This is my favorite kind of place! The apartment is clean, comfortable, and convenient. If you're looking for a hook, there's one right where you need it. If you need an extra towel, there are ten of them (immaculate and fresh). Honestly, I felt like I was the first guest to stay in the apartment, it was so clean and carefully appointed. Sally and Ed made me welcome from the start without making me feel crowded. Their directions were excellent, and they were quick to help when I had questions. As for the view, WOW! Waking up to the mountains is a treat for this northerner. There's terrific hiking nearby (everywhere!), and the commute up and down the mountain is fast once you know the way. Go meet Sally and Ed and treat yourself to a fabulous stay. I can't wait to return. Thank you, both!

Kendra was incredibly welcoming and made us feel comfortable as soon as we arrived. She even brought us fresh eggs on the first day! The cabin was quiet and calming as described. The river was very close by and was great to swim in, while providing background noise if we decided to sit on the hammocks. It was truly the perfect place to relax and reconnect.

Jo's High Cottage Retreat in Little Switzerland is a lovely oasis of calm and beauty. My husband and I spent five days over the Labor Day weekend resting and relaxing in this perfect cottage. The home is beautifully decorated, well-equipped, and private—ideal for a couple's retreat. The kitchen has everything you need, including a choice of Keurig or drip coffee maker and a fully-stocked coffee/tea station, handmade muffins, snacks, and cream in the fridge. The spacious bedroom has a comfy king-size bed, lots of closet space, and a sitting area. The comfortable open living room looks out onto a large deck. We sat in the rockers on the deck and watched the hummingbirds come to partake of the large impatiens on the deck daily. We enjoyed the walks and views and look forward to the opportunity to return! Jo and Sharon were very responsive - all in all, it was a perfect visit. Thank you!

I loved my stay at The Red House. It was a cozy and creative place to call home for a few days. As described, it was a short walk to all the studios and buildings on the Penland campus. Unfortunately my stay was cut short courtesy of Hurricane Helene, but I will definitely be back!

We booked this place suddenly while in town for a funeral, last minute. We needed a place to house 6 of us for 2 nights. This place did the trick! Everything was lovely. We will definitely be back in the summertime to enjoy the lovely deck and pool! December isn't quite pool season! so next time for sure!! One note: the kitchen is in need of a strainer. unfortunately, there wasn't one, and spaghetti was a meal we planned to feed our large group. we made it work! just and FYI for whoever may be reading this =) Overall, what a great little house in a beautiful area!

Thank you to Tami for letting us book her house for the time we did! It really helped my father out in the aftermath of hurricane Helene. The house is very cute, and has really neat vintage appliances (I love the old fridge!). The area is quiet, the Internet works well, and the house has everything needed for a comfy stay.

Great little cottage. Well worth the the drive up the mountain to get there. If the Blueridge Pkwy is open that eliminates 1/2 of the mountainous roads. The cottage is beautifully remodeled, the beds are comfortable, it was clean and refreshing being out in the mountains. Though not typical we even saw a black bear cross the road in front of us. Along with a beautiful rainbow after a breif but heavy downpour.

The home was lovely and had everything we needed. Unfortunately, we had a family emergency and were unable to stay both nights. The host offered to refund us for the night, which was unexpected and so kind. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay near the lake. We hope to return when the weather is warmer and Marina is open.

Stargazer Cottage is such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay. The property is private and peaceful. The house was very clean and has anything you could need. We appreciated the room darkening shades, extra large towels, comfy beds, and kitchen pots, pans, and utensils. The drive up is pretty steep but it's worth it for the amazing view. The house is so well decorated and feels very welcoming. We'd love to stay here again!

Beautiful location, cottage is surrounded by bubbling brook, seated in the wooden hillside of Little Switzerland. The winding road is worth the trek for a truly peaceful getaway. The cottage decor is artsy and historic, and the comfy beds make you wanna snuggle under a blanket. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cleaning supplies available. Would definitely book again, perfect weekend!

Internet and wifi was very poor but didn't ruin our fun. This is a great quiet place to stay for getaway. Beautiful scenery and lots of time to do and see!

Perfect Mountain Getaway This Airbnb was the perfect escape! The location was absolutely stunning, with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and breathtaking views. The cabin is set back from the road shrouded by trees. If you're expecting hotel grade interested, start at a hotel. If you want peace and quiet and close proximity to trails and scenic views, this is a great base camp. We didn't get to use the fire pit due to rain, but we made good use of the cabin.
