Family-friendly vacation rentals in Litchfield

Lori’s is exactly what we need while visiting family over a holiday. She is very gracious to host us over Thanksgiving as the last occupants of the year. Even during a snow storm, her place is cosy and beautiful. This is our second year coming, and we love it every time. We would recommend it for those looking for a charming getaway from busy life. Graywoods provided a peaceful setting for our family Christmas. The fireplace was a hit! Judy is a gracious hostess and we look forward to returning.

I booked this Airbnb to surprise my girlfriend for her birthday and it was such a hit! The wall-to-wall bedroom windows made waking up like a dream with natural sunlight and spectacular views. The hot tub was INCREDIBLE! Getting it going made me nervous but with a little patience we got it up and running and was amazing. The place is peaceful and serene - highly recommend to anyone needing an escape!

We had a great weekend at the Brownie! The house was wonderful and just as described. We were able to enjoy the trails out back along the river as well! It snowed while we were there and the plow was there first thing in the morning.

Just returned from the most fantastic 2 weeks exploring the US which included a weeks stay at Kiwi Lodge. Where to start? This was exactly as described and the perfect base for exploring Maine. The property was spotless and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. 3 beautiful bedrooms, 2 great sized bathrooms, wonderful living area and kitchen and fantastic games room. Hot tub was brilliant. The location on the lake is just perfect, we had the lake to ourselves and took the canoe out. Nearest town of Farmington has all the shops and cafes you’d need. The communication from Kay was great from the day we booked, and recommendations we took her up on were all absolutely spot on. Thank you Kay and thank you Kiwi Lodge for a holiday to remember!

Deb was great. From helpful pre instruction arrivals to make it easier to find to greeting us and giving us a tour and helpful information. The loft was great and we loved that we were able to cook breakfast and dinner especially when it snowed. Lots of great restaurants in the area that Deb recommended. The horses were so sweet and as a horse girl, I was very excited about that. Will definitely be staying there again in the figure. Definitely would recommend Deb’s place to anyone!

Can't say enough about Marcia's place, we had a wonderful time. Her Victorian home was so warm and sweet to come home to after galvanizing all day up and down the coast in frigid temps. We just loved it. Thanks so much!

Our stay at Barry’s place was delightful! We came up to Ski at Sunday River and with the place being less than 15 minutes away, it was easy to be back and forth for our dog. Barry was responsive and helpful with any instructions we needed, and the place itself fit what we needed perfectly. We’d love to come stay again sometime!

We loved our stay! The space is comfortable and in a very walkable neighborhood. There was ample on street parking (granted, it was the middle of the winter!). We were just as comfortable staying in as going out! Thanks so much

My family and I loved staying at Tanja's home, which is saying something as my family members can be quite particular! Tanja was extremely communicative and amenable to my requests for check-in and check-out. Her place is impeccable and all of us LOVED her collection of artwork and eclectic curios throughout each space--we could come back again and probably find more things we didn't notice after staying for over a week! Tanja had thought of everything, putting a lot of effort into the home's details so that I was left wanting for nothing. My family also loved listening to records throughout the day and evening. A great place for a long-term stay: I found myself saying that I was going back "home" after a long day out. Thanks so much, Tanja! We'd love to come back the next time we're in the area.

I have stayed at Anne’s place many times. Anne and her husband are always very nice and friendly. The apartment is spotless, comfortable and you can’t beat the location, just up the hill from charming Falmouth Town Landing and beach and an easy drive to downtown Portland.

Michael’s place is great for a big group! Lots of seating in the living room and enough bedrooms for everyone to spread out.

What a perfect little getaway! Andy’s place is absolutely beautiful with so many nice little touches, especially for families. My two boys, ages 6 and 2, had such a blast in the pool and in the backyard. Andy had a big bin of toys in the living room that my little guys dug into as soon as we got there, such a nice touch to make kids feel at home. There was an abundance of clean towels for the bathrooms as well as the pool. The kitchen was very well equipped so that we were able to buy groceries and cook meals and have nice, hot coffee every morning. The home itself is beautiful and well thought out with bedrooms that are private and separate from the living space. I have to add that Andy was very easy to communicate with and always available and accommodating. Check in and check out was easy and seamless. The home is in a quiet, peaceful area with other beautiful homes and lots of privacy. A wonderful few days away. Would highly recommend, especially for families.

Great 2-level apartment with terrific deck and beautiful view overlooking the river. Quiet and pretty. Owners were very responsive and the kitchen is very well stocked. Nice rustic touches and great running/walking trail along the river, just down the road. WiFi works well. Recommend upgrading the beds as they are small and not very comfortable. Otherwise a great property!

Hidden Haven is a fantastic home with less than 5 minute access to Pleasant Mountain for skiing. Suzanne is a fabulous host as she was very responsive when I had questions about using the fireplace. I highly recommend.

She was very helpful. The condo was amazing! Beautiful views, comfortable beds and furniture. The kitchen has everything you need. Plenty of towels and extra blankets. Great location, you can walk to shops and restaurants. We went in the fall, so it was very peaceful.

The house was great for the size of the crowd we had. All 16 of us had plenty of elbow room and a very relaxing stay. The yard is very private and the pool kept the kids busy all day. It was a wonderful experience for the family. Thank you Susan

Perfect little spot on Frye Island! Great location, walking distance to our favorite beach on island as well as the general store. House was clean, comfortable, just as described. We enjoyed our stay!

Our stay here was amazing, the house is adorable and the views are stunning. The pool was the perfect temperature and the whole family was in the pool every day, plus the views from the pool were pretty remarkable. Sherri was a great host and super communicative and helpful. The house is set up perfectly for a large group with cute little restaurants a short car ride or boat ride away. We will definitely be back!

Maryann was friendly, responsive and quick to reply. She left baked goods and coffee out each morning which was a pleasant surprise. The space was easily accessible, private and spotless. We would definitely stay here again
