Smoking friendly vacation rentals in Puerto Plata Province

This was our second stay (3 years apart) at George's place. We went back for a reason. He's got a great spot with up to two bedrooms (king beds & ensuites). Love the ground floor, private access and the 15' to the infinity pool. An elevator takes you down to the large, private beach (there is no external access because of large, natural, volcanic rock barriers at each end. There are two outside showers to rinse off sand. The area is a group of resorts set off from the main highway making it somewhat private and a good security detail ensures only guests are on-site. There is a large, modern kitchen & sitting & eating area, with a powder room. There are ceiling fans everywhere and air-conditioning in the bedrooms. A barbecue is also supplied in the private entryway. The Laguna Grotto bar/grill serves excellent food, reasonably priced. All staff are courteous and well-trained. The drive from the airport only took about 25 minutes. Drive carefully.

Great place great value will stay again

came here on a solo surf trip, it was perfect. I wanted a low key place that wasn't a resort. This is a one bedroom apartment in a quiet safe location tucked away with a great outdoor space. The kitchen has all the basics to cook your own meals. The AC works well, it's in the bedroom only, but the house was cool when I came back from the beach every day (with the AC off), there's also a clean pool to cool off in. There's a fan in the kitchen as well if you need a breeze while cooking! The shower has hot water and decent pressure. Easy 5-10 min walk to the food park, a bakery/breakfast, and 2 convenience stores, and an ATM. Most importantly it's a 5-10 min walk to the beach. Absolutely highly recommend for a solo traveler/couple. I felt safe here and walked to the beach alone and to/from the shop at night. Eve was soooo helpful and very responsive! Her place looks exactly like the photos. Thank you so much Eve!!!

We had a great stay in Puerto Plata. The apartment is really small, but we spent most of our time outside. It's just across the street from the malecon, (although there's no windows to see the ocean). Everything is walkable; restaurants all around, less than 10 minutes to a supermarket, or the downtown tourist area. Some family came in on a cruise ship one day, and it was only 20 minutes to walk to the port to meet them. Half an hour walk down the malecon takes you to Cosita Rica beach, with wonderful white sand, chairs, umbrellas, restaurant... The hosts were the best ever! They even met us at the bus station and helped us with our bags. Very friendly and kind. They have a couple other places in Puerto Plata; we'd recommend them any day!

My family and I were very comfortable in Ronaldo's apartment. He also has good customer service and is very family friendly. The location of the apartment is incredible. The only downside for us was that it doesn't have private parking and we should park on the front street. And of course we would return to this property.

I could write an essay about the hospitality I received. Will definitely be back. Love the security of the place. Only complaints I have is the size of the pans that were available but that’s only cause I cook for myself. Although considering how responsive they were I’m sure I could’ve gotten a bigger skillet if I asked. Great place and location will definitely be back soon. Highly appreciative of Mairobi.

The accommodation was in excellent clean and hygienic conditions. Quite quiet, ideal for resting. 100% recommended. The host is always attentive to any concerns

If you’re looking to visit Puerto Plata and want to have enjoyable stay, packed with activities. You’re in the right place! Definitely good value for your money. The photos don’t do justice to the house! Totally enjoyed our stay and Franchesca’s help was a huge part of it! Her recommendations are superb! We definitely would be coming back and staying at Franchesca’s.

We loved the villa, just like the photos. Marcelina is always attentive and pleasant, I would definitely come back.

Place was as pictured. It is out the way but still less than 15 minutes from the action. The back up generator kicked in each time the lights went out. the hot water was on point, we enjoyed the pool and just sitting on that front patio. The living room area could use a ac unit but if you open the door the cool island breeze did just fine would suggest some type of net so when you open the door the wasp don’t get in. Overall a good experience. I would stay again

The house was pristine and clean. Its a beautiful house even better than the pictures. The code to unlock the front door was a bit difficult at times I believe the batteries died so after a while it stopped responding and i had to use the backdoor. It would have been nice to have a manual key 🔑 and unfortunately It was very difficult to sleep at night sometimes because of the neighbors dogs right outside the bedroom window barking throughout the night but quiet during the day😵. Sometimes the whole neighborhood of dogs would howl until someone would yell or bang for them to shutup.🤦🏾 The house and host were great but the barking dogs ruined my stay.

Beautiful apartment and friendly hosts who were great at communicating and super helpful. Things to know - they have a water pump, so water pressure was not great late at night. One bedroom has no central air, but the other two do. Apartment is on the top floor, so know you have to take stairs. Overall it was a good experience. Very happy to find a place local to the umbrella steet and pink street, and some really good restaurants. Happy too with the hosts and the information they provided.

A great apartment with a great pool. It was as described and I was enjoying my stay until AirB&B extracted me without an explanation. The host asked me to stay more than once after AirB&B told me to leave without an explanation!

I had a wonderful 2 weeks in this green paradise! The bungalow is very clean and spacious with good illumination . This time of the year you can watch sunrise right from the bed. There are 2 bungalows there which are separated by green fence of plants and a swimming pool, so you have privacy . And it's very peaceful and quiet there all day long . It's just a gem ! Babette was very helpful with every little detail and she went far and beyond by picking me up and dropping me off at the bus station . Very recommended !

Martin is a great host, he invited me out for a drink when I arrived, and on arrival he provided a few nice welcoming drinks and toiletries. The pros of the apartment were the cleanliness, the air conditioning, the swimming pool, the apartment complex is similar to a hotel so there are places on site to get food and drinks. It's also a nice place to meet people as there is a fun atmosphere around the place. Martin the host is also great at responding to your messages and always tries to help out with your questions. The cons are the wifi, the wifi is better in the bedroom but not strong enough in the rest of the apartment if you're going to work. If you're there on holiday then its no problem. The wifi around the complex works great though, by the pool, in the reception etc. And Martin did his best to offer alternative places for me to work. And also having to pay for cleaning the bed sheets was a con or not having them replaced. Overall, I would recommend staying there for sure!

Excellent apartment which is exactly as described on Airbnb, super cozy and good quiet atmosphere to spend time with family and babies, it is a safe place, very central, from the apartment you can get anywhere in a few minutes, in addition to Hector being a friendly, attentive and responsible host. We are very happy and will be back.
