A Hard Day’s Night - Lakefront with private dock

AlissaRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We loved our stay here! The AirBnB is small and quaint, but has everything you could need. It was clean and had some additional games and puzzles for entertainment too. We loved spending time on the dock enjoying the views and nature. There are a lot of stairs to get down to the dock, as they show, but they are safe and the views from above at the house paired with the dock on the water were worth it.

Lake Life Luxury w/ Beautiful View Balcony & Pool

KennethRating, 5 stars2 months ago
This was a last minute (literally) trip to Cherokee Lake and Bob and John were very responsive and the check-in instructions were very easy to access the gate and the front door. The space was exactly as described on the listing. It was only 2 of us so we can't speak to the comfort of all the rooms but there definitely wasn't a shortage of space. It's a very large condo and a large family would still feel comfortable here. We visited in Feb so we didnt use the pool or the lake but if we venture back we'll definitely check to see if Bob's place is available.

Cozy Lakefront Cottage with Mountain Views

SaraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This cabin is exactly as described. It looks just like the pictures and the water level of the lake was exactly what they described. This get-a-way was exactly what I needed, kayaks, hammocks, peace and quiet. Driveway is a little tricky/ steep. I would definitely stay here again.

Lakefront Douglas Lake Sevierville, Tn

AlyssaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This cabin was absolutely gorgeous. It was private but still close to all of the action of Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg. We got to take advantage of fishing and sitting out in the hot tub watching the rain fail. It was very relaxing and a perfect couples getaway. I would definitely stay again - especially when the lake is higher!

Cabin 2/2 w/ game room & hot tub - No Cleaning Fee

KarenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This place was phenomenal - it was a short (25-30 min) drive from the tourist areas, surrounded by gorgeous countryside, streams and mountains. The house was easy to get to, and parking was ample and a breeze. I lost cell service, but they had a sign and a notebook detailing the login information for the WiFi, which was easy to log into. All information is neatly provided in the notebook, which was awesome! There is a partial wrap around porch with a locking gate (perfect for kids) at the top of the stairs. The porch has a grill, hot tubs, table, seating and a swing to enjoy the views. The hot tub was AMAZING - and the Edison bulb lighting made it peaceful and relaxing. She has a full kitchen that has everything we needed, and everything was in great condition. The living room furniture is beyond comfortable and well kept, and the tv system was a breeze. The game room was an absolute hit with my family! There is a dollar general less than 10 mins away if you need groceries!

SUNNY DAZE ON NORRIS LAKE WITH PARTNERING MARINA

MelanyRating, 5 stars2 months ago
My family and I had a wonderful stay šŸ¤— The cabin is beautiful and cozy and the view was stunning! We spent a lot of our time out on the balcony enjoying the view, walking our dogs around the area and in the living room watching movies šŸŽ„ Only complaint is that when we arrived after driving 15hrs to get there, the cabin was unfortunately dirty. Very dusty, dirty bathrooms, bedsheets were stained and did not look or smell washed at all, trash and clothes left over from previous guests were littered on closet floors. It looked like the cleaning crew was not in the mood to do their jobs šŸ˜… We arrived around 6pm, very tired from our trip and had to put all our bed sheets to wash and clean all the mess left behind :( Our host was kind enough to refund the cleaning fee. (Also the WiFi was VERY slow) But we did not let any of that ruin our trip so overall we had a great time! 🌟

Momma Bear Cabin w/ secluded site

JacobRating, 5 stars18 months ago
Not a bad deal for the price. Cabin is not insulated and get's cold at night. I'd recommend a few blankets or sleeping bag in the colder months which I believe she recommended. You need to meet with the owner at check in where she goes over rules etc. She also drove by to caution us about the campfire in the presence of winds. Overall, I felt the property was well worth the price.

Mountain Cabin Home

LauraRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Cindy’s cabin was a little slice of heaven. We stayed the week between Christmas and New Year’s and had such a relaxing time. Even though the town itself was very busy we felt peaceful and cozy in the cabin. The place was decorated so beautifully for Christmas and we felt right at home. I would not hesitate to stay here again. The location is perfect for families who want to go to all the attractions in the area because most of them are one or 2 miles away at the most. We can’t wait to stay again soon.

My family loved this cabin, its location and amenities (hot tub, fireplace, fire pit, foosball table, grill). The cabin was clean and exactly as pictured in the posting. It was close to everything but still in the mountains with a beautiful view. Zach is an attentive and responsive host and provided all the information we needed for the stay. I highly recommend this cabin for a comfortable and relaxing stay!

Your guide to Norris Lake

All About Norris Lake

At the foot of the Cumberland Mountains, with the vibrant town of Knoxville to the south and the Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area to the north, Norris Lake is one of the more popular recreational destinations in Tennessee. The lake’s 800 miles of coastline are studded with several state parks, small communities, bars and restaurants, and more than 20 marinas with boat rentals available. Rent a boat from one of the local outfitters, and you can explore various coves and bays by motorboat, kayak, or canoe. After a busy afternoon on Norris Lake, you can enjoy a meal from one of the floating or waterfront restaurants, many of which offer boat parking and live music.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Norris Lake

The northwestern regions of Tennessee have a varied and temperate climate, with distinct seasons and moderate changes in weather throughout the year. Summers on the lake are hot and humid, with occasional rainfall and long sunny days that are excellent for getting in and on the lake. If you’re traveling during this time, you may want to check out the Fire on the Water Fourth of July Festival, a fireworks display on the lake’s western shores.

The shoulder seasons are great times to visit as the crisp temperatures make for excellent hiking weather through the adjacent Big Ridge State Park and Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area. The fall is the most visually stunning time of year, with autumn hues of orange and red decorating the rolling landscape surrounding the lake. The winters can get quite cold — though they rarely reach freezing temperatures — with roughly the same overall levels of precipitation found in the summer.

Top things to do in Norris Lake

Museum of Appalachia

The Museum of Appalachia is a 65-acre recreation of a pioneer-era village and one of the area’s most expansive and detailed historical sites. You’ll find dozens of historically accurate structures here such as barns, schools, and cabins — along with hundreds of thousands of artifacts, including instruments, textiles, and art — from pioneer settlements and regional Indigenous tribes.

Big Ridge State Park

More than a dozen miles of hiking trails wind among dense hickory forests, along meandering streams, and through lush valleys in this state park along the southern shores of Norris Lake. You can cool off from a long hike by swimming at the beaches here, or make use of the many public sporting courts and facilities.

Paddling on the Lake

Motorized watercraft are the most popular kind of boat on Norris Lake, but exploring the coasts with a kayak or paddleboard provides a unique way to experience the area. Hundreds of coves and inlets around the lake — most only accessible by water — house dramatic rock formations, waterfalls, and secluded beaches. Paddling your way around the sights allows you to access several inlets too small for larger motorboats to enter, creating a truly intimate and tranquil experience on the lake.
