This place was beautiful. Very secluded and private. Back outdoor space was magical. There were a lot of deers that came to greet us. Property itself is very well taken care of. It was a spacious property with beautiful balconies that overlooked the backyard. House is stocked well with everything that you need. I highly recommend this place for anybody that wants to get away and relax with nature.

The Retreat is a peaceful and relaxing place. Steve and Andrea were exceptional hosts for their home. We are already planning our trip for next December. Our new "home away from home."

I was looking for a beautiful home to have our small wedding ceremony. i noticed the add said no parties but I loved the pictures the view was spectacular so I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Melinda said I could and gave me ideas an well Saturday we had our wedding and it was absolutely perfect! we arrived at the house and the housekeepers had champagne and roses on the counter with chocolate kisses and petals up to the master bed!deers in the back yard are friendly, hot tub is awesome and the sensory was perfect for my wedding. the showers r amazing! huge kitchen table! comfy couches. Stunning! thank you so much Melinda for making my dream come true!

Thanks Ryan for a wonderful trip full of memories! The house is immaculate and huge! Eight of us had plenty of room! The kitchen is fantastic! The river was low so no kayaking was done unfortunately but we had a great time despite that. I had a few questions and Ryan almost immediately responded even though it was Christmas Eve. My family and I would strongly recommend this place for a large group or family. Thanks Ryan!

We absolutely loved this air bnb! The host was amazing, the house was amazing, and we loved that they allow previous guest to leave behind food / drinks that don’t spoil! It was beneficial to use a few left behind items and we left some too! I miss when places would do that, so it was refreshing to see! Tons of space, comfortable, and beautiful house / scenery! We were only 10 minutes from the river / nightlife & there were plenty of games at the house! We really did enjoy this place and will 100% be back! I also loved the cleaning instructions as it lets me know they do in fact clean their beds! I also love the $75 back cleaning fee of you wash your towels. Really awesome host as well! 10/10!!!

Beautiful home and just as pictured! The kitchen was huge and well stocked which was important to us. We needed to change our trip dates because of sickness and a surgery and the hostess was very kind and accommodating to our circumstances. Our only complaint would be some bed sheets that were not clean enough to sleep on but we were able to remedy ourselves. Very thankful for our time :)

I enjoyed this retreat for the holidays. I was able to visit family in the area and as well as get a small vacation. It is very private while only 1 hour or less away from san antonio. we celebrated christmas eve and christmas day there. which was great as we were able to use all the amenities and be comfortable. The best part was the backyard that has the grill, fireplace , kayaking , and hot tub. That we were able to enjoy even more since it was 80 degrees during christmas. Something for everyone to do. would definitely get again if I'm ever back in that area.

The home was so beautiful and relaxing perfect getaway for my birthday trip. The views were amazing! We had a little personal zoo from the animals seen deer, raccoon, cats, and a hog lol! Love the house would definitely love to be back!

Carmen was absolutely responsive and accommodating. The place is super clean and cozy. Early morning we were able to take a walk around the lake really close by, beautiful lake! The garage was awesome for our girl’s lunch party; all the games and privacy were perfect for loud young people! If you plan to do a get together/party, just make sure to talk about it before hand, they definitely don’t like surprises or extra people without notice.

This was our second time staying here and it was just perfect. The location is central to all things such as restaurants, San Antonio, etc. We would recommend this Airbnb!

This stay was to visit and spend time with our son who goes to TXST. The house was very roomy with plenty of space for our family and some friemds to visit. Location was a short 10 min drive to target or Heb which is always nice and necessary when staying at an air bnb. Host was very quick to respond to questions.

The home was easy to find. The deer led us right to it! They are everywhere in the neighborhood and we loved it! It was peaceful, great for walking, and had some pretty scenery. Perfect location to multiple parks and lots to do, while still feeling secluded and hidden away for quiet evenings. They had a well-stocked kitchen supplies, a perfect back yard, grill, and games for the kids 😊 Our kids loved their bedrooms. We enjoyed the time we spent here, love this area, and cannot wait to come back! The hosts were kind, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great stay!

Our host provided a wonderful space for my family. I liked that it was gated and our pets were able to roam the front yard without worrying about them leaving. We enjoyed our stay and if we are ever in that area we would likely book again! Thank you for a great experience!

This place is beautiful. Inside and out. Beautiful view and a relaxing home. Everything you could need for your stay has been thought of. They are very considerate of their guests and was always quick to respond. Will definitely be staying here again.

Vanessa was a wonderful host. she allowed us to check in early which helped us get things we need done for my daughter’s wedding. She responded very quickly and home was beautiful.

Alec and his wife were lovely hosts and provided clear communication whenever we reached out. The property was beautiful inside and out and we enjoyed making our Thanksgiving dinner in the well appointed kitchen and grill. The kayaks were fun and it was a great time hanging hammocks by the water. There is noise from the 50mph 4 lane highway close by so if you seek complete solitude this would not be for you. I would recommend a stay here to anyone, nice place and great hosts

my family of 5 and our youngest is Autistic. this was a great getaway for us. Dominic enjoyed the scenery and backyard access to an adventurous hike to Canyon Lake.

Super clean, extremately good customer service, recently updated and a great kitchen. In one word, fabulous.

We loved staying here. The hot tub was amazing. The king bed was so so comfortable and cozy. Lots of space for gathering. The backyard was so cool. We loved it. And my kids loved seeing the deer run around every morning. It is so beautiful!! We love Canyon Lake and have stayed at different airbnb's here. This was a GREAT location. If you're new to the Canyon Lake area, Granny D's is a must !!! Their giant pancakes are amazing!

My family and I stayed at Shafers place for only 1 night but we had a great time! There was 13 of us total and it was plenty big for us all. The decks were great to BBQ and just watch the wildlife scurrying threw the yard. We had a fox come visit that night and he was just the cutest little thing! Tons of deer, lots of big beautiful trees and everything we could have needed for the stay! Anytime I stay in the area I will be returning there!

We were pleasantly surprised with the home! It was much bigger than we expected and accommodated our family of 6 plus my parents perfectly! The house and the area were just perfect for us! April provided games and floats for the pool. We never had a dull moment but we also got to sneak in a nap here and there too. I would love to return with my family in the future! We made great memories this weekend, thank you for having a beautiful rental home!
