Places to stay in Mount Joy

We visit Harrisburg every year to gather with family at my brothers house. In past years w would stay at hotels but now we are needing 3 bedrooms and decided to try an airbnb 10 min from my brothers house. Johns place was perfect for us having 3 BR and 2 baths. The house is spacious and wooded with a beautiful deck and a big open living room kitchen area. We enjoyed having a kitchen and a washer dryer. The neighborhood is nice for walking. Theres a pond nearby where we saw a baby turtle. Lots of flowering bulbs and trees everywhere. Lots of deer. We styed 3 nights and it worked out very well for us. The only thing I dont recommend is drinking the tap water which is hard and metallic taste. The filtered water from the fridge is better.

Wonderful house with truly comfortable furniture. I actually photographed some of the furniture and manufacturer's tags to get those chairs and sofa for home. Mattress (king) also excellent. I stayed 5 days for work, and didn't want to leave. Super convenient for hiking on Neversink, too. It is not completely private since you may see hikers going by, and as an older female staying alone, I was aware of that. But there are plenty of shades including blackout and I got used to it. The view, before leaves come out, is awesome, the Mt. Penn neighborhood and Pagoda lit up at night, and the Howard Street Bridge, love it. Time to read the Updike "Rabbit" books again. One tip, make sure the upper shower knob is pointed down, or you will get a cold overhead blast from the other shower head. Otherwise all appliances and amenities are terrific! This is our 2nd stay @ “Pinewood Retreat” because we absolutely LOVED this home the 1st time (4/2024)!!! We love this property so much that we have decided to make this an annual family trip. The pictures are accurate & the home is lovely. It is family (kid) friendly, which is very important to us. It also has a reclining chair that is a must-have for my husband. He & I, along with our 3 adult children, their spouses & their kids will continue to enjoy this property for as long as it is available. We’ll be back in 2026…

Great family vacation spot! Close to all the Hershey attractions. We enjoyed all the amenities like the Cornhole, swings, and fire pit. Place was clean. Fully stocked kitchen was perfect for making a home cooked meal one night. You can tell a lot of thought was put into this place to make it a 5 star stay. Highly recommend!

The house was just what was promised. Beautiful home in a beautiful setting. The amenities were a promised. The directions and information provided were very helpful. It was easy to find what we needed/wanted and the signage in the kitchen was great. The deck was lovely - even tho' there was only 1 day warm enough for us to actually use it. Thanks so much for hosting us. We loved our stay.

very cute brick ranch perfect for our couples trip. nice living room, kitchen and bedrooms. bathrooms were small and toilets were very close to shower or a wall so they were kind of hard to use it your tall like us. very easy to communicate with hosts. loved the coffee bar and location close to shady maple.

my girls and i came here for a small bachelorette [4 of us] and i shared a room w the other MOH, the bride got the master room and the other bridesmaid got the other guest room. the whole layout of the place lets in so much natural light!! I'm happy i didn't pack my makeup mirror Cathy also left us complimentary protein bars which was very kind and the girls loved that gesture. the house just made sense- better yet, the cafe that's literally walking distance from the house [down the st] is so cute. Cathy was always rapidly responsive, kind, and hospitable. she provided us with nearby places to have food and drinks which helped a bunch given we're not from York. my favorite part was discovering the thread of food places down the street; there's a TACO BELL. for my first time booking through airbnb, this was a great experience I'm thankful to have. OH and the furniture is SO COMFY, the island in the kitchen is so large and perfect.

My friends and I had a great stay! Quiet, clean, and not far from downtown Lancaster and many other things to do in the area. Would definitely recommend.
