Family-friendly vacation rentals in Hochatown

What an awesome cabin! We were all so pleased with this cabin for our family getaway. It was just what we needed and envisioned. The kitchen provided everything that we needed for cooking, there was plenty of towels in the bathrooms, plenty of provided toiletries as well as washing machine and dishwasher detergent. We felt right at home and just couldn’t be happier. There were only a few things I could find that would need some repair, a large range on the stove didn’t work, the stove light didn’t work the ice dispenser on the refrigerator didn’t work and instructions on operation for the living room tv would be very helpful. Other than that, this place was perfect and will be a repeat book for me and our family!!!

Perfect location! The cabin was fairly private in a nice wooded area, but within a mile or so were plenty of activities. Cabin had most everything we needed and was very comfortable. Will certainly consider booking again when we are back in the area.

My family and I have stayed in several homes during vacations and this house had it all!! By far our favorite house and location. The outdoor area was beyond perfect for kids and adults, and the home itself was beautiful and well taken care of. We will definitely be back and want to rent this home again! My family of 13 (Including seven children age one through nine ) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin over the Christmas holiday. It had all of the accommodations we needed for all of us and had plenty of things to do indoors, which was good because it rained most of the time we were there. I would definitely consider this location again in the future and I would recommend this cabin to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Beautiful property located on the top of the hill. Very cabin-y decor and feel, but very nice, new with all the modern amenities. Would definitely stay again. FYI - the road in is winding, steep and narrow - probably not passable for trailers / when towing.

Enjoyed our stay in spite of the rain! Cabin was perfect for our family - loved that each of the bedrooms had a king size bed and private bathroom. Wish they had bigger pots/pans to cook for a large group, but we made it work and we had everything we needed

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We were sad to leave but will definitely be back soon! My favorite part of the cabin was the patio. Being able to enjoy the peace and watch tv in front of the fireplace was amazing!

Wenda’s cabin was perfect. It was clean and tidy and just what we needed for our family weekend. It is secluded and private but within a short driving distance to the shops in Hochatown and the lake at Beaver’s Bend. Wenda provided all the information we needed beforehand, including specific directions to the cabin in case our cellphones didn’t get signal in the area. Overall it was a great stay, we will definitely come back to the Shady Nook!

This was the perfect cabin for our stay. We had 6 adults + 4 children between the ages of 2 and 11. One the bottom floor is a good sized living area, a nicely equipped kitchen open to the living area, a laundry room with two washers and dryers and 3 bedrooms. Each bedroom had a king size bed and one also had a trundle bed. Each bedroom also had its own bathroom with a shower. Although the primary bedroom also had a very cool copper soaking tub. The primary bedroom also opened to the back balcony. The second level had a living room with a pool table and large TV and two more bedrooms with king size beds and their own bathrooms. The third floor had a bunk room with six bunks and also a bathroom. So there was plenty of room to spread out and still have some privacy. The outside deck was amazing, very comfortable furniture, great hot tub and the play area and fire pit on the side were great too. The kids loved the creek outback! It sits on the end of a street, so quite private.

This was probably our best AirBnB stay, ever. More than anything, the little things stood out. We followed explicit, tested directions that got us there effortlessly, and were greated with music and lights on - very nice for late afternoon arrivals! The cabin was spotless, and exactly as advertised. Moreso, little things like a full and sharp set of knives. A kitchen with everything we needed to settle right in - including a stocked and complete spice rack. (You never remember everything, when you pack.) And, if we had a question about how to work something, George responded almost instantly. There were horseshoes, corn hole and other games in the lot and it was well-kept and accessible. And, our dog LOVED the upstairs, back deck where he could survey his kingdom. All in all, it was one of our best stays anywhere. Thank you.

What a peaceful place! We really enjoyed our stay there. Terry was responsive and we had no issues with the stay. The cabin was clean and well furnished, and the kitchen was fully equipped as well. The hot tub was working which was an extra bonus in this cold weather! We would go there again for sure.

Beautiful cabin and perfect for our girls getaway. Close enough to town to have some fun and close to some good trails too. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others!

Our stay was great at Mendy’s. The cabin was very spacious, and just as pictured. The directions were pretty simple to follow with landmarks provided, but if you use Google maps, it will take you straight there. The kitchen was loaded with utensils and it was perfect for what we needed for cooking! The WiFi worked fine, and cable is also provided. The shower water and pressure were amazing. Things to know: If you drive a small car, I suggest renting an SUV or driving something high enough off of the ground. The road to cabin has potholes so it may not be ideal for most sedans. There’s no designated walkway to the hot tub so be sure to grab your towels and shoes you’re willing to get damp. Be mindful that there are no curtains in the living room on any windows. I wasn’t really a fan of that but it wasn’t too much of an issue since we didn’t stay long. Any questions or minor concerns were tended to in a timely manner and communication was great! Would recommend for others guest
