted me when I arrived and gave me a tour. He also came out to say goodbye when I left and we had a nice chat. I would like to have used the hot tub but it wasn't especially clean. I ended up at the nearby hot pot Secret Lagoon anyway, which was great, so it was not a big loss.

Lovely cabin we saw the Northern lights from the hot tub. private and quiet Relatively close to Golden Circle attractions Selfoss and Hella.

Kids enjoyed the most because of the PlayStation .We loved the cute radio playing in the morning during breakfast and the coffee machine was perfect ! We were very comfortable in your house . House was perfect for a family of 4. Also loved the attractions folder . We enjoyed the Mexican food from the food truck company and the ice creams from the local shop. Watched a nice movie together last night . Was home away from home . Thanks a lot .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and it was nice to have additional amenities to use, particularly a washer and dryer. Our favorite part was the hot tub! We would definitely stay here again.

This house was perfect. The hostesses met us when we arrived, gave us instructions on things they wanted us to make sure we knew (for safety and such due to the temperatures), and spent around 2 hours giving us a tour and history of the house. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed and they were so thoughtful with all of their recommendations for activities with our children. We 100% recommend this house to others and we will be coming back in the future!

Burma’s beautiful home is ideal for anyone who wants two bathrooms (hard to find in Iceland) and plenty of space. It’s in a quaint small town very close to the Golden Circle and not far from Selfoss, which has more substantial amenities. Easy drive to Gullfoss and Geysir, and a small grocery is within walking distance of the house. The views from the sunroom are beautiful. The kitchen is modern, functional, and spacious. The outdoor area, including the hot tub, is wonderful in the evening. The nearby restaurants, including those in Reykholt, are wonderful! We highly recommend this place for people who want extra space and don’t want to stay in the busy capital city. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!
