The cottage is really adorable and Sarah is a great host. The staircase to the pointed gable is not for children and disabled people. The Swedish stove in the living room is great. The kitchen utensils are a bit outdated but are available for 2 people.

We discovered a beautiful location and at the same time a beautiful solution to stay.

It was a dreamlike experience - truly a place I could only dream about. Absolutely private, silent, and secluded - we spent New Year's Eve there and didn’t see a single person around. The views, the silence, the mountains - everything was perfect. The hosts, Joe and Kya, were amazing. Super friendly, helpful, and responsive. They even helped carry our belongings up the mountain before check-in and back to the car on the morning of January 1st (!). Such kind people! I cannot fail to mention the heartwarming welcome pack with food, sweets, wine, and even treats for our dog, which made us feel so welcome. Even though we visited early in the season, we had so much fun sledding, hiking (with our dog everywhere), relaxing in the cozy house, and enjoying the sauna - followed by jumping into the snow afterward. So you have a lot to do :) Highly recommend it to anyone looking to escape the hustle and truly enjoy the mountains!

Chalet Milly is an enchanting retreat for those who love nature and tranquility. It's surrounded by an outstanding mountain world and architecturally perfectly embedded in it. Traditional construction meets thoughtful modern amenities. Hikes right from the cabin and in the wider area show Piedmont at its best. In addition, the village of Trasquera, which has retained its original charm.

We traveled in 4, 2 adults and 2 children and had a great time. The access is very comfortable and the area is super quiet, we could stay at home while the children played quietly in the package in front. The house was very clean and well stocked. The hosts are very kind and always available.

David is responsive, caring and easy to communicate with. It is a magical place, eco-co-responsible, conducive to disconnection, walking and for those who wish introspection. Find your scouting soul in this enchanting place in nature. In addition, he himself thought of this construction because of his profession, so the place embodies his values. I recommend it 300%, you just have to be aware that depending on your phone operator, only text messages will work well☺️. Congratulations David for creating this place.

The place is wonderful in all aspects. Fortunately, we have tire chains and are experienced with driving on small mountain roads in the winter. So, we could make the 15 minute climb/decent from/to Varzo village. We somehow assumed, and perhaps missed the communication that the cabin is not in Varzo. It is in a very peaceful and beautiful alpine area above Varzo. The Internet did not work, which was a blessing -- as the location beckoned peace and enjoyment of creation, not screens.

Il Picchio is a beautiful chalet. Comfortable beds for 7. Excellent shower. Spacious living room. Francesca is the perfect host: made great suggestions of restaurants, festivals and even a hiking guide! You have to hike Alpe Veglia! Stunning. Lake Orta is a beautiful lake and Orta San Giulio is a gem of a lakeside village. We highly recommend Il Picchio. We will be back!

Overall, we had a wonderful time, definitely a highlight of our trip! Such a fun Airbnb. The only thing is, we hiked beyond it because we miss interpreted the blue cattle fencing as a taped off trail. I think that’s the American not wanting to trespass in us. The hike in instructions were very thorough.

The Airbnb was great, good location (only 3 minutes by car to the gondola), great for ski holidays. Plenty of space and great views of the mountains. The hostess was super nice and accommodating, she showed us around and was always available. It was a very nice short vacation!

Great, roomy chalet, lots of space for our two families (4 adults, 4 children), large bedrooms, big kitchen/dining table. Location was great, right on the piste - you can watch skiers going past all day. 5 steps to get on the piste that takes you down to the main gondola stations (TERMINAL) and you are able to ski right back to the chalet. We were there in February 2025, not tons of snow but still enough on the valley run to make it back to the chalet.

Where do I begin? Alena (host) was amazing from the second I booked this chalet all the way through checkout, and our trip home. I have stayed in many Air BnB's, and Alena was the best host I could ask for. Before we even checked in Alena had given me recommendations of things to do, places to eat, and had covered any detail I could have needed. During our stay she checked on us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves (even though she was on vacation herself!!!) The chalet is even more beautiful in person, the chalet is surrounded by the Swiss Alps, and the scenery is like nothing I have seen before. Inside the chalet was almost as beautiful as the Alps outside, (no offense Alena ;) The woodwork inside the chalet is stunning along with the other beautiful decor. My family and I began our trip in Paris, and finished at this chalet. It was a long exhausting trip, and seeing the Alps had been on my bucket list for 40 years. This stay was a true dream come true. A beautiful cabin located in a beautiful setting. The place is rustic but full of every comfort. An important tip for those who go to Alpe Devero for the first time: explore well with the host how parking works, being a very popular place in all seasons.
