An Artists Home Away From Home

Our home provides you a comfortable stay in a historic quiet neighborhood in downtown Juneau. We are close walking distance to Juneau’s core with cafes, restaurants and shopping. You might want to stroll the waterfront boardwalk along Gastineau Channel and see a big breaching whale fountain and plaza, cultural and art museums along the way. Cope Park is practically in our back yard, a jump off point leading to excellent hiking trails. Whoever you are, whatever your journey, we welcome you!

River House: On Mendenhall River/Glacier(4 min dr)

We love our place on the Mendenhall River! Eagles, bears, deer, porcupine, and otters are common sights in the backyard while the soft rush of the glacier-fed stream provides a soothing background. We are located in the upper Mendenhall Valley, just a 5 minute drive from the Mendenhall Glacier & 3 minute walk to the Brotherhood Bridge trail which takes you into deep old forest almost immediately. The river is ever changing and always beautiful & peaceful. We are available, but don’t intrude.

Lilac Place is a quaint cozy 2 bdrm, 1 bath apartment attached to our home. Enjoy your private entrance and sunny back deck located close to beautiful Auke Bay in the Mendenhall Valley. The rental includes all the amenities you would need or want for a perfect family vacation. Close enough to downtown without being in the middle of all the hubbub, we know you will enjoy staying in our humble home. Built in the 1950’s this first layer of our house cake still has some of the funky fun that comes with it, but if you can handle scheduling shower time this house has all the trimmings, private parking, home gym, small arcade, working propane fireplace, gorgeous artwork and a fully stocked kitchen just waiting to help deliver a fresh Alaskan caught meal.

Your private/separate mother-in-law apartment attached to this newly remodeled Tudor-style house has a private bathroom, bedroom, and open room, which features a kitchen, dining, and sitting area! This space is priced for up to two people. I hope you like this accessory apartment that was built in the early '90s for Great Grandma McBride. It has a private exterior entrance, porch, and parking spot. You can also access the main house through an interior door.

Beautiful view of Juneau from the first floor of our 3 story home . Every person who has stayed with us is amazed by the view, please read our reviews. There IS NOT a kitchen! A small frig, microwave, toaster, coffee (keurig) wet bar and a BBQ on the deck and a few food items await you. There is a family room, 3 bedrooms that sleep 2 persons each and 2 baths.
