We loved our stay at this picturesque cottage in the woods with a lovely water view. The house is beautifully furnished with plenty of space for a group, while remaining cozy for a couple. We particularly enjoyed reading and watching movies by the gas fireplace and relaxing by the firepit on the screened porch, surrounded by trees and birdsong. The kitchen has plenty of pots and pans for cooking on the gas stove — plus a Keurig that makes both pots and individual cups of coffee, a blender, electric teakettle, baking sheets, etc. The house is walking distance to the small town center with restaurants, shops, and a great little art gallery; it’s also a short drive to grocery stores and pharmacies in Kilmarnock, and to Hughlett Point Nature Preserve with a nice trail through the woods and along the beach. Belle Chalet was the perfect place for a relaxing winter getaway, and we expect it would be equally lovely throughout the year. We hope to come back!

We spent my father’s 70th birthday here and did a little holiday celebration too. The home was perfect. 3 spacious bedrooms close to the small, cute downtown. We made dinner in the home and the kitchen came with everything we needed in terms of cookware. Great dining room and lounging space. Perfect for our short getaway.

The house was everything we needed and more. And Irvington in October is absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful weekend and really appreciated Suzanne’s responsiveness and hospitality - we will be back!

Sadia’s home on the river is a beautiful home in a very private and serene location. The house has been beautifully renovated for today’s comforts but it oozes with historical charm. The bedrooms worked out well for our needs for 5 adults. The house had a large kitchen for gathering, a cozy den for board games, a screened in back porch, and a lovely dock to sit by the water. We also enjoyed the fire pit while taking in the amazing stars. It really is such a special location. Kilmarnock is not too far away and offers shops snd restaurants but be aware that most businesses are closed on Sunday so do your town exploring on Saturday. We did run into a major plumbing issue upon our arrival. Sadia was extremely responsive and had a contractor at the house within an hour. Unfortunately the issue was not easily resolvable during our stay so we had limited water usage. Sadia was very easy to work with and we received a credit for our stay. It is truly a lovely home with a wonderful host.

Such a great place for an area with not a lot of places to stay. Loved that the kitchen was organized and not stocked with random items other guests had left behind. Always grateful when our dog can stay with us. Quiet spot at the back of the property. Would love to stay again in the summer to use the front porch.

We have been lucky enough to stay at Lauren’s super cute little home two times. Hope to be able to stay more. Super quiet and Lauren is very attentive. Thank you again Lauren!!

We were able to share a family thanksgiving with our stepdaughter and her extended family! Beautiful river view, birds…peaceful…excellent food nearby…5 minute drive to Hearts corner farm!! Perfect!

Great house with lots of breathing room. Huge backyard and walking distance to the Tides Inn and downtown Irvington. Check and check out was easy. Would love to stay here again.
