Chalet vacation rentals in Northumberland Strait

Get some real R&R at this hidden gem, Port Hood Island’s only AirBnB. Arrive by boat which was a great adventure to kick off the trip. Hop around the trails and beaches in the golf cart which also handles luggage and supplies. The house is well-stocked with a thousand pieces of decor to remind you of the island’s fishing history. The charm of a well-built, well-loved Cape Breton home with some original doors, cabinets along with some modern upgrades. Dishes, housewares, appliances and furniture were more than enough for a small crowd. Lots of sofas to gather round, one table for games, another for dining and a third patio table on the deck with the most peaceful view. The only screen you’ll need is sunscreen (but Starlink is onsite for rainy days). The beds and linens were comfy, the bedrooms were spacious. New windows and an open concept made the space bright with spectacular views from all sides. You’ll never find a better host. Agnes was caring, helpful and felt like family.

My family spent one week at Yves cottage and loved it! The cottage had everything we needed and my children loved all the toys and games. The view was amazing and we loved kayaking around the bay. Yves was very quick to respond to any questions I had and was very helpful

The little cabin on a breathtaking PE beach had absolutely everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly even though it was unseasonably cold and rainy most days. I can only imagine how beautiful it would be in the warm summer months. We walked the dunes, visited light houses (one just a 1/2 hour walk down the beach), experienced a Nor’Easter gale, golfed a world class course (10 minute drive) on a glorious sunny afternoon, visited the Green Gable historic sites and soaked in the big tub after shopping in Charlottetown (40 minutes away). A holiday to remember fondly. We have already recommended Brian’s BnB to other members of our family.

We had a great stay at Sam and John’s place. 2 families with 4 kids and they just loved playing outside and having epic hide and seek battles in the house. The house had such a great, relaxing vibe. We came to go skiing but the co dictions weren’t great and nobody minded at all because the house was so awesome. John was great to deal with. We will definitely return!

Beautiful spot and sure would love to enjoy it in warmer weather. Still enjoyed the beautiful home with wood fireplace and well equipped kitchen. Enas home is very welcoming and perfect for a family. Stayed at Thomas' place while in town for kids St. FX ring ceremony. Great private and quiet location, loved the wood stove and hot tub! About 20-25 min drive into Antigonish, but nice to wake up to an ocean view! Would stay here again and sample more gin!

We absolutely loved Scott and Renee’s place! The house is stunning - inside and out - and the property and view was beautiful! The location was perfect and allowed us to do day trips all around the Island. Easy communication and check-in too. Would highly recommend! Thanks!

Tin Roof Landing is beautiful place to stay with some friends and relax for a fall weekend. The hosts were very responsive to any questions we had, via texting through the app. I would definitely recommend this place to stay as a getaway with your closest friends.

So peaceful and quiet, it was just what we needed. Beautiful country side, and only 20 minutes to most things we enjoyed, The Blue Mussel and Chez Evonne's were great places to eat. The owners were never on our doorstep, but right handy when we needed anything. Thanks for one awesome vacation John, Charlene and family!

Derek's place is a perfect authentic chalet with modern amenities in a beautiful natural setting. Inside was spotless and had everything we might need. Our dog was happy to play in the nearby stream and watch the birds flying to the feeders. It was a great base for visiting Guysborough and Antigonish/New Glasgow.

What a beautiful spot!! Hilary's cottages are bright and airy, with a wonderful view of the water. It's very peaceful and quiet. It was very easy to find and all instructions provided (both in advance and printed out in the cottage itself) were clear and complete. Hilary was very responsive to messages and super understanding when we made a few changes (like adding and then later removing a couple other guests whose plans kept changing). Would very much recommend these cottages!

We were here during the month of October 2021. For weather in October, it was incredible and being here close to the water made it even better. Cap Pele itself is a pleasant little town and it seems that most people speak both French and English. We did a lot of walking and there is plenty of opportunity to do it here, especially along the beach with its views of the water. Sometimes thought I was in an Alex Colville painting.

We had a lovely stay at Marina's chalet! This one was spacious for the 4 adult couples we were and each had their room closed. The location is beautiful with its breathtaking view of the peaceful bay where we were able to observe seals every morning and several kinds of birds. We had brought our paddle boards to enjoy the bay, but Marina also offers boats to sail on the water (kayak and canoe). Since the listing is located in a more remote area and in the forest, there were plenty of mosquitoes, especially in the evening. It also takes a car to get to the more tourist attractions. In short, Marina's cottage is a great place to rest and enjoy the splendid views that characterize Prince Edward Island so well! Thank you Marina for a lovely stay with family and friends!
