…We thought from previous reviews this would be an awesome weekend getaway by the lake, but this place was in bad shape. In good faith, we alerted the owners about the condition right away, but they didn't seem to care and did nothing. We've rarely given bad reviews (almost never) but in this case we feel we should warn others as we were not warned. First, the whole place had a bad musty mildew smell that was quite overpowering. The hosts said they've never smelled that. Next, we found mouse poop scattered in one of the pans we were about to cook with the owners response was "whoops, we must have missed that when cleaning." next there were stains all over the bottom of the shower and water damage stains all around the roof, especially in the master bedroom. granted it had rained a lot that week so maybe this was news to the owners. Next, my daughter fell through a chair when she sat on the patio furniture out back because it was so old. I could go on, but just wanted to say buyer beware…
