Lake house vacation rentals in Lake Shelbyville

This is a diamond in the rough! Beautiful place to stay! Very clean, beds are very comfortable, full bathroom, one walk in shower and 1/2 bath upstairs. We could even take our little dog! Has a beautiful view of the lake and birds and fun to watch the squirrels play. We will be back!

We rented the Bluebird for 4 couples in their 50’s. First let me say, the host communication was amazing!! Responsive, and plenty of details! The home was probably the cleanest AirBNB we’ve ever stayed in!! Fun furnishings, peaceful home and neighborhood, plenty of kitchen tools, and some extra nice touches like chocolate and coffee! The dock area was great for fishing! Two bedrooms were downstairs and two up. Both full baths are located on main level, but it was nice to have a half bath in the basement. Beds were comfy, plenty of linens. Nice cold AC!! We visited Pinky’s for a good dinner, frozen drinks and a fun lake atmosphere, which was a very short drive. If you are looking for a serene lake stay with a cozy, clean home for a reasonable price this is it!! Laid back area great for relaxing!

We had a great stay at the Lake Sara Cottage. It may have been completely frozen outside, but we were happy and toasty inside soaking up the beautiful views and watching the wildlife. We would definitely stay here again!

Definitely would go back again, would 100% recommend to people who want a nice cozy getaway near water.

A couple friends and I stayed here for a weekend girls trip and this stay exceeded all of our expectations. Everything was super clean, the property and surrounding area is beautiful, and there is so much to do around here. The only thing I would change is there are a lot of windows and no blinds or curtains to close so anybody can see in the house when it’s dark out, but honestly the neighbors all kept to themselves and everything else was so perfect so this didn’t bother us much. We have even talked about coming back every year and making it an annual thing!

This was the coziest villa. We had everything we needed and more. Tasha is one of the most accommodating hostess we have ever had.

We absolutely loved this lake house. Grateful for the playpen and children’s toys. Grateful for the lake access and kayaks. Grateful for the screened porch (though the screen door was ripped). Beautiful surroundings, walkable area, safe and private. If you go, we definitely recommend Joe’s Pizza and Don Pedro’s Mexican restaurants!!! :) The beds were all very comfy. Great and memorable stay. We didn’t want to leave :’( Would 100% book again.

The place continues to be a peaceful retreat while visiting a chaotic family. We always check for this location first when planning a trip to the area.
