We had a wonderful weekend, loved it all from the sweet little dogs to the outside shower. It was an excellent home away from home.

Being welcomed in person - obviously caring for us - felt a bit like coming home :-) Next time here again!

We loved our 2 night stay at KarMichael Farm. The Rose Cottage was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The views were so beautiful overlooking the farm. The heated blankets on the beds were fantastic as it was very chilly at night. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a place to stay in Himeville - it’s very close to the Glencairn Wedding venue too.

We loved our stay in this gorgeous cottage! Being able to sit outside on the verandah overlooking the most beautiful view, the sunrise and the sounds of nature including a stream, birds and frogs. We even ventured for a splash in the stream - chilly but lovely! It’s remote enough if you are looking for peace and solitude but also not far (about 20-30 mins) from a lot of the great Midlands meander attractions and restaurants.

Visiting from the UK, Angela the host gave clear directions & gate entry info. On arrival we were greeted with a thatch roof rondawel in the most serene & private surroundings. Felt so tranquil & peaceful looking out over her beautiful garden. The rondawel has a lovely rustic feel & was spotless with the little touches of tea, coffee, sugar & milk plus some delicious biscuits & a dram of Sherry! There’s a fire pit to enjoy looking up at the vast African sky & a swimming pool to enjoy by day. Vervet monkeys were busy foraging & little duikers came to visit. We stayed here 4 times during our visit we enjoyed it so much. Angela gave us tips on places to visit & eat & was so friendly during our stays. We will definitely be back!

1000 characters is not enough to describe the beauty of the place and its people, but I'll try. The venue is beautifully natural with plenty of grass area for comfy camping in tents. The cottage was rustic, off-grid and still equipped with all necessities. We slept really well and had a great night's rest in the comfy double bed. Plenty of blankets and comfy soft pillows made us feel at home. If you're going for the scenery, then you will not be disappointed any time of the year. We arrived at night during rain and was kindly guided by Karl from the offramp to the cottage. We got stuck due to the wet roads and Karl was there to assist us from the start. He offered to take us to our racing event without us asking while our car was still stuck. If it weren't for Karl, then our weekend would have turned out completely different and we would have missed the reason we came for. Karl is a gentleman and a legend. Kobi their dog is super amazing. I left with my heart full.

Penwarn farm lodge is breathtaking. The views are to die for. Kate's place had all amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. Her check-in instructions were detailed with great recommendations. However, the road once inside Penwarn farm is not suitable for a sedan or small car when it is raining even with new tires like our car had. There was a bit of rain and our car slid all over and almost hit the wall inside the farm. It would be great if stones or gravel could be added to the dangerous areas before an accident occurs, otherwise as it is, it needs a 4x4 when it rains. Apart from that, we had an excellent stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would book this place again, albeit with a 4x4 😎.

Really enjoyed our stay at the milk cottage. The cottage itself was very beautiful, well layed out and equipped with everything we needed. There were also books which our 2 year old son enjoyed reading and playing with. The property was also amazing with play areas and lots of toy trucks and a deck where you get a spectacular view of the maize plantation and the drakensberg.

Beautiful & tranquil place. Really enjoyed our stay & our son loved seeing the cows & horses. Such a relaxing environment

Great weekend stay over. Beautiful ,peaceful surroundings. The cottage is situated on a herbal farm. Very clean & neat. Well equipped, fresh clean linen and towels. Warm water, internet, books everything you need . Lovely essential room, mozzie and soaps provided such a nice touch. Safe environment for todlers. Thank you Kirsten for being so friendly & welcoming. Best host we have ever met. ..sharing your little haven with us ...feast for our senses.

A Home Away from Home Our host was such a lovely person and made us feel right at home, always readily available and more than happy to help. Breathtaking views, serene surroundings, and warm hospitality made this dam cabin an unforgettable retreat. Perfect for nature lovers and those seeking peace. After a week of wet camping we decided to find a cute spot to warm up and relax in. Protea cottage was wonderful. Grant and Sue went above and beyond to help us feel right at home. Rare find - both venue and people! Thank you both 🙏

We had a lovely stay in a beautiful old farmhouse that was peaceful yet close driving distance to most of the attractions. Charlie was very responsive and the staff at the property were so friendly and accommodating as well. We really enjoyed our stay and my daughter just loved having the dogs visit her everyday. Definitely a place we would love to stay again.

Crest Farm is an absolute gem of a place. The owners are wonderful people who communicated with us right from the start regarding an earlier check-in time, which they allowed. Instructions regarding our stay and the home were proactively sent out. Even accommodating our GSD and last minute additional guest. We were utterly impressed with the living space, from the moment we arrived everything was spick and span. Exactly as described, in fact we found ourselves short of nothing as the home offers so much more than one would usually get for the price we paid especially over a long weekend. Phenomenal value for money and absolutely a home away from home feel. There is not enough that could be said about how wonderful Crest Farm is for someone looking to retreat into the serenity of the countryside while still enjoying the comforts of home style modern living. Thank you so much Songezo and Nolindo for opening up your beautiful home to us. We certainly hope to be back again and again!

Cottage was actually better than the photos. Was lovely and clean, also very helpful to have Sylvia help out with cleaning etc, she was lovely. Comfortable beds and good linen. Fire not working which was a little disappointing the first night as it was chilly, not needed after that.. hopefully will be available in the future.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful and large farm house! The little kids loved the farm with its sheep and the dam! We will definitely be back! Robyn was a delight to deal with and made the whole experience even more wonderful, thank you!

An absolute paradise! Great for all ages, we had from a toddler for the day to 85 year old mama, who all felt at home and had a wonderful time. We lived on the back porch, soaking in the sun and breeze and catching up with each other after 2 years apart. Would absolutely stay again!

Loved our stay.

The farmhouse is spacious and comfortable. The farm is stunning and the farmer was friendly and helpful, we enjoyed walking around among the ducks, sheep and cows. My son particularly enjoyed milking the cow. The road to the farm requires a 4x4 vehicle, and the roads around the farm can be very muddy in the rain, if you would like to walk it is essential to bring hiking boots or wellies.

We recently enjoyed a delightful stay at a charming cottage nestled in the beautiful KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The cottage was a perfect blend of rustic charm and comfort, offering a cozy retreat amidst the stunning countryside. The interior was tastefully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the kitchen setup made it easy to prepare our own meals. The surrounding landscape was peaceful, with rolling hills and lush greenery that provided a serene backdrop for our getaway. We loved exploring the nearby walking trails and visiting some of the nearby eateries. The hosts were open and responsive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Overall, our experience was memorable, and we highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in nature.
