Absolutely beautiful place in such a beautiful setting. My hubby and I felt very at home here. Our two little dogs loved it. The beach barn was spotless. The photos of the place are true to what it's like, however, if you're organised like us and think of bringing along coffee pods as you've seen photos of the machine so to not use all of the host's pods. Be aware it is not a Dolce Gusto machine, they now have a Tassimo. Don't fall into buying the wrong pods like we did by looking at the photos🤦‍♀️😂 A very short walk to The Captain's Wife pub and 1988 Indian, the food at both of these places is lovely and definitely worth trying! Lots of things to do and places to see whilst here. We drove to the Barrages walking over to Cardiff Bay, definitely worth a visit and also try Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, lovely walk around there and the medieval village. Barry Island beach is also perfect, it's lovely, clean, and perfect for dogs! We'd love to return the beach barn again in the future.

Absolutely lovely cottage in a lovely location! It was exceptionally clean when we arrived. Kim gave us very clear instructions on how to find the cottage, along with lots of recommendations of things to do! The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you might need for cooking, the only thing we would change would be having salt and pepper shakers rather than sachets. We really enjoyed the different flavoured coffees! We really enjoyed the local area- the local pub is a 3 minute walk away, and we also visited the local shop. We walked along the canal from the village to Crickhowell, which was a very easy and beautiful route! If we had stayed longer we would have made use of the bike hire in the village. The only thing we would have added would have been some board games/card games for when the weather isn’t on side! We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely come again. Thank you, Kim.

We recently spent three night’s here after reading many good reviews and we were not disappointed. Maple Cottage was lovely, in a great location and was well equipped with everything we needed, including the amazing hot tub! The property was spotless, and the generous welcome basket was a nice touch, and much appreciated. Paul was a great host, we were left to it, but he was there when we needed anything. Absolutely adored this property. My friend and I both agreed it's the best place we've stayed, we are regular travellers so this is high praise! Fantastic location with walks straight from the front door. Great property exactly as described with a lovely hamper and everything you could need in the kitchen. This is the perfect property for a break in the Waterfall County! I would happily stay here again and it will be my first choice when I do return!

We spent 2 nights at Sugarloaf cottage as we wanted to get some walking done in the Brecon Beacons. Alison was friendly from the start and made us feel at ease and our dog was made to feel very welcome too. The cottage looks exactly like the photos and was super clean. The views from the hot tub were fantastic. Alison gave us some great recommendations for places to eat and places to visit. Overall a fantastic couple of nights spent at Sugarloaf and if we are ever back this way, we’d opt to stay again. Thank you Alison 😄

We had a great stay. The location was perfect as it was easy walking distance to the centre of Cardiff. Despite being so central the street was extremely quiet. The house had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay again next time we come to Cardiff. Exceptional value.

Karen was very helpful throughout our short stay and very responsive to questions. The cabin is a very cute place to stay, but only for a short stay. We loved it for a long weekend, but don’t feel it would be suitable for a longer stay, due to lack of clothes hanging and cooking facilities. It is also very draughty (through the front door), so whilst sitting watching tv it was quite chilly, but with blankets on and the log burner on, we made it cosy, but not sure how we’d feel about staying there in the winter, but for a spring/summer break it is lovely. Views from the cabin are beautiful.
