Don't judge a book by its cover. This older home's interior has been lovingly restored and refreshed with great attention to simplicity, comfort, and quality. It is spotlessly clean and located close to town and restaurants in an established neighborhood. The only issue we had is that the heating system can't quite meet the demands of frigid temps. Faith, who is unbelievably responsive, has mitigated this known issue with space heaters, which helps (our bedroom was fine with the additional heat). However, be aware that if it's super cold, this may not work for you. Regardless, we had a 5-star experience. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the spacious kitchen has everything you need--the view from the window while standing at the gorgeous farmhouse sink is straight out to the Blue Ridge. The towels are plush, the bathrooms sparkling, and the thoughtfully curated art, wall colors, and furniture are beautifully simple and harmonious. One of our best Airbnb stays by far.

I would rate this house a 5 out of 5. The house looked just like the pictures . It was very clean . The host was very responsive, she was great. My family enjoyed the fire place located on the side of the house . There appeared to be a spider issue in the house . We saw a couple and had to kill them. The shower in the basement was very small. Besides that my family and I had a great blended thanksgiving and would definitely rent again . Thank you for everything Angela !!!

The farm was fun and the house was big and nicely decorated. Having bathrooms in each bedroom was a plus. The beds were comfortable and the linens were a good quality. The host had the house decorated for Christmas, which was perfect for our away from home celebration. We used the numerous gas fireplaces often. Although you can't walk anywhere (except around the farm, bring carrots for the horses), the town of Orange, Montpelier, and the Barboursville winery were a relatively short drive away. Only real downsides were that the living rooms needed more couches and seating, and the kitchen needed more plates and silverware. To end on a positive note, there were three sizeable eating areas, a formal dining table with seating for 10, a nice casual table with views of the farm, and a round table looking out on a courtyard perfect for breakfast and playing games. Overall, a great experience.

A great mountain getaway. Cozy gas fireplace (one touch and it’s on!!), wall heaters abound and even a firepit (AC if you want it). We cooked at home every night in the well appointed kitchen and huge fridge. Super handy to wineries, hikes, views and all that the region offers.

A fantastic stay! Super clean and well cared for house, comfortable beds, and wonderful outdoor spaces and waterfront. A great lake getaway spot for small families. Note that most bedrooms (except 1) are up a creaky spiral staircase - easy for us but could be a challenge for some folks.

Tracy was very welcoming, informative and accommodating. She was very available if we had any concerns. We were planning a boat trip on the lake and she helped coordinate a boat rental that led to a lovely day on the water. Her mom is cozy and tidy and we felt very comfortable there.

The home was exceptionally easy to access and the location on the lake was beautiful. Chad was an excellent host. The home is away from hustle and bustle of Fredericksburg but close enough to get out and enjoy plenty of restaurants and shopping

This was a wonderful stay - the house is gorgeous, the beds are comfortable, there is a lot of room for two families, and a well stocked kitchen - and it is all set on beautiful land. We all loved greeting the horses each day, and walking the grounds, discovering the streams, and enjoying the wildlife. Thanks for a lovely stay!

This lake house was beautiful with excellent views. Eric was very communicative and accommodating, offering early check in and local recommendations. There would have been more to do in the warmer months but it was still nice for a winter getaway.

Great stay. Lovely property and Sam was easy to communicate with. Lots of great wineries and restaurants in the area. Just be aware it can be muddy due to the dirt road and parking area. it is red clay so bring appropriate shoes/boots for the season. Would definetly stay again.

I had a great time staying at Sharon’s! The place is spectacular and peaceful. My family and I went over to spend the weekend, Sharon was responsive and helpful. The house was clean and comfortable, and everything was as described. I’m really happy I chose to stay in her home. I would 100% recommend it. Thank you, Sharon!

The one bedroom cabin was simply awesome. The grounds, views and pool were amazing. 11/10. Gazebo was another perfect addition for outdoor space and activities. Can’t wait to get back and reserve the other spaces there - 3 bedroom cabin and large house sleeping 12. Awesome time in Somerset!

Our stay at Bloomingdale was wonderful! You could feel the history of the house. It was well appointed with a beautiful kitchen looking over the fields and an open living and dining room. There was also a large den and another parlor on the main level for get away spaces. Upstairs beds were comfortable and bathrooms were plentiful. We had a great stay and didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend.

This stay is one of my favorite places. The house is super charming. Their theme of “the lucky duck” goes nicely with their “squeaky” clean place. (Pun intended). The hot tub was frequently maintained and sanitized, and was sparkly clean. Not many places have such a perfect house combined with a hot tub! The community was safe, with a guarded gate. The kitchen was very well equipped, as was the rest of the house. These hosts are very thoughtful with what they provide the guests. For example, there was a step stool in the bathroom which allowed my kiddos to reach the sink. I could stay there forever! The kitchen is the cutest kitchen, with charming vintage touches, and every gadget/appliance/utensil you could possibly need. Highly recommend.

We came for my 60th birthday and to hike Old Rag in Shenandoah National Park. We loved the location and the brew pub in the expansive property which we went to one night. We loved the fire pit in a full moon night. The only hiccup was the hot which was a disappointment considering it was my main search requirement. It wasn’t working but it was not due to disrepair and the host did everything to get it working. Just bad luck. The beds were very comfortable and the living spaces were perfect for our crew. Could have happily spent several more nights there

Andrew's place was a magical location. Everything was great. He responded right away and we loved staying for 3 weeks while waiting for our new home to be ready. The neighborhood is very quiet but very friendly. Waking up in the morning on the lake was serene. The location is amazing!!! Everything we needed was available in the kitchen. Very roomy! We would stay again for sure !!!

John's place was where we based family for our wedding at a local Vineyard. The place is located well in Somerset with access to many local vineyards. We went into Charlottesville for dinner one night, and if you have a car the distance isn't a problem. The place is super clean and the kitchen is great for making a meals with friends and family. Will be back for weekend getaway some time.

Mandy’s is the best place to tune everything out and relax in the calming surroundings of the Blue Ridge foothills. A small haven for people, pets, farm animals, and wildlife- this neat little retreat offers all you need to regain a little sanity from a loud and crazy world.

A group of 6 adults stayed for weekend. Place was perfect for what we needed. Comfortable, clean and private. I would definitely recommend this great little home.

This was a beautiful place to stay. The hosts thought of many things to make us feel welcome and cozy in their home. You allowed our trip to be smooth sailing and provided a place for us to relax between activities. We were extremely grateful to have such thoughtful and amazing hosts. This home was great! It was perfect for our trip to our friends wedding. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It was very clean and was just as it was pictured. We were very happy with this home and would recommend to anyone staying in this area.

Our group of four families, including a gaggle of kids (infant to 9yo) all LOVED this house and beautiful property!! The weather wasn’t great but there was still plenty to do both indoors and out. Kellene and Berry were all around great hosts! We hope to return!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Carlene’s. The apartment was very pleasant, clean and comfortable. The welcome basket with breakfast items was thoughtful and appreciated. The property is lovely and serene with hilltop views and grazing cattle. We traveled with our dog and it worked out well.
