Kankarwa Haveli

The Kankarwa Fort northeast of Udaipur still stands testimony to the family’s rich history. Early in the 19th century, the Maharana gave the Thakur of Kankarwa permission to build an urban house in Udaipur City. Construction began around 1820 and is presently known as Kankarwa Haveli. In 1993 the family began renovation work and within two years Kankarwa Haveli opened its doors for travellers while remaining the city dwelling of the original family.

Wonderful stay. Very thoughtfully designed, like an oasis in the middle of a bustling street. Amazing hospitality and the host and her staff go the extra mile to make sure you have a comfortable stay. Highly recommended and fares much better compared to the other overpriced boutique properties in Udaipur.

Great place to stay, very clean, staffs are very respectful. Breakfast is so good, we love the banana cupcake. The only problem we have is the stiff road going up to the guesthouse but we never have problem, the staff help us with our luggage. Location is good, walking distance to a lot of sites around udaipur and many restaurants nearby and near to the market. We highly recommend the neem tree,. :)

I stayed at the Neem Tree for 9 nights loved everything about this place: The convenient location, the calm atmosphere, the great design between old and new, the comfortable room, the delicious breakfasts, the great views from the rooftop and most of all the very friendly staff. It had such a great time here, many thanks to Helena and her team.
