We had the most wonderful stay at the crab shack! As a family of seven, it can sometimes be tricky to find a place that ticks all the boxes, but this home exceeded our expectations in every way. The house itself is spacious, beautifully kept, and thoughtfully designed to offer both comfort and style — there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. What truly made the stay special was the peaceful setting. Waking up to the sound of the waves and having the beach just steps away felt like a dream. It was the perfect place to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy some quality time together without any distractions. The views were breathtaking, and the fresh sea air was a treat. We left feeling refreshed, recharged, and already planning our return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene escape by the sea :-)

We had a lovely 3 night stay in Alexa’s cottage. The property is in a great location if you wish to travel further north, it took us less than an hour to get to John O’Groats. There is a walk to the small pebble beach 5 minutes from the cottage. The cottage is by a river which is lovely to listen to at night. Our dog enjoyed the walks nearby. The cottage stays warm and the rain shower js lovely! The living room is small and cosy, with plenty of firewood. The kitchen is stocked with all cutlery and dishes. I would say bring your own tea bags/coffee if you have more than 1 cup a day. Also bring your own shower gel, something we forgot! The hosts are helpful and responsive. Everyone we met nearby were all were kind and friendly people. All in all, a lovely place to stay. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to visit that area.

Ben's place was comfortable and warm. Great recommendations for eating out. The food at the Indian restaurant was amazing.

Mandy was a great host with communication from the minute we booked . House was easy to find on sat nav and was a great location to explore some of the North Coast. House itself had everything we needed and more. It was bigger than the photos gave credit for and was very spacious and comfortable. Added special touch of welcome basket full of treats was a lovely surprise that was appreciated greatly . I would most definitely book again !

Avril thought of absolutely everything - including goodies for our pup. Both herself and John were readily available to help with anything we needed and when the power went out, completely outwith their control, they were quick to bring hot water, point us in the direction of torches and made sure we had everything we needed until the power was quickly restored. This was our second visit and we loved it as much as the first. A little piece of peace and quiet. We will certainly be back again.

We enjoyed our stay so much we extended to a second night. The house was perfect and the hot tub and deck area was amazing! Complete tranquility and relaxation. It couldn’t have been better! We just adored it! Loved visiting Geise Farm and seeing all the animals, playing in the big garden and visiting Strathy Beach! Brilliant hosts!

Set in an amazing location just off the main road, although we couldn't hear the noise of the traffic at all. Very picturesque surroundings and perfect spot for watching the sun rise while relaxing in the hot tub. Spacious cabin and very well furnished. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. We had 2 pizzas delivered which were 10/10.

A lovely stay (2nd time) and everything we needed for a restful break. The accommodation is top class and the view is unbeatable. Linda was also really helpful when I had a query. I can’t recommend enough if you want a relaxing stay in quiet, gorgeous surroundings.

What can we say, home from home. Beautiful and cozy. Everything you need for a relaxing break. Ideal for our little family. So peaceful and quiet. Little to no internet so kids had no option but to communicate which was lovely. Had 1 little problem with the heating which was sorted within seconds. Can’t fault this place at all. The only problem we had was it didn’t last long enough. We’ve historically stayed in caravans but this has changed our mind for the future. Thank you Simon and Lyndsey.
