The Barn and surrounds

JanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Serene and peaceful, just what we were looking for. Loved the kangaroos hopping around as it's always a great sight seeing them. Our two mini schnauzers were very happy to run around the grounds, which are mostly fenced so we could easily keep them in check. Loved the sauna, the games room and how the grounds invite to wander and stroll around.
A plate of grilled lamb ribs is presented alongside fresh lemon slices and a sprinkle of chili flakes. A basket of soft bread rolls sits nearby, complemented by a bowl of butter. In the background, a bowl of crispy chips and fresh herbs adds to the setting.

Retro couple's retreat with sauna

ElenaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Jenny's place is a lovely retro cottage, just as described! Less than a 5 minute drive to all the ameneties and restaurants in town. The outdoor bath and private sauna were such a treat. Plenty of space for my dog to run around in in the backyard. Jenny's cottage is the perfect weekend getaway. Jenny was also responsive with any questions we had during our stay and left a little card and treat as it was my birthday which was super thoughtful. Would definitely recommend staying at her cottage and would come again in future!

The Shopkeeper's Quarters, beautiful former shop

BarbaraRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We had a fantastic time at Kate’s. Fabulous communication from booking, during the stay and wrapping up our stay. The cottage is beautiful. Fill of wonderful history but everything had its’ place. Kitchen and bathroom practical to use and water shower wonderful. Linen was beautiful to sleep in. We loved the garden with lots of different places to sit. Enjoyed breakfast and evening drinks outside. Maldon did not disappoint. With lots to see, eat and shop with boutique shops and galleries. We loved the pancake pack - they were delicious. Thanks Jamie and Kate this was an exceptional house for our four nights and you were exceptional hosts.

Wolf Gully (WiFi!) - Secluded Goldfields Dog Oasis

KerryRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Kim’s place was lovely. We took our two golden retrievers who really appreciated all the little touches that make it ideal for pups - things like snacks for them on arrival and pup friendly bed linen. The area is ideal if you’re looking to step away from the city hustle and bustle, and just vanish into the countryside. Whilst Vaughan is very quiet and peaceful, Daylesford was about a 20-30 mins drive away which of course has plenty to do. An ideal balance of both worlds. Kim’s responses were super quick which was hugely appreciated and a great welcome pack was available too. Highly recommend to anyone who just wants to step away from the world for a little hush time. Ellerslie - Romantic Stone Cottage, Barfold

NatalieRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Lovely quiet place surrounded by beautiful nature and rolling hills. The interior is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need for a weekend away. I loved the fireplace and the timeless furniture! The only thing that could improve would be that the shower pressure was quite low, and the hot water ran out very quickly! All in all though it was a fantastic stay!
The cottage features a traditional architectural style with a gabled roof and a front porch supported by decorative brackets. A white picket fence surrounds the property, while a grassy area leads to the pathway. Natural light illuminates the exterior, showcasing its quaint charm.

The Cottage

Everything was as advertised. Sadly I had to cut my stay shorter than anticipated, however, Todd was very accommodating. I love going to Castlemaine and The Cottage is very well appointed. It is near enough to walk into town, and other dog walking areas. Hoping very much to stay again soon.
A charming front porch is highlighted, featuring a wooden bench under a soft light. Green door and windows provide a welcoming entry, while a neatly manicured plant adds a touch of nature near a white picket fence that outlines the property.

We loved staying at Susan’s place! She was such a lovely and generous host! The house was lovely; beautiful plants and pretty decor, and such a quiet area- we all slept so well there. The kitchen was well equipped so it made cooking and dining easy. It was easy to find and very simple check in. Castlemaine is a lovely town and there is so much to do in the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend a nice relaxing getaway at Susan’s place!

Bush retreat, wood fire, pizza oven & stunning dam

DennisRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Absolutely wonderful cottage, location and hosts. Vast property and very private. Paradise for a family with active kids. Host's kids built an awesome single track MTB trail around the property, there is a dam with a kayak and a rowing boat, tennis court, basketball hoop.. So so much to do. The cottage is compact and extremely charming. Everything is intentional. Really could not wish for a better experience. Hosts are friendly, responsive and very helpful. Cannot wait to come back.

Nuggetty Cottage Maldon, Stone Cottage on 24acres

Lovely to revisit after 17 years. We were mesmerised by the stonework and the building in particular. Relaxing balcony and wide open landscape. Everything we needed and all the divine acreage to explore as well as sweet towns of the district. Everything within 20 minutes. Don't miss the Frida exhibition in Bendigo. Very hard to leave this piece of heaven.

Apple Cottage Maldon

LouiseRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Apple Cottage is in a lovely peaceful part of Maldon, felt very much enjoying the country life but a short drive to town. We loved how cosy and calm the cottage decor and the beautiful short strolls around the streets into the town. Having access to a stove and oven was also awesome to heat the home cooked food we bought, definitely a place could relax and stay a few days! Enjoyed visiting the honey factory gift store just around the corner too!

Isabella at Kyneton

BelindaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We had a lovely, relaxing, long weekend stay in Isabella’s Cottage. We enjoyed every aspect including: - Amazing host host Dianne, who made sure we had everything we needed, and was great to communicate with. - Generous, quality breakfast provisions, which are tailored to dietary restrictions. I especially appreciated this being gluten intolerant. - Full size kitchen with everything you need, including condiments, spreads, oil, foil, etc - Quiet street with no problem parking - Great location, walking distance from Kyneton’s cafes, restaurants and shops - Nice outdoor area, which was great for breakfast, and dinner on warm summer days - Everything we needed was provided, including handy things like sunscreen - Useful information on things to do was provided online before hand - It was nice to have a whole house to ourselves, so had plenty of space, not like some smaller places Of course we can’t wait to stay again.

Goldfields miners' cottage in historic village

JanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This beautifully curated Miners Cottage just minutes from the heart of Maldon was perfect for a few nights of R&R. It has been fitted out with everything you could want for luxury and comfort and decorated with superb antiques and artwork. An absolute joy! Gayle was a real pleasure to meet - very helpful and kind. Maldon itself is like a movie, set in 1900. Highly recommend the Bakery! Character and charm in all directions, fabulous pastries. Only 15 minutes to Castlemaine for some additional shopping for clothes. I was in heaven the whole weekend!
