Family-friendly vacation rentals in New London

This is our fourth year coming to this property. We originally booked it with friends during the pandemic for a home with lots of outdoor space and a great layout for families traveling together. We have come back ever since. The house is wonderful, the pool is phenomenal, the location is great, we love it so much. I hope I’ll be leaving many annual reviews for years to come!

There is nothing more frustrating than not being able to have a decent shower while you are on vacation. That was absolutely not the case here. The hot water and water pressure in both bathrooms was exceptional. This is a great place in a great area. We will definitely try to get back here.

Keri went above and beyond to ensure I had a comfortable stay & she gave excellent recommendations for local eats. The room was cozy, inviting, warm & clean. Keri is thoughtful & offered coffee & snacks. Communication was easy & all of her instructions were simple & easy to navigate. Would stay here longer & explore the area if I had more time. Fabulous spot anyone visiting!

It was another wonderful experience staying at Patrick and Tracy’s beautiful home. They are excellent hosts who always make us feel right at home. Their home is beautiful, clean and just a great place to have our family. We highly recommend staying here!

We came as a group of friends with a baby to stay at Blake and Tracy's house, and we had a great stay. They were very communicative and accommodated all our requests to ensure our stay was excellent. They asked in advance if it would be okay for their child to stay in his room inside the house, and we agreed. We didn’t see him at all during our stay, and it didn’t disturb us in the slightest. The fact that Blake and Tracy live right next door was convenient, as they were readily available for anything we needed, but we never felt their presence. We will definitely come back!

My husband and I stayed with our 19-month-old son for three nights and it was a perfect choice! Susan had a toys and books that he loved, as well as a sandbox and pool outside - and the home was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. We used the location as a jumping off point for other activities and then had quiet afternoons at the house while my husband rode his bike (we saw lots of other cyclists!). If you are vegan or vegetarian, check out the Shoreline Diner in Guilford - it was delicious.

We had a wonderful stay at Jennifer’s place. It was.l beautiful, immaculate, and incredibly well equipped—especially for kids with the plethora of games and toys. Jennifer was responsive and a great host. The house is on a serene, dead-end street, and outdoor area is perfect for kids.

Anna and Stan's place was great, even better than described. Extremely responsive to our questions during the stay and no surprises.

Was the perfect little get away for us. And it was nice to find a place that accommodated the dogs so well. We appreciated being able to get to places easily but at the same time have a peaceful place to return to.

This was a fabulous destination! We were looking for a big place to have a special anniversary party weekend with extended family, and this house had everything we needed. Plenty of bedrooms upstairs and first floor, many common gathering areas, large kitchen and dining room tables, and lots of Space. (And this doesn't even include the explorable property outside.) The dozens of photos in the listing were very helpful, as well as the detailed descriptions. We had specific needs for elderly relatives with disabilities, and owner Lynne was so responsive in her replies to my many messages with varied questions. Truly, Lynne, you deserve a gold star from Airbnb for promptness and offering up ways and help that made our stay both easier and fulfilling.

We had a wonderful stay here! Gerard is the perfect host, very kind, thoughtful and responsive, and the house is beautiful. We loved walking around the area and the proximity to the Seaport Museum and town. Everything about our stay here was amazing!

Cabin on Little River met our expectations and more. Myself, 2 sisters and my daughter wanted a quiet getaway. A charming open concept post and beam, pine floors and wood trim, woodstove for winter, deck with charcoal grill. It's very rural and IN the woods ( so bring bug repellant). Even though the host's home is visible you still feel tucked away. Kitchen and bath are modern and clean and the beds and livingroom were very comfortable. The soothing sound of the river is always present. It was relaxing to sit down in the adirondack chairs near its bank. The woods provide a place to walk. Lake is across the road. Glenn informed us of several events nearby that we were really interested in...but we never felt like leaving the cabin! There's a big firepit nearby and wood provided. Glenn is a wonderful host. A fellow artist, I asked to see his studio on the ground level. Even bought a couple small paintings. Do not hesitate to book this place if you are looking for a quiet respite!

We had a wonderful stay at George’s. The unit is exactly as described, don’t be deterred by the adherence to the house, it’s completely private. It’s at a great location for north fork explorations and the amount of towels was outstanding!

Very nice setup for two couples, a baby, and a dog - could spread out with bedrooms and full bathrooms on each floor. Comfortable space with amenities you'd want while traveling with a dog and a baby (fenced in yard, laundry, etc). Very walkable to all the shops & restaurants in town, and easy drives to wineries & breweries. The only drawback was that it was close to a fire station and the sirens woke the baby from a nap.

Daniel's place was perfect for a weekend solo writing retreat. It had everything I needed to be able to focus and work productively: it was comfortable, quiet, and private. The kitchen had what I needed for the meals I'd brought with me, and Mystic Market was nearby when I wanted a sandwich or a wrap. I didn't use the sleeping loft; the sofa bed was quite comfortable! When I needed to take a break, it was wonderful to be able to walk to nearby spots to gaze out at the water.

This was a great place for,my family to stay while visiting in Central CT. Very walkable to downtown Middletown with restaurants and shops. Monica was very responsive to any inquiries. And a great place to stay with a dog!

I loved our stay. The game room was well thought out and had everything you can think of and need . The house is so cozy and the downstairs double bed was so soft I slept amazing I loved it! The igloo outside was the cherry on top it was beautiful .

We rented the apartment to visit with our grown kids for our Christmas vacation. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook a small brunch for them to snack on. The fenced in area, for our dog, was perfectly secure and separate from the main yard which I appreciate. Lee and Kelly were both very friendly and responsive but also gave us privacy as well. The pricing of the unit was very competitive for this area. Our dog can bark a bit when we couldn't bring him out with us so I hope he didn't disturb them too much. We never heard any loud noise from there house so for an above garage apartment, I thought that was great!

It was so nice to return to this place during a visit with my family in Connecticut. As always, it was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed cooking in the spacious kitchen each night.

Perfection. Beautiful home, amazing yard and amenities, incredible responsiveness by Anya throughout. Cannot recommend highly enough ... we will definitely be back.

This was our first time at the Barn. There were 8 of us. We had plenty of room. Plenty of parking. MaryBeth and Doug are extremely friendly. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the Barn. Will definitely book there again next year.

lovely 2 bedroom with gorgeous water views from two roomy terraces , nice to wake up to the breeze of the water and the unspoilt natural surroundings of the wild sound. Thomas was a great host and very responsive

This place is a remarkable find on Shelter island. It's a beautiful place that is very tastefully decorated. Excellent appliances and we loved the open floor plan with the large windows. The house is a short walk from the water and provides a much needed getaway from the pace and noise of any city.
