Bukit Cempaka ( Frangipani Hill)

Bukit Cempaka or Frangipani Hill is a 20 acre oasis located atop a hilltop with views in every direction and a short distance to the beaches below. Access is via a steep gravel driveway where I recommend a 4WD vehicle. Draw the curtains and you are looking across the South China Sea to Pulau Kalambu. Electricity in Sabah is poor in country towns . There can be times when the A/C and water pump cut out. If you can work with these conditions you are welcome to book

A near perfect place if you're looking for a relaxing, phenomenal location at Kudat, Sabah. The location is right exactly at the tip of Borneo, which is an excellent location to capture the ambience, be it sunrise, sunset, milky way, you name it, as it's just a single step out of the room. The room is nice enough for 3 pax and it's well organized just as displayed in the picture. The only complaint I have is the operating hour of the restaurant is a bit too short given that it's closing at 8:30pm, and there's an unexplainable electric blackout that happens rarely. In conclusion, it was a pleasant stay and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a temporary escape from the city to the beach. (P/S: the road around the area is extremely jolting so I highly recommend you to look for an SUV for a safer drive in Kudat. Cheers!)

We’ve been eyeing this beach retreat for quite some time, especially the clifftop cabin. It was amazing and worth the trip, despite the 3.5 hour drive from Kota Kinabalu airport. Amenities complete, with a “big natural tv” merely by looking out the window. The beach is easily accessible. Cerol and the rest of the team was very helpful and made us feel safe, with them making periodical rounds, beachfront. Only snag is the litter scattered beachfront, as we walked along the stretch. We will definitely come back for a longer stay.

Ekoos was a great host, responded quickly to messages, was really kind and very helpful. Kotak Kotak is mix of lovely accomodations in the most wonderful and calming area possible. The ocean is close, you can see and hear it from the house, and there's beautiful plants all around. And what might be even better (at least for animal lovers): There are a few very sweet cats and dogs living outside at the area, too. We were also really pleased with the housekeeper, who was always INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful. Thank you so much! :)))
