Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Hurunui District Council

Eva’s place was perfect for our family of 7 adults and 2 toddlers; from the spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and quality linen to the huge , fully fenced flat yard. The kitchen is workable with a dishwasher and washing machine always being a bonus with a family gathering. We all agreed this is the best house we’ve stayed in Hanmer and tbf we’ve probably stayed in excess of 20 times so it’s high recommendation.

Was very cozy and a nice space for our group. Eva host was very responsive and accommodating!

Atypical and charming place. Our kids loved sleeping in the old stagecoach garage with the horse stools on display as decoration. Mike and Linda were very welcoming and showed us around the property which has many surprises in store! Despite the rainy weather we had a lovely time!

Great accommodation for our group. Fantastic location being so close to everything. Comfy beds. We'll equipped kitchen. Hosts responded to questions immediately and were on hand as soon as we needed them. Would definitely stay again.

Spacious and Comfortable stay for our family of 9. 2 minute walk to mini golf, and about a 10 minute walk to the pools. Thanks Eva, hope to stay again soon!

Great little place hidden in the second row of houses. Between the fences and hedges, the is no windows or street view.

The place and the location were absolutely stunning and we loved tending to and then sitting in the hot tub at sunset.

A beautiful place to stay, in a lovely quiet location. There’s nearby walking tracks, gorgeous views and (perhaps thanks to the time of year) hardly anyone else staying in the nearby accommodations on the mountain. It was so peaceful! The house is very well appointed, cosy and very alpine in feel. Thank you for allowing dogs to stay too. We know many AirBnBs don’t allow this - as we don’t travel in NZ without the pup your generosity here meant we could enjoy the mountain. Otherwise we’d have had to stay elsewhere (so a smart business move too, guys!) All round - fabulous!

It is the third time we have stayed here and love the location. Quiet and great view. House is clean as always and very cosy. Sorry Julie but we had to steal one of your oranges from the orange tree to try. 😉

Lovely house in a great position to walk everywhere and enjoy everything Hanmer Springs has to offer. It had a bit less outdoor space than we were expecting but this didn’t stop us from enjoying a BBQ! The kitchen is very well equipped and it’s a lovely sociable space. The beds were huge and bathrooms spotless. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

If you’re adventurous and enjoy unique places, then like us, you’ll love this place!Thankfully for us the weather cleared the afternoon we arrived and we had fantastic views of the mountains and surrounding areas. Some persistent stoking of the hot tub paid off and a good relaxing soak in steaming hot water as the clouds rolled in and rain started in the late evening was beautiful!

Fabulous from the moment we arrived. Liz is so friendly and easy going she had no hesitation when she knew we were bringing dogs for a show. The accommodation is lovely, more than we expected, clean and tidy - very warm and comfortable. Liz directed us to where we could let the dogs have a dip in the river - our stay was just so easy. The weather was fabulous when we arrived so sitting on the decking having a drink was much needed after a busy day. Honestly can't rate higher - great value for money. Liz went up and beyond .. even came over at night when couldn't find a channel on the TV lol. Will stay again next year when the dog show is on !!

we had a wonderful stay , with Maree .nice spacious grounds for our dog to have a wander around very close to the main street ,everything within walking distance Marie was very helpful about sightseeing and things to do

Really lovey stay. The perfect place for the occasion and a simple check-in check-out experience. Feels like a country cottage despite being on the main stretch in Amberly. Traffic noise is almost non-existent thanks to the layout of the house and the high wooden fence. The garden is fantastic too and we all wish we’d had more time to enjoy the place. Great local recommendations for food and drink too. Have already recommended to others who may be in the area in future. Thank you!

A couple of things, Pet/Park fee: If you’re bringing a pet, you’ll pay an extra fee on top of the Airbnb rate. TinyAway listed it, but it wasn’t obvious. My partner and I missed it when we reviewed the listing and only realized it after booking. We share some responsibility, but it could’ve been clearer. The drive up: 4WD is essential for steep areas unsuitable for city cars. Driving up and down the mountain was terrifying but memorable. Pictures of retrieving the key would’ve been helpful. Summer: We visited in the summer, and it was extremely hot. We couldn’t spend time outside because of the flies. This isn’t a complaint about our hosts, but a heads up for anyone coming in the summer. Hosts: TinyAway as the main host were very responsive, sub host Tim was not, so that could be improved. View: The view is absolutely gorgeous. Loved it. Home: I thought the home was clean, my partner thought the fridge wasn’t. Eco-toilet took a little getting used to. Bring your own food/snacks.

Really quite and beautiful place, enjoy the time in the mountains

If your looking for unique, rustic and quirky accommodations just 40 mins north of Christchurch, look no further. Damian’s barn accommodation is such a fun place to stay. From the spa to the turntable with lots of old vinyl to belt out. Topping this off with a glass of his Pinot Noir on the veranda in the afternoon sun was the ultimate escape. Damian is a wonderful host, friendly and welcoming. His breakfast hamper option is very generous and delicious. We were lucky enough to have a tour of the main homestead which has been lovely restored by Damian and also has beautiful BnB accommodation. Two wineries with great food are just minutes down the road. All in all I couldn’t fault this unique accommodation. Thank you Damian for your welcoming hospitality. Cheryl & Donna

Amazing place with incredible scenery in both poor and good conditions. Great for an exciting adventure with all of the usual comforts once indoors, really enjoyable to live in a simple and minimal way up in the mountains.

This rustic cottage matched the beautiful surrounding area. The Cottage is on the edge of the Waipara Wine Trail. We walked to Greystone Winery for a coffee and something to eat then called into Waipara Springs winery on our return. This was a very pleasant and easy walk.

This was the last place we stayed on a two week holiday and I was hoping I had saved the best until last. I did!! This place was everything I hoped it would be. With extras like full pantry of things if you needed them. We enjoyed every minute of our time here. If you just want to get away from the world and enjoy peace and beautiful views this is the place, even the toilet has a view. Oxford town with nice cafes and small supermarket is just 10mins drive away but you feel there is not another living soul for miles. The night sky is breath taking.
