Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Pointe aux Canonniers

Had a pleasure to stay for almost a month at Geraldine's lovely countryside house (or "barn", as the name suggests). The location of the house is hard to beat: it's on the second line from the ocean, surrounded by lovely mansions and right in front of the kite surfing school. Geraldine has managed to accommodate all our requests in an expedite manner and did not leave us in problem, despite certain complications in the village of Grand Gaube. Please bear in mind that Grand Gaube is a fairly authentic Mauritian village, not yet invaded by tourist crowds - as a result, certain amenities regular for big cities are missing here (e.g. a breakfast spot with decent coffee, a modern co-working space, etc.) - thus, renting a car would be a sensible choice.

Our stay in Mauritius was simply magical and unforgettable! We would like to express our immense gratitude to Jeeten, who was much more than a host: a true friend. He organized extraordinary activities, welcomed us with incredible warmth and provided us with invaluable advice. Thanks to him, we were able to rent a car without worries and fully enjoy the island. The villa is a true paradise on earth, sublime and perfectly maintained. A big thank you to Yogita for her delicious little dishes and for taking care of the house with so much dedication. This stay exceeded all our expectations and will remain forever engraved in our hearts. We will come back without hesitation and recommend this place to anyone looking for a dream stay! And thanks to Thierry who was proactive and helped us prepare for the stay! Go without a second thought!

We loved Julien’s place! We travelled with 2 children and the house had everything we needed. The ocean is literally at the end of the garden, you don’t have to pack a lot of things to go to swim just grab a towel, which makes things much easier with kids. We really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful garden, gorgeous pool, very peaceful and relaxing. The apartment was well equipped with everything you would need. I would recommend this apartment and Florina was very helpful.

This is a fantastic place. Everything we hoped it would be. The gates to the grounds have security. It’s very private, secure and peaceful. The place is better than the photos. Management is first class, we hade Fiona looking after us, which made the stay very relaxing, knowing support if needed is on hand. Fatima came in 3 x week to make sure the place was clean and tidy, which resembled hotel service. This is a very well run place to ensure your holiday goes the way you want it. The location is brilliant with access to Grand Baie for restaurants and beautiful scenery as well as Choisy Beach which is our favourite beach. Plenty of supermarkets around to get essentials and food, as well as shopping malls. We can’t rate this place enough.

Great stay at Nisaar's place! The location was perfect with a nice breakfast restaurant just 2 minutes away. All our needs and requests were met in a timely manner, Nisaar was responsive and helpful. The villa had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Will definitely come again. Thank you, Nisaar!

An absolutely gorgeous house in a great spot overlooking the sea. Located by a nice quiet beach and close to a great restaurant. 2 lovely nice pools. Comfortable beds. Lovely bathrooms. Large house with really plenty of space. Well equipped practical kitchen. Very clean and tidy and Jocelyne who takes care of the place was very nice, kind and helpful. We have absolutely nothing to complain about and had an absolutely wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

We are regulars in Mauritius and this stay is the best! The Villa is quiet, no noise (just the birds and the sound of the wind in the palm trees) and at the end of the street the Wynners supermarket and the beach a few minutes' walk away. The Villa is spacious, tastefully decorated, the materials are of quality and the bedding is perfect. There are all the kitchen amenities you need for a stay like at home (even the Christmas tree). Hosts Dean and Tanya are charming, incredibly kind people and available for any questions. We were even invited by Dean who owns 2 superb restaurants in Pereybere, we had the privilege of discovering the delicious cuisine that is served, Thai and Mauritian cuisine. You can go there without a second thought. Our only regret is not staying longer. Thank you so much Dean and Tanya, thanks to you we have unforgettable family memories.

We were very worried when we booked the place, it turned out to be in vain. We were met by the host and he showed us around. The apartment had everything you need for a long stay. I want to pay special attention to the super-soft bed. We slept like babies, it was even better than at home. The apartment is absolutely clean, we did not have to tidy it up. The host responded quickly to any questions and there were only positive memories from communicating with him. If we come to Mauritius again, we will most likely choose this place.

