Vacation rentals in Maratua Island

I stayed here for almost a month. I can go to the pier every day to see turtles and a lot of corals and fish. It is a natural observation deck. The water is very clear and you can see very clearly. The hostess's cooking is delicious. The host is a very good fisherman. He is also very familiar with the surrounding sea areas and the island. You can ask them if you have any questions. If you can cook, you can discuss cooking with the hostess. There is a seafood shop nearby and they sell seafood that is caught fresh every day. Stone spotted lobster, prawn, viola prawn, Napoleon, and some fish that I can't name. I ate a lot of fresh meat, all with a sweet taste. The price is also cheap. The squid is also very delicious. If you are lucky enough to see the Host, he will help you catch it. The fresh octopus is super delicious. I ate and drank here for less than a month. I went camping with the Host on another uninhabited island for the last few days. It was a pleasant experience.

The staff at Noira cottages couldn't speak English, but with Google translate we were able to communicate quite well. Ross is the air BNB host however the cottages are owned by Rivi. we were able to speak with Rivi directly to organise a charter to get off the island early (before public boat departure) in order to catch a flight from Berau. very relaxed vibe and lovely place to stay

jade homestay is located on a clif with the view over the house jetty. there are plenty of huge turtels visible already from the jetty. the coral garden is in my top 3 what i ever saw... and i travelled a lot ! the rooms are clean and on demand she cooks an extraordinary diner.. realy excellent taste! this place is a great option to stay for an affordable price on the island. take room 1 or 2 if you want to catch the wifi of the reception! internet is shaky on the island ( august2024). better buy a telekomsim sim card and register it before you leave berau! her husband speaks a good french and offers excursions to the neighbour islands with his boat

We can highly recommend Jade Homestay in Maratua. You can snorkel directly from the jetty very close to the rooms. There are two riffs with great corals and a lot of fishes (we saw a lot of turtles, lion fishes, the typical coral fishes...) Lia and her husband are very helpful. They can give you a lot of tips what to see on the island and helped us in booking a flight back to Tanjung Redep. You can rent a scooter directly at the homestay. The breakfast is good and you can also eat for lunch or dinner. Lia is an exceptional cook. We felt like a big family and extended our stay. Thanks a lot Lia and Ly. We hope to come back again. There are no words for how beautiful Maratua is! Jun and Ana were amazing hosts -- we spent our very short 3-day stay snorkeling (the marine life right outside the guesthouse is incredible!) and on Kakaban Island. Jun and Ana lent us all the snorkeling gear and Amelia helped facilitate our stay before and after. Be aware that there isn't wifi or an ATM on the island, so come prepared! All in all, a magical stay, and I can't wait to return!

i had the absolute best time in this heavenly place, the jetty was much loved by everyone and lia and lee's hospitality was brilliant from the food to the epic day trip on lee's boat! for anyone that is looking to explore a little off the beaten track and be immersed in a peaceful getaway, this is the place for you!
