Family-friendly vacation rentals in Oakwood

We needed a quiet weekend away and this cabin was perfect. Loved the hot tub on the deck under the stars.

We booked Mark’s place for a trip to the Atlanta area to see friends. The home was quiet, peaceful and clean. Mark was very responsive and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!

The place was great and super clean. Close enough to town, so you can walk and no need for a car ($10 for full day of parking in town). The loft was awesome since you can wake up with the natural lighting coming from the window, and the bed was comfortable. The downstairs room was great as well. The shower was on the smaller side, and we wish it had a different shower head (like the one with a hose), but overall, very clean and comfortable bathroom. The jacuzzi was great and spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kitchen had everything except a pizza pan, but we managed to make a pizza with a metal tin the oven had inside. Overall was a great experience; the place was really nice, cozy and comfortable. It was close to town, but it was far enough that it was quiet, so we had a really good night of sleep. Definitely recommended and would go back.

We had a great extended weekend! Had to cancel our original trip to western North Carolina due to Helene but still wanted to be in the mountains. This fit the bill! We chilled for a couple days, played alot of pool, used the hot tub and cooked in. The kitchen had everything we needed. We visited the Georgia Apple Festival, played putt putt, visited the Bigfoot museum and ate out at Blue Jeans Pizza and Pueblo Cantina in Elijay. Both were great! Made lots of great memories 🥰

We had an amazing time here at this beautiful cabin. The host had clear instructions on how to get access to the rental, and they were extremely friendly. The cabin has a wonderful atmosphere and amazing amenities. We encourage everyone to who wants a peaceful experience on an affordable budget to visit this cabin. On top of all of this the beautiful town of Helen is only a 10-15 min walk. 10 out of 10 !!

Our family had a happy holiday getaway at this Soaring Hawk mountain home! An amazing view greets you upon entrance to the beautifully decorated and cozy cabin that matches the photos posted online perfectly. The check-in and check-out process is simple and any question you may have has already been answered for you on a refrigerator note, along with the owner’s contact information. We had everything we needed for a memorable, quiet, and stress free vacation! Went for a quick getaway and Lisa's home was perfect. Its a great place for family's with children to enjoy. Great for a couple to split. Bring everything you need. The road down would be impassable for a small car but SUV's are fine. They have the home well stocked for cooking and games for the kids. There are kayaks and a gentle flowing river right in front of the home. Extremely private and quite there. Fire pit and everything you could need. This home should be in Southern Living its so beautifully decorated. Would definitely recommend. Lisa was a great host and got back to me quickly with any questions.

We had a wonderful week in this home. There were 4 adults and 2 teenagers and 1 dog. All of us found spots to relax. It’s been about 2 weeks since we were there, and what stuck with me was sitting in the back porch in the mornings listening to the birds and watching the great blue heron. If I could change something about the house, I would have 2 bathrooms upstairs, but I know that would be an expensive investment. It would also be great to have more places to hang towels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Off the Grid! Greg’s cabin is definitely a slice of heaven and we are so grateful he chooses to share it with others. We hiked the property and surrounding areas. It’s super private, we had no problems locating cabin with Greg’s instructions! There were some pretty severe storms our first night and Greg checked in with us and was responsive to any needs. Cabin was super clean…this was the perfect space for our boys (8 and 11 year olds), our two dogs and my husband and I! We hope to stay here again in the very near future! Here’s to more adventures ahead at an amazing cabin!

Pamela is an absolute treasure - she is a wonderful human being and a fantastic host! It was my third stay at Pamela's apartment and I cannot praise her and her beautiful apartment enough! Pamela always goes out of her way to make your stay as comfortable as possible and to help in any way she can! The apartment is absolutely perfectly equipped - even for a longer stay like mine. Everything is spotless clean and you feel that the apartment is designed with lots of love and thoughtfulness! I loved the wonderful surroundings where you can spot beautiful animals. Here you are definitely able to have a serene and peaceful stay! And yet, you are only minutes away from all the shops and amenities you find in East Cobb and Roswell! And if you want to visit Atlanta, the location is perfect as well! I can only recommend Pamela and her gorgeous apartment! I definitely will be back! Thank you so much Pamela! For everything!

For our first Airbnb experience, it could not have been better. My husband is handicap and downstairs was perfect for him and his rolator/walker. Wide doors and step-in shower. Thank you so much!!

I took my teenage daughter and her friend for a 'girls' weekend' at the lake. Karen's place was absolutely perfect and she was an exceptional host. We did have a small issue with the AC, which Karen corrected immediately. She was very responsive, very friendly, and very accommodating. (Plus this AirBnb comes with a DOG!! Sam is the sweetest goodest boy). We would definitely return to Karen's place and highly recommend it.

Loved our stay at Habersham Mill. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and sitting on our porch listening to the river. Gorgeous, unique space. The host provided everything we needed.

David's basement was as described and is in a private quiet area. Plenty of places to shop and eat nearby. David's girlfriend, Sandi, was extremely accommodating and would check in on me periodically to ask what would make my stay better. The hosts are very communicative and I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a clean and peaceful home away from home.

FABULOUS stay at Lisa Marie's home. We have stayed at multiple AirBnBs and this home is hands-down one of the best. Lisa Marie's home is spacious and elegantly decorated--feeling elevated and luxurious while still comfortable and homey. We enjoyed the tranquil backyard--it feels extremely private and is truly an oasis with all of the separate outdoor spaces to enjoy. We loved the hot tub! The kitchen and bathrooms are immaculate and clean, and the master bedroom is truly a treat. The home is also quiet and spacious and was perfect for our group for each person to have their own space and privacy. The biggest treat was the extra playroom nook for our young children, they loved it and all of the toys thoughtfully placed for them to play! Lisa Marie stocked each room and bathroom with plenty of soaps, conditioners, shampoos, and the kitchen was well-stocked with every item you could need for cooking/coffee making. If we come back to Atlanta, we'd absolutely love to stay here again!

Ms. Carla was a great host she went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Her apartment is exactly as described it was so beautiful. The kids loved the movie theatre. We had to stay here as our home was under construction and it was our home away from home. She was an amazing host and I would come back. I can not express enough how thankful I am for Ms. Carla.

Terri was a wonderful host. She gave us hiking and restaurant ideas and was accommodating to our 1 year old who can be a handful. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Big Canoe.

We had a great experience. We met with two of the Porters Brothers and they were easy to work with. They accommodated each of us with early check in and late check out. This was a lovely place to stay. Perfectly accommodating. If the stay involves anything medical, the Northside Hospital is only about a 7 minute drive. A gorgeous neighborhood with tons of trees, flowers, and birds for a relaxing recovery. Very peaceful with hospitable hosts.
