Cabin vacation rentals in Orange County

My fiancé and I had a great time at this wonderful place. Our dog took lots of naps by the fire, and so did us. I’m looking forward for our next adventure in this place.

Melissa’s listing was a great find during a time when there very few places to stay in the greater Vermont area due to the solar eclipse. She was very responsive even before we reached the Airbnb, gave very useful advice about getting around and local attractions, and had a beautiful space for us to enjoy a weekend trip.

Perfect and comfortable house to enjoy my long weekend visiting family in the area. This house has everything a small or larger group would ever need. Desirable location and close to surrounding towns, restaurants and the best pancakes found at the Barnard General Store! Already planning my next visit !

We loved Angela’s home and we so appreciated the thought that went into all the little details including the labeling and even “river” towels. We have a very old family home 15mins down the road and it was wonderful staying so close with more updated amenities than a 200yr old farmhouse! Our dog Roux loved tormenting all the chipmunks and we would love to stay in the future! For any future renters - Check out the Wild Fern, Roma’s Butchery and Windy Lane Bakery. If you’re a baking fanatic like myself - make the 35ish minute drive to King Arthur Flour and take the backroads not the highway!

Our stay at James's cottage was a great experience in a beautiful location right on Lake Morey. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed from a well-appointed kitchen to the large screened in porch to the outdoor decks, dock and raft. The cottage faces west, looking out across the lake, which afforded us some beautiful sunsets. There was ample room for five of us to play board games or to find a quiet place to read a book or to kayak, swim and fish. James was an excellent host; he was very prompt and responsive with his communications. We had a wonderful family vacation and would definitely consider returning there in the future.

Beautiful place, quite area, super cozy for two people. Wintery drive in and out during late December, bring 4WD/AWD and your winter driving skills (or sense of adventure). If you love nature and quiet time, this is a great place. This cabin is warm (upstairs is slightly cooler unless you run the wood stove for a while) , has very hot on-demand water and a nice memory foam bed in the loft. All of the hosts were proactive with car requirements, cabin instructions and anticipated our arrival, standing by to help if we need assistance in the snow. Local grocery store suggestions were also helpful for planning the drive in from the airport (sent in advance of course). We had cell service at the cabin (not on all roads nearby) and the WiFi worked perfectly. Strongly recommend you download offline maps for navigation in the general area, service drops (as it does in mountain areas), GPS signal did not appear to be an issue. We loved the whole experience, looking to come back to VT again!

Super underrated place! Gorgeous property and the cabin is very comfortable. Has more than what you would need and the host was so nice! Perfect place to relax and adventure from!

I and my guests were extremely happy with our accommodations. We had a wonderful stay and Carol’s home was exactly what we wanted, quiet and secluded.

If you’re looking for a respite from city life, look no further. Quiet, rural, beautiful surroundings. We were here in winter and we kept the wood stove fired up using the plentiful supply provided by our hosts. Kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. Wifi worked admirably. Plenty of space for us to relax, read, write - everything we wanted to do on our little retreat. Emily was a terrific host, responding to our needs. Highly recommended.

Peaceful getaway spot! the Labounty cabin is located on a hilly windy gravel road across the street from a dairy farm. so quiet and relaxing here! the inside of the cabin is very cozy and homey, with plenty of room for hanging out and a well-equipped kitchen. Host Kevin was very responsive, before and during our stay. Lovely little lake with a sandy beach only a few miles away, which he recommended when we asked where we could take our little toddler for a swim. All in all, a lovely place to stay when you need some peace and quiet in beautiful Vermont. (Though the Wi-Fi connection was excellent, for when we did need to be connected to the outside world.) 😃

We were visiting for my son’s graduation from Vermont Law School. The house was very conveniently located to the school (7 minutes) and had plenty of room for the whole family! We enjoyed the pond, did a little fishing and enjoyed kayaking on the pond. The house had just about everything we needed. The only issue was that the wifi was a bit unreliable at times…but we were able to reset the router, though we had to do it several times over the course of the long weekend. Despite this, it was a delightful stay!

Cute River cabin with excellent views to the beautiful sound of the river. The cabin is an updated renovation. The owners are constantly upgrading the property. It is our second time staying here. It is a great place for a quiet getaway.

This home was a great oasis for my 3 grown children and myself for the thanksgiving holiday. Some of the family lives in the neighborhood and my kids grew up nearby so we were all very much at home. The house was warm and clean, the beds comfortable and the location ideal. We had a snowstorm which made is all feel cozy and full from Thanksgiving with family. Rhiddi was very easy to communicate with, friendly and clear. Would recommend!

Staying at the Black Haus has become a tradition for us, and it’s easy to see why we keep coming back. Each visit feels like a brand-new adventure, with the house offering a perfect blend of cleanliness, comfort, and character. It’s clear that every detail is thought through to make guests feel welcome and relaxed. Agnes is the heart of what makes this place so special. Her attentiveness and warm communication make every stay seamless. The location is another major draw. The Black Haus feels like a secluded hideaway, but it’s just a quick drive to Rochester’s excellent restaurants and local charm. Having that combination of privacy and convenience is such a rare find, especially in the heart of Vermont. Every time we visit, we leave with unforgettable memories and already start looking forward to our next trip. This place truly has a magic all its own!

The host was so helpful, it was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen appliances were brand new and it was all very comfortable. Lovely surroundings and a super place for kids with lots of toys and amenities.