Great stay, Zozi and Kesley are very nice! They lent us a canoe (and life jacket!) and "escorted" us on our first outing! The neighborhood is very friendly. The accommodation is very well-equipped (for example, mosquito nets are installed in the bathroom and bedroom, at this time it was so hot that we used the air conditioning instead but it is certainly very useful at other times, although we did not see so many mosquitoes while we ate all the meals on the terrace), It's clean, well organized, there are even books in all languages! It is located a few meters from the main street but it is very quiet (birdsong...) In short, a very good stay!

Beautiful apartment with a beautiful garden and swimming pool. The house is drowning in greenery, next to a coffee shop that is open from 6:30 am and you can buy fresh pastries. The apartment is equipped with all amenities for your stay - a kitchen, air conditioning, 2 fans. Everything works, the water pressure in the shower is excellent. Towels are provided, both beach and bath. The assistants look after the apartment and do the cleaning. The hostess is very responsive and friendly. Recommended!

The apartment is fantastic, it was at a great location. We visited several beaches but the one around the place is one of the most beautiful ones. The apartment is well equipped, we really felt like being at home. We got absolutely clear instructions in a timely manner. We had a really super stay here in Mauritius.

The apartment is peaceful, quiet but too big for 2 people Norbert is really a simple guy, kind and was responsive to our wishes, when you have a problem you call him, always available. The only thing that bothered me: the ants on all the plants, but as they say: you're in a hot country so it's normal. Other than that, I have no complaints. 2-3 things that were still there but I told Norbert directly.

We adored our stay in this beautiful apartment! It was so relaxing with all that we needed and such a great setting with the pool and beach. Marie-Claire was a great host with clear communication! We'd absolutely come back again!

Sita gave us an excellent welcome. The accommodation is spacious and has a huge, very pleasant terrace. Shops are nearby but it's best to have a car. A large shopping mall and Grand Baie are 10 minutes' drive away. Mont Choisy Beach is also a 10-minute drive or 25-minute walk away. Thanks to Sita for hosting us and for being available.

i stayed with a friend for a week and we really felt comfortable:) the accommodation is very spacious and offer everything necessary. also the location is very nice, right on the beach. the host was really great, accommodating and helpful with questions of all kinds!! we would come back anytime

Stayed at Geoffray's apartment for a full month It was an amazing stay we felt very much at home as soon as we arrived It's just a 5 minute stroll to a lovely beach and easy access to local buses . there's a local min market just up the road or a short bus ride to a very large supermarket for a bigger shop should you need it Geoffray's Mum & Dad were so lovely very helpful and on hand should you need anything We would highly recommend a stay here it really was the best Thanks again for an amazing stay Pete & Greg

Great stay at Sanjay's! The place is comfortable, clean, located in a very peaceful and beautiful neighborhood. The beach is very close, the bus is about ten minutes walk to Grand Baie or Mont Choisy. There are other properties in the building but no promiscuity, the shared pool and garden are very nice. It's just missing a place to put a table outside so everything is perfect! Definitely recommend.

Such a luxurious quiet apartment. We fitted with all our kids very comfortably and all slept so well every night for a week. Walkable to a great bakery, restaurants and cafe and the pool was so close to apartment which made it very easy. We will definitely be back again as the host and location and apartment were all amazing.

Had a fantastic time staying at Florian’s place in the SKYROOM. Amazing views from the balcony and all the windows! The only downside is the neighborhood as there isn’t much going on nearby, but luckily a lot or amenities is only a 20 min drive away!

Damien and Fred are always welcoming. My plane was late I arrived at 3 am I was afraid to be in front of the door, but Fred was there to open the accommodation for me, thank you so much! Enjoy your stay!

We had a great time. The accommodation is perfect, in a great location, there are no downsides. Sabrina is extremely friendly and the exchanges with her were very pleasant. I would recommend it in a second, we hope to come back. 🤞🏼
