A great getaway near the river! We appreciated all the extras that were included i.e. kayaks, floats, life vests, towels that we needed to enjoy the water. Everything was nicely labeled to help find items within the home. Plenty of items to cook meals. Highly recommend!

Really fantastic place. Staff was superb. Easy going and easy to navigate getting in and situated. Quiet at night. So close to the water. AC was excellent. We will definitely be back!

This place exceeded our expectations! The peace and quiet that we experienced was unmatched!! My family of four and our dog, enjoyed every moment and every part of the property. My kids were never inside!! Great place to decompress from daily life activities. Also, no phone or Internet service was tranquility for my wife and I. We'll definitely be coming back!!! We LOVED it so much that nobody wanted to leave!!! One of my favorite places that my family has been too. Don't forget to say hi to Frank!!

We loved being back at this cabin for the second year in a row. Perfect for our little family. Our kids loved the access to the river and the fenced backyard was perfect for us to feel at peace while the kids and the dog played outside! Beautiful views

The stay with Brian is a Dog Owner's dream come true!! The space is perfect for a single traveler or a couple - the bed was comfy, had all the cooking utensils I needed to make my delicious vegan food, and I even made friends with someone at a nearby cabin! Kicking myself for not using the kayaks in his river space across the street (there are 4 and 3 other canoes!) but I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the beautiful trees at Cabin 4 and the use of a small fenced in yard! Brian boards dogs on property for extra cash flow but you wouldn't know it because the dogs were so well-behaved! I appreciated that. If you're looking for things to do - Louise Hay Park in Kerrville is just 15m away - very well kept, and has a swimming area in the Guadalupe! Me and some friends (who stayed at a separate location) enjoyed it so much we went twice! We hung out on floaties and just enjoyed the HUGE Cypress trees and just being in the river. 10 outta 10 - would stay here again. ESPECIALLY if travelling with dogs!

Wonderful place to stay for a quick weekend getaway! Very relaxing and loved the fire pit and private water access.

Great clean place. Looks exactly like the photos. Dog friendly. Enjoyed the backyard and hot tub. Only critique would be to have the backyard fenced in so the dogs could play in the yard while enjoying the hot tub and seating.

Book this property right now! You will not be disappointed! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was more than expected. The pictures do not do it justice! It has alot more space than what I thought it would and there is absolutely anything you could need for cooking including some spices and oils, and of course coffee. The hosts are close by on the property and communication was excellent and so friendly! The views are breathtaking even when it's cloudy and rainy. This was a perfect spot to get away and relax!

Beautiful place. I did know it was going to be small, but it was even smaller than expected. I did not love the fact that we had to take all of our trash with us when we left. But other than that it was very comfortable and relaxing! Hot tub was awesome, and star gazing was great.

Loved staying at Freedom Yurt! Very relaxing, clean, and peaceful little get away. Loved how different it was staying here but didn’t break the bank. They gave recommendations on places to see, eat at, etc. which was great to have!

We spent Easter weekend with my kids and grandkids. Beautiful views, relaxing heated pool. Cozy yet spacious for everyone. Modern cabin feel with lots of natural light. It was like a tree house. We had a great relaxing time and beautiful atmosphere for our family’s memory making weekend. The pillows, beds and lines were so comfortable. The TV room was like a mini theater room where everyone was comfortable.

This was our third time to stay here. As always it’s secluded and quiet. Great amenities and decor. A very relaxing and peaceful getaway for our anniversary!

Vicky and Micky have created a sanctuary for animals here, but it is also a sanctuary for human beings, a place of profound healing and beauty. I've never seen a more beautiful place. They offer gourmet meals, horseback riding lessons, gun range lessons, and expertly selected wines and mixed drinks. The goats are so fun to watch, with babies climbing trees! But truly what makes this place special is Vicky and Micky, living angels whose loving faith lives in their works and not just in their words. If you need a deeper rest that a simple "place to stay" can offer, Home Away Ranch is where you want to be!

Tamra was super responsive and very kind! The pool area alone makes it worth every penny. Tamra sent helpful suggestions prior to our arrival and the detailed instructions for getting there really helped us. Will definitely be booking this place again for a summer getaway! It was so peaceful and relaxing.

What a beautiful vacation away from the busy city life. This bunkhouse was well equipped for relaxation including a beautiful view, lovely plung pool off the deck and a gorgeous bathtub that you could swim in with a rain shower next to it that was just as luxurious. The beds and linen were comfortable. The refrigerator is on the smaller side, what you’d expect with a bunkhouse but it was adorable. The driveway is 1.5 mile hard packed dirt but very well maintained. There is a plethora of wildlife along the way so keep your eyes open! The hosts are responsive and extremely helpful and nice! Will return again when in the area!
