Kevin was very accommodating to our group, and allowed my family arriving earlier than me to check in first. It is a very unique house, with plenty of space for guests to sleep. My stepmom enjoyed a soak in the larger soaking room, and said it was very relaxing. Kevin kept us updated throughout our stay, and even reached out afterward about some items left in one of the rooms to get those mailed to us.

Wilderness Roost on Lake Godstone

Man, what an amazing place to stay! There are a lot of cabins to choose from on his website. My wife, little brother, and I stayed at the Roost. It's a little farther from the other cabins and lake but worth the distance. We had a great time fishing! Together, we probably caught 35ish fish. we caught three 18-inch channel catfish, two 16in channel catfish, and 15 or so 12 inch catfish. We also caught crappie, blue gill. Not including awesome walking trails, basketball court, and sand volleyball beach. Overall will definitely stay again. As a family we are looking at renting the lodge next.

We chose the rustic cabin to celebrate our anniversary for several reasons. It is a short drive outside of the small town where I grew up. Debbie and I love being outside of town, where you see nothing but trees, birds, and wildlife. The cabin met all of our expectations which we knew it would just from the pictures we had seen. I've known Anna's husband Ronald for many years so that told me this place would be a fit for us. We got to meet Anna for the first time. She made us feel right at home with her friendly smile and cheerful personality. For anyone that appreciates the outdoors and enjoys the beauty of mother nature, this is the place to be.

Great place to relax and unwind to a peaceful oasis ..literally. James the owner has definitely put a lot of hard work and dedication to make this place an incredible blessing of a getaway. There are many ponds throughout the property and a nice medium sized lake to swim, fish and kayak in. Dom , was very helpful and keeps the property incredibly maintained . We always stay here for our visits and find the local residents (George and Gracie) very friendly and welcoming. The other residents staying there are very friendly and welcome others to conversations. The place is very quiet and close enough to the city to drive into within minutes.

Inspiration Cabin at Lake Godstone

I stayed at the Inspiration cabin for a 3 day get away from the DFW area. It was me & my 16 yr old Bichon. I love that dogs are considered part of the family & always welcome here. What stood out to me was the friendliness, responsiveness, accountability and sensitivities to my individual needs by the staff/owner. I have chemical sensitivities & am allergic to strong fragrances. I asked about strong cleaners/air fresheners B4 I came & the cabin was fragrance free & perfect for anyone w/sensitivities. Very clean, I was on the floor a lot with my geriatric dog & I saw about every corner of the cabin & it was spotless! Carol & Dom manage the property & Jim is the owner. I built a friendly rapport right away with each one! I was running late to get there & was communicating frequently about my ETA (it kept changing), & they were very understanding and had someone waiting for me when I got there bc it was dark. Very kind, caring & also respectful of privacy, I will definitely be back!

I had a great time here. The place is has tons of privacy, charm, and is perfect for unwinding. Jack was very friendly and extremely helpful. The house has everything you need, and I loved the pond. I was able to take some work meetings by it after arriving. I was in Jacksboro to run the North Texas Ultra, and it was a short drive to the park on race day. Not only do you have access to the great trails around Lake Jacksboro, but the area around the home also offers some great running. I will definitely be back next year! Jack and Shellie have been the most accommodating and informative AirBnb hosts I’ve encountered.

I had a amazing time at the house. Really spacious and clean rooms!!! Has a soaking tub and a musical coach which is really smthg to look for if one has time to spend some longer time in the house. Kevin is really passionate about the house it shows through how neat he has kept the interiors!!!

The stay at Kevin’s place was above and beyond. Just an hour and 45 min out of Dallas, we found a retreat space like no other. From the meditative energy of the labyrinth to the sound healing of the gorgeous chimes to relaxing in the vibro-acoustic room and the large soaking tub, we got to experience a little slice of heaven. It was set up so comfortably. And touches everywhere reminding us of the sacred space we were on. Kevin was an awesome host complementing the spiritual space we were in with his big hearted spirit. We are so grateful we have found this gem. We will surely return.

Mr James’ property was a calm retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of cities and daily life. A bubbling pond below wafts music of water upwards, and the air is filled with bird song and breeze. Mr James’ attention to detail is imprinted through the land, from miles of walking and UTV trails, to rock fire pits, pretty lantern lights to light each camp site. There are endless nooks and solitary retreats tucked away, perfect for reflection, conversation or reading. The lakes and ponds, walking trails and beautiful sites beckon so winsomely, you’ll find yourself meandering for hours outside exploring the wild and native land of Marluc Ranch.

This was a cool experience! I didn’t know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. This is more of a hostel set up with private bathrooms, but it’s so cozy and Kevin is super welcoming and made us feel right at home. We were able to let our dogs run around outside as it is fenced in and Kevin’s dog, honey, is very sweet and welcoming as well. Will stay here again if ever back in this area
